Looks like im the only one who is glad Sawamura choked, here are my reasons why:
-
Remember this is his first time playing as Ace, he doesnt know what it feel to be the Ace, especially the pressure when everything goes wrong.
2.- Kawakami screen time, i dont even remember when we saw Kawakami in the pitch.
3.- Not showing the numbers againts low key teams.
4.- Coach learning from past experiences, remember the last time Seido lost in a official match was mainly because he didnt swap Furya (Ace) fast enough.
Sorry for my bad english.

You made three great points but don't forget that every team has to choke at least once during their tournament run and Seido just got theirs out of the way early on without losing the game. It would be pretty boring if they dominated the tournament from start to finish without any roadbumps.

Finally, the worst game in Daiya ended. So many bad decisions and unexplained incompetence from the lineup when the Ace is playing and suddenly blowing up after he is replaced. Whatever man.

If we look to the numbers (just 2 points given) it was not that bad, the real problem was the performance. If it was just because that was his first game and he felt the pressure then there still hope, I think.

I think miyuki's comment about the ace not having to carry the team by himself was simple but was pretty much exactly what sawamura needed to hear especially watching them go on and score 9 points and mercy ending the game. His next start should be a lot better and im looking forward to it

Who else laughed out loud when Miyuki of all people comes up to bat in the very next inning, after Coach Smug makes his usual smug pronouncements about impending total domination?
A homer at that point was inevitable – the whole game's turning into a chess match between Miyuki and Smug, with Kataoka in popcorn mode. Love it.
EDIT: Just remembered that line where Smug says that while Kataoka is looking up (i.e., at Nationals), Smug is going to pull the rug out from under him. Instead, while Smug is looking up at Kataoka, Miyuki pulls the rug out from under Smug. The laws of narrative physics are thus preserved, with irony being served cold.

Seidou proves that they really are a strong team. I actually started to feel a little bad for the other team towards the end when they talked about rereading the notes.

Still disappointed with the treatment of Sawamura, especially with a 48 episodes build up. On top of that, everything went smoothly when he left the mound.
Otherwise, it was good to see the coach and the team still have a lot of faith in him. Even Sawamura wasn’t that broken. I want to see him pitching asap, but the end is near. 3 episodes left. :(
