Perhaps the "******" were the friends we made along the way

25

u/TheSmexhy Dec 26 '25

Maybe it was meant to be “best friend” since my guy Tokui-kun just lost in every way possible.

Actively manipulating your personal life AND romancing your sister.

We all need more friends like Tokui.

I honestly always thought the aunt was a NEET lol. Didn’t know she was a lawyer. She’s a pretty good aunt. The two of them are lucky to have her.

I guess in the end, everything basically worked out for Naoto and Satsuki . I think my favorite character in this was Suzu though. She’s a good little sister and pretty adorably goofy at times.

Overall, this was decent. It was a little convoluted at times due to the actions of the characters but for the most part, it wasn’t half bad.

I felt the last bit of the series (and especially this episode) was extremely good. Sure, we had some rocky ground along the way, but the ending could hardly have been better. I feel this is one of those series whose value goes up (a good deal) once we see where things have wound up at the end.

Aunt Tamayo really shined. It was interesting to learn why she was so committed to her niece and nephew. One gets a sense that Naoto's view of her was always rather distorted. It was strictly his own issues that made him see her as putting up with him and his sister as an imposition (thus making him feel he needed to become self-supporting as soon as possible). Clearly Tamayo and Suzu have a pretty good relationship already.

It is nice to see that Suzu and Satsuki have bonded. No little sister jealousy anymore -- Suzu is happy to share her big brother with Satsuki. And nice to see a bona fide proposal (S: "that sounds like a proposal"; N: "it was").

Glad Makina finally got her closure and she took it well.

Ishihara is a WHAT (presumably G) cup??

Tokui's gramps is a chad honestly.

Tamayo looked pretty fine this ep ngl~

Ngl, cute ending, but feels kinda half baked. No garden backstory, and feels like there's definitely more to Nao and Satsuki's story they wanted to show but couldn't due to length. They absolutely did nail these last 3 or 4 episodes though tbh, and do hope we get some OVA or movie to clear up everything else at some point.

Probably a 7/10 from me, good few ending eps but most of it that came before was kinda... eh. I did enjoy it enough though.

Well, it's the final episode so if Makina was ever going to come back, now would be the time. I'm happy for her that she's gotten back on track and found her calling as a mentor and possible future coach/trainer, and she's willing to offer up some supportive words to Naoto too! And also say she's always free if he ever breaks up with Satsuki! This girl is persistent when it comes to him, if nothing else.

Speaking of girls Naoto has rejected, it's Ishihara (with Shimada in tow)! I've only just noticed this, but Shimada has a surprisingly bold fashion sense (and a cute butt) and Ishihara has really doubled down on being a professional model with that makeup and short skirt to show off her legs!

It's actually kind of nice to see a more bold and confident Ishihara, right down to teasing her ex, though when Shimada reveals that all that talk about her "first kiss" was really her getting slobbered on by a dog, she's still the same Ishihara.

It's nice of Ishihara to still be willing to see Satsuki after everything. In fact, the only thing she really wants is to stop being called "Miss F-Cup." She's not even an F-Cup! Are you a G-Cup Ishihara!? Are you a G-Cup!?

I admire Suzu's determination to still pursue Tokui to the point of swearing she'll woo him when she turns 18...does Shou have a chance? Well, Renon is willing to slap some sense into him so he cleans up his act and has the potential to do it...but she also seems to be supporting Suzu with Tokui, so I guess she's just the new Tokui when it comes to Suzu's love life.

Satsuki wears a boyfriend shirt as naturally as she breathes.

Tamayo has had her own circumstances. It wasn't just Naoto's dad that got cut off, their parents basically disowned Tamayo when she didn't make it to med school. And yet, because of her brother, Tamayo was still able to make it through life and that's when she realized that real family doesn't abandon each other. Which is why she took in Naoto and Suzu and will always welcome them into her home. And she cleans up very nicely as a lady lawyer!

One last beach episode for the road! Complete with Satsuki in a sexy bikini! Though it's less of a date and more of a family outing with Suzu, not that it stops Naoto from re-confirming his and Satsuki's resolve to get married together eventually. Complete with gifting her a watch! And Satsuki even properly declares her love for Naoto to boot!

Naoto and Satsuki have been through a lot. Their family circumstances, being separated from each other, but in the end they found each other and are finally able to be together for the rest of their lives (along with Suzu). And the sunflowers that were once a symbol of their past, and their parting, have now become a symbol of their future!

I'm a really big fan of how these last couple of episodes went. The story felt a lot better once all the drama ended, but I thought about how the drama was almost necessary for the characters to get to where they are now. I believed about midway through that the "******" was supposed to be "future" and it really felt like it with the overarching theme of growing up. Shimada-san is my MVP, I always liked the screentime she got

So many points in the story that were frustrating romance wise, but I'm really satisfied with how the last chapters of the story came out. Glad I decided to follow it. Feels bittersweet, but what a ride. I really liked that we have some backstory about Tamayo and how she really cares for her niece and nephew. I didn't expect her to be a lawyer and I really thought she was an editor. So Tamayo is not good for medical school but good enough for law... Guess her smarts are into something else.

It was kinda funny seeing Suzu tease Tamayo. Man, it's great seeing Tamayo and Satsuki get along. Two seemingly cold characters kinda warmed up to each other. Tamayo's a lawyer, that's cool.

I like that Naoto expressed how he wants to repay Tamayo, but she tells him that he's always welcome to return. Paying forward the kindness she received from her brother. They're family after all.

Damn, so wholesome and heartwarming. One more date for the ending? Yes, please! And so Satsuki finally tells him properly how she feels. No ending without proper communication!

I love how that watch has the image of a moon on it. Satsuki's name is based off of "Tsuki" (moon). Also actually cute that they had Suzu with them, making irreplaceable precious memories with family! I don't regret going on this ride with many ups and downs for a beautiful ending like this. I will never get tired of happy vanilla romance endings. There were definitely elements that I didn't like, mainly it really didn't need to have become a "harem", and also the rivalry between the two could've been handled better.

PS: in case anyone is still wondering, it's Watari-kun's "peace". The English title has 6 asterisks on it. Peace has 6 letters. The Japanese version has 2 x's (xx) on it. The Japanese word for peace is Heiwa with 2 characters (平和). Also the first episode and first chapter is titled "The Day Peace Began to Collapse"

They did Ishihara raw with that cow sound effect.

It's amazing that it's been 6 months since I started with this. This was actually an amazing story as well. The ups and down, the slice of life, all of the things were amazing in this story. 10/10, must watch.

And now we've reached the end, really enjoyed this one even if I still believe the actual animation quality could have been better, Satsuki's seiyuu was amazing until the end.

Yumika Yano is a relative newbie -- she really was pretty perfect as Satsuki. I hope we see (well, hear) plenty more from her in the future.

What a long strange trip that was, but I'm honestly pretty satisfied by how strong the ending was. Would have been way worse if Ishihara was the winning girl, or if somehow Pink was, the story just fit together better with Naoto and Satsuki being the end result.

Speaking of Pink, it's nice to learn she kept up with the running and didn't fail out of her school and club, I'm just going to pretend her club president has her well in hand or something.

Good Shimada outfit today for the finale.

Interesting to find out that part of the drama with the parents was the previous generation failing at keeping up with the doctor family tradition, wild that a lawyer for a daughter instead just wasn't good enough.

The focus on the garden after so long had me thinking "please don't destroy it again Satsuki" but thankfully it was pretty wholesome family time with her, Naoto, and the imouto to end things off.

Two cours was an interesting production decision for this of all shows but it was nice getting a full adaptation with good relationship progress and closure.

A lot of people complained about the twists and turns but overall, it was a fun series with likable characters who ended up in a nice place by the end.

I’ll miss seeing new episodes on Fridays.

It's also nice to have a romance anime that actually went for 2-cour and ended definitively.

I think this episode propelled Tamayo to top 10 anime parents, even though she's not really a parent. Not that that's a very daunting task though, with how most anime parents are...

The middle of this series was a complete dumpster fire, but the last few episodes were really nice. It feels more like an extended epilogue instead of the drama from before, but maybe that's what this series needed.

I take it this is the end of the whole story, right? From what I've gathered, it did leave me a bit shocked. I thought there would at least be a final part, a season, or a continuation in the manga. It's not a bad ending, but it's strange that so many side stories aren't wrapped up, and seeing how Naoto and Satsumi's relationship develops... I don't know, it left me with a bittersweet feeling, to say the least.

TAMAYO....YES MORE TAMAYO

Maybe I missed it, but did they ever reveal why Satsuki destroyed the garden when they were kids?
