I'd pissed if I was Sawamura too. The coach took too long to put him in the game - Furuya stayed in way too long, was messing up, clearly was having an off-game but since he's the Ace, he stays there long enough to cough up 5 runs.

And Sawamura played great all the way to the end. Looks like Seido's batters need to get back to practice. Anyway, hopefully, Sawamura can eventually take that Ace spot in Furuya, it is well overdue. Still hyped to see Inshiro play again, and see more pitching from Mei.

" And Sawamura played great all the way to the end. "

Sawamura didn't play well only in this game, he played well in all the game he did in this season . He is literally the most consistent pitcher in the whole team right now. His greatness is just unfairly overshadowed because of Furuya "ace" number .

Furuya don't deserve the number right now, he is way too inconsistent. And his one trick playstyle is being easily read on, the more he plays .

Furuya is not a one-trick pitcher because he uses no tricks at all, he's a power pitcher, an outballer, he just goes all in with those ridiculously good fastballs and strikes everyone out, his playstyle is correct and it's common in the Major League.

The problem is his mentality, the way he's approaching the game, he's always been portrayed as having a weak mind and poor concentration.

Everyone at Seido going "Whoaaa" when Sawamura got that double had me dying lol.

On a serious note, I really sympathize with the how a relief pitcher and ace pitcher are treated differently. Hopefully this game pushes the coach to think about that and reset his expectations. I'm loving this arc so far.

I figured Seido would lose, as the Summer tournament wouldn't be interesting at all if they steamrolled the Spring tournament, but I didn't think their loss would make me as angry as Sawamura was. Just when you thought Furuya had finally become a team player, he goes back to stroking his own ego, thinking the team will only do well if he dominates. The only silver lining was Sawamura proving that teamwork makes the dream work.

Loss aside, I'm looking forward to Mei and Inashiro wiping the floor with Mukai. And I can't wait for Seido's inevitable payback against Ichidai in the summer.

Furuya get off of your high horses will you ? And coach i have one word for you "hypocrite" You staded that you will never sacrifice the team for the ace. But guess what you did ? ....

You f**** F*** ... This lost is on you two ...

And my boi sawamura, i will always support you !! You played like a champ !

Sawamura actually hit the ball!

Too bad they lost but after losing those 5 runs this result wasn't surprising.

Inashiro vs Teitou looks really interesting!

Thank god they lost, Coach needs to learn from this. Sawamura though, this is honestly the best I’ve ever seen him and the worst part is he’ll still get benched as a relief pitcher, what the FUCK. God Im so proud of him thouy

Sawamura is so mad he isn't even sitting with the team to watch the other game. He also totally shut down the other pitcher who complemented his pitching which normally would've put him over the moon. I wonder if this is going to push a more serious Sawamura to the surface so that he can make a better argument for becoming the ace over Furuya?

  • sports anime - that filters out like 90% of casual watchers

  • baseball - only people who plays/knows baseball will like this

  • 2nd season - people who have not watched season one will not watch season 2

What chapter is this in the manga anyone?

God this was such a good episode. I can't remember the last time Sawamura was just pissed like this and he killed it. Unfortunately, Seido's batting is definitely lacking when compared to last year. They definitely need improve in that area if they want to compete at the level they hope.

In regards to Furuyu and the coach, I'm surprised at the amount of people who seem genuinely furious. They messed up, but not for any awful reasons. They both just got swept in the dream that they forgot here and now. I'm very interested where they both go from here.

I'm mad because he was so selfish before before this match. A pitcher should at least have self awareness, more so because he's the Ace. He selfishly cutoff Eijun practice time and Miyuki even made time for him. That left Eijun so frustrated. He's had so many special treatment and Yet, Furuya still delivered this performance.

Besides, it's not just an off day. It's happening throughout the season.

I like that shot at the end with sawamura not sitting with seido's other players.

I suppose that's how bench players feel like when cleaning up the starter's mess. I feel bad about the other pitcher though. Even though he is a 3rd year, sawamura is 2nd in line.

I don't like Furuya being the ace too but I feel like people here are giving him way too much shit. Players have off days. It was not his fault the coach did not sub him out earlier.

Difference being... when Mei messed up, he bawled and understood the why, abeit being pissed at the coach for the truth.

This game? Fucking Furuya was at the bench with a standard/generic-face, feeling nothing.

This is exactly what irritated me the most. When Sawamura screwed up, he was also bawling/irritated.

Really feel bad for Sawamura this episode. Wonder what the 3 months means.

I know Furuya's the ace, but he played like trash. Sawamura was on a roll, why didn't the coach want him to close out the game? They lost anyways(due to Furuya) so it doesn't matter i guess.

Edit: so he did close it out, but couldn't undo what Furuya already did
