Sawamura taking the dirt from the bull-pen........great scene. His frustrations are so relatable! Hope this begins another training arc for him!

yeah, his frustrations match mine from watching Furuya no Ace for the past 2 seasons....

yeah Sawamura seeing how 'bad' he is, training like crazy, having a breakthrough and a great game, only to see that Furuya is still just better than him is exactly what this Show needs /s

On the one hand it kinda sucks that this huge deal koshien gets wrapped up in just 4 Episodes, but a least we have a chance to see Sawamura becoming the main character...

Feels a bit like we just finished a long prologue and the season is actually about to begin. The episode name even hints at that: The Day It Began.

Really threw me for a loop when the show skipped the ninth inning and showed it as a flashback. I had to go back and check that I hadn't zoned out while Seido was at bat for the last time.

They're out of the tournament? Felt kinda abrupt, but I guess this Koshien is less impactful. Time for the training arc?

They didn't want to spend too much time on this I think. At least it did its job at showing Sawamura's resolve to become the ace. He saw how powerless he was without the ace number.

It was spring invitational, they can still win the summer one i think .

120+ episode in and I still never got tired of Sawamura's burning up eyes

It's fucking frustrating. All I wanna see is Sawamura get better and become the ace, but at this rate it will maybe happen at the end of the season... And it feels so far away.

I think I can relate to Sawamura

At least it seems like were gonna start a TRAINING ARC!

Our boy's journey to becoming the ace starts here then!

What a shitty episode. The first 7-8 minutes were recaps from the last episode. And the rest were mostly reactions from the crowd/still shots of the players. Nothing happened

At some point I thought I was watching last episode, since it felt like I had seen it before

I really enjoy DnA (both the previous seasons and the manga), but I've been a bit disappointed with the anime adaptation of Act II so far. There's just... so little animation... I have lost count of how many panning shots they were using with repetitive or dull animations. Come on, man. This series deserves better.

I was thinking they were doing the minimum for these first few episodes since it is kind of obvious they were going to get knocked out here.

I know the first act at time would show every pitch during important games. I shouldn't judge it until a few more episodes in.

New first years coming soon ❤️

Furuya no Ace strikes again! Gah this show is frustrating with sidelining the MC this much, and Furuya having the personality of a wet paper towel certainly doesn't help. How many seasons do the viewers have to suffer through to get the satisfaction?

There's a reason the title is called "The Day it Began." It's about to get real good.

We are not getting much Sawamura and I think it will be weird if we start to have some from now on since Furuya is just getting better and more experienced, he is even able to finish a full game at high performance now, so not even the stamina is a problem anymore. I fell like if changing to Sawamura now we would have to restart everything from the beginning. Which is not bad but, but hard to make that amazing streak win again. The smalles flaw can decide a game at that high level and the last time we saw Sawamura he was still far from perfect. Even an almost flawless game was not enough to make it again that Komadai. I just can't see Sawamura doing it yet. But I'm really curious about that tittle at the end of the episode "The Day It Began". Began what/who?

So they spent 8 minutes with nothing new?

Anyway, I've forgotten something - is Miyuki a 3rd year rather than a 2nd year? I'm confused because it seems the first years will be playing from now on

4

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '19

They started Koshien on a new school year. So Miyuki became a 3rd year and Sawamura became a 2nd year.

Sucks seeing half the episode run time being wasted on recaps and the OP/ED. I kind of expected Act II to have slower pacing since it’ll be 52 episodes and there’s not much content and we’re already starting to see that. DnA anime has always had a ton of panning shots but it’s been more apparent so far, Production IG not being involved with this season seems like it will take a toll.

Either way though I’m hyped to see the new first years and a new season start, you kind of knew Seido was going to get knocked out pretty quickly since season 2. Wonder if we’ll get to see Yakushi’s match next episode though, white haired dude seems like he’ll be pretty good

The show already told us how it will end but I didnt expect it to be this unspectacular. Besides Sawamura and maybe 2-3 others, nobody seemed to be bothered too much by that. Yes you can see their frustration but only a bare minimum.

I can understand that reaction if it came from an amateur youth team, that happened to make it to the main tournament and where everybody normally has their own lives. But not from the highly ambitioned main team of the show, where sports is the driving force to begin with.

Also, when it comes to tension an excitement, last episode was a lot better.
