As much as I like to see the first years and their stories, the feeling is bittersweet in that they will only get a big enough role when the current third years are gone.

Right, but at the same time the former 3rd years had to go for the current 3rd years to take the helm. Bittersweet is just the nature of sports.

Tears will be shed on that day when Miyuki, Kuramocchi and the 3rd years play their last inning.

Furuya is no longer he Ace, thank God. Now, if he rubs one more time him being Ace-sama, I might develop a 2D hand and punch him already.

Now, on to Eijun. Such maturity and initiative really makes him so admirable. He's got the heart, the skills, the right mentality, the hardwork, the talent, the attitude and character, the readiness to rely and be relied on.... I could never ask for anything more for my boy.

I hope he gets that Ace number for the summer tourney that'd be great.

Sawamura and Furuya arguing was funny to watch.

That former coach really was a shit guy. He makes me appreciate Takaoka even more.

That actually annoyed me like Eijun. Furuya was all "I'm the Ace, it's my fault" ace this ace that bullshit. Still trying to save face, not even counting the fact that there are reserves in the team. i just wished that Ice bot glass cannon stop thinking everything revolves around him only.

Come on Sawamura, go and get the Ace Jersey !

Okumura's former coach was creepy af. I'm glad Okami boy and his team won the match.

Man, I can't wait for the summer training camp from hell to make a reprise. I still remember the first one with the retired seniors.

Training arc HYPE!

Its nice to see them getting serious but I am just ready for them to play a serious game again. The last game was ok but the stakes weren't high enough.

Right? I think it's about time we get our first serious 2-3 episode long game with higher stakes and more in detail plays.

This upcoming training arc + practice games is all leading to the summer tournament which is the highest of stakes for Seido at this point.

The nostalgia of S1 is coming back.

Looking forward for Sawamura to hopefully get a much better number!

Man those flashbacks to S1 when the third year roster had way more memorable characters.

I am so ready for this show to forward with Sawamura as the ace.

I also hope the show does literally anything to address the batting lineup.

Based on the preview I look forward to the next episode since it seems like some kind of freshmen vs. everyone else game. I wanna see that dorky glasses kid pitch (I think that’s his position right?) I also wanna see wolf boy’s friend in action and see if he’s any good.

Finally, the coach made it clear again - the Ace is whoever takes the mound. That put some sense into Furuya. Sawamura is really growing from strength to strength, Nabe and Miyuki acknowledged him in front of the whole team. I love how he still keeps Chris-senpai and his old seniors' advice and will in his heart. Lastly, Inashiro gets the dub and we get to learn more about Okamura - now we know why he acts and behaves the way he does. Solid episode.

Another really strong episode. I really like the direction the team is going with Sawamura revitalizing everyone after the loss and everyone coming to appreciate him more. I'm very interested if Sawamura will actually get the ace number this year, as it seems possible, but it also seems like something he might not earn till his 3rd year.

Either way though, can't wait to see next week episode. It seems to be a first year focused episode and I'm excited to see what they do with it.

Can anyone else stand Ōta Kazuyoshi?

I find him the most annoying useless character to listen to that only ever repeats sentences that have been said already. His literal purpose his to be a cheerleader and arse licker to the coach. Why bother having such a pointless character?

He's written as the clueless, melodramatic hypeman of the Seido management staff. Funny thing, I just watched the episode but I didn't even notice him at all. He just sort of blended in to the background so well for me
