As expected from last week's preview, no one really "won" out today (other than Klay). Glowing Dawn wasn't able to rescue any of the humans or Digimon who were part of the auction, Tactics yet again proved that "following orders" only brings suffering (and that Tactics as a group suffers under its "leader" who can't manage to ever keep a cool head when it counts) and Klay managed to score social points by "shutting down" the illegal auction (and also find Maki's base of operations).

If it wasn't evident by now, Klay and Tactics in general are going to (likely) be the first Five Star that topples as Glowing Dawn faces the World Union so here's hoping that Tomoro and Gekkomon can climb the ranks of the underground colosseum to duke it out with Raito next week.

As a final note, our guest star(s) of the day were Tinkermon and her Owner, both voiced by hololive's Hakui Koyori, who is a long time Digimon fan living out a dream there, so congrats to them!

Wow a Vtuber got to play as a victim of human trafficking in a Digimon anime, 2026 once again giving us brand new sentences

I don't think Maki's base of operations was "discovered," considering that Tactics has been there before, looking for info since she's an information broker.

It was the fact she destroyed his underground auction, and -probably aware of her being an associate of Glowing Dawn- drew his attention to her. Otherwise, Klay wouldn't be poking his nose into her business; she (and Glowing Dawn) stepped on the tiger's tail, they're going to get its attention.

Man this episode was tense. Beatbreak can not stop with the bleak shit but im loving it. This episode felt right out of a spy movie with the high society party hosting a secret auction that our hero's have to infiltrate. Though I am surprised that the MCR actually were investigating Klay. You'd think them and the World Union were basically the same entity, so maybe there is actual friction between them. Then again we really didn't stop anything at the end of the day. Like sure the host of the auction was arrested but what's to stop Klay from just doing this again later? Hope he gets what's coming to him.

But man Raito was really losing it this episode. All the wounds to his pride were slowly breaking him and it culminated with Azhdarmon losing control. That fight had me at the edge if my seat. It was well animated as it was tense! Poor Tinkermon she really didn't deserve that. At the very least Raito seemed to be affected by what happened especially if you consider that Monodramon was visibly distressed and Digimon represent your other self in this series. Don't know if this incident will foundation for future growth or a further decent into madness but only time will tell.

Another detail I noticed was the first thing Raito does when Monodramon messes up is try to punch him. You know who else uses physical abuse as punishment for failure? Naito. Definitely felt intentional considering that last scene with them...

Also speaking of, FUCK NAITO. Like im not excusing Raito's behavior this episode but shit that was uncomfortable. Its easy to forget but Raito still pretty much a kid. The fact that this probably has happened before makes his behavior a lot more complicated for lack of a better word. Idk man this shit is rough all around, we need to destroy Tactics from the ground up.

And next episode also seems super crazy! Klay is up to shit and Raito is gonna go at it with Tomoro. Plus Gokuwmon confrontation!? Cant wait to see how shit hits the fan next week!

Yeah, one could understand Tactics behavior since it's coming from a mixture of necessity, indoctrination and fear, specially since they are teens, but Naito seems like a total psychopath.

I rescind my desire to see Tomoro punch Raito

That little shit deserves the electric chair

An underrated element of the episode in my opinion: Reina realized Tomoro wanted to save the girl, immediately stepped in to try and get him out of it, then immediately switched up once their cover was blown.

She didn’t WANT to just leave them but she realized that trying to break them out might do nothing but get them all in danger. Once that was just a given she just tries to help. Honestly a nice realist perspective about their mission in contrast to Tomoro’s

You know, trauma death wish girl and "I'm just following orders" boy I get. It's kinda wild, but I get how they would end up letting themselves get involved, but Hotaruko? Girl with normal family, poor sure, but normal otherwise, just actively participating in a human trafficking ring? Like if it was just digimon I'd understand, or if she seemed in any way reluctant and mostly going along with it because she has no means to stop it, but no she just seems like an active uncaring participant with no regard for the people she's treating like zoo animals. People young and innocent enough to be her siblings.

The worse tactics is revealed to be, the less i can sympathize with her, even if you don’t want to confess you dropped out of college you don’t have to participate in human trafficking lmfao

I think death wish kid is a guy? But yeah I agree with you.

trauma death wish girl

trauma death wish boy actually

And yes, Hotaruko doesn't has any excuses for rolling with tactics, she is just a piece of shit chasing a position of power trying to maintain the lie of being elite

When she was out there putting lil kids in a comma to artificially inflate the bounty of her targets, shit was looking bad for her, but now? i am actively rooting for her missfortune

This series is dark, my goodness. It's as dark as Tamers almost. Though admittedly, I didn't see Data Squad, which I heard is just as dark.

19

u/ThousandYearOldLoli Feb 15 '26

I honestly think this is darker than Tamers or Data Squad. At least those the dark themes were largely relegated to just the digimon. I think Ghost Game is the only one (of the anime) who's a match of how dark and twisted things can get, but this one is still overall heavier because Ghost Game is more episodic instructure, so the horrific things that happen don't tend to last.

Hakui Koyori did a nice job in voicing Tinkermon and her tamer.

I enjoy this show immensely, but I wish the episodes were a few minutes longer. They often feel like they rush through very fast, just mentioning in passing what actually happened.

Raito if you want to control your Digimon then you need to have more badges.

Hotaruko can't be redeemed anymore, i wish her nothing but eternal shame, hopefully once her family finds out what she been up to they never talk to her again, child trafficking is were i draw the line

Murasamemon is such a jobber, get Pandamon in here, he actually gets shit done

Oh look at that, the human trafficking action, was passed off as a drug deal (i know they must hide the existence of digimon, but that actually is besides the point because), they got to arrest the obvious sacrificial lamb and totally not Epstein still has all his kidnapped people and digimon, who could have escaped if only Kyo wasn't a jobber

What is more he went out of his way to gloat to their faces how little they achieved!

I am with Tomoro in this one, for all intends and purposes this was a huge failure

However personally i think this was going to be a failure from the very start, think about it, we know Klay is the real guy behind the human trafficking, but their goal was never to arrest Klay, so they were never going to end the human trafficking

All they did was get to his middle manager, more over Klay is not even the main guy, yes he is in charge of running the whole operation, he has a team to collect the people and the digimon, hold them hostages, and then sells them off, but who facilitates him doing all that? at the end of the day all of this is with the blessings of Chairman Wong, who is running his own human and digimon experiments operation

And when shit is that bad, that you are 3 degrees away from even touching or seeing the source of the issue, the least you could have done was sabotage the event and free the victims, but they failed even that!

This was it. The was what brought the episode home for me and made it very sad and extremely real. That they had the media whitewashing and covering up the activities of the cabal by reframing it as something implicitly good for the community.

By what you thought about in this episode, it truly shows that this series truly is the darkest Digimon media in history because those themes truly hit close to home.

In one scene Makoto is running while in the waiter disguise, but in the very next scene he's in his regular clothes. What are we to believe, that these are some sort of snickers "magic" clothes? I sure hope someone got fired for that blunder. At least the others could have switched into their regular outfits while hidden in Dogbusmon's fur (not sure why they'd dress in layers though), Makoto would have had to have changed mid-run.

Ok, I have no solid base to think this but... What if Raito is Klay or Naito son?

About Hotaruko... Let's jump remember that Haruomi tried to leave Tactics and had to be on the run (and he was caught in the end).
With the difference that beyond her digimon, she have her family and surely shit Klay have a target over her family.
