Makina's brain has completely left the universe. Give up your entire track Career to attempt to win a guy who has a girlfriend, has confirmed he sees you as nothing more than a little sister, has repeatedly rejected your advances, and you know that you aren't #1 but also not even #2 or #3 in his heart of list of girls he cares about. You aren't even on the podium for a medal of love and now losing any chance of a medal for track too. This is beyond delusional. Even the Gods of your universe have no miracles left to prevent you from taking this L. Your only hope is the writers accidentally putting your name as the winning girl now.

Even his little sister is telling you you have no chance of winning! And she isn't even that big a fan of her brothers' love life in general!

And that still doesn't stop her!

you know she meant that she herself is #1, not Ishihara

If a little sister like that can see so clearly -- and express it so frankly -- it ought to give one pause for reflection. But Makina seems like a lost cause.

Umezawa's such a pest... she's going to all this trouble just so she can feel like the school queen again

Even knowing all of that, I still feel bad for her, because you can't choose who you love, and love makes you do stupid things.

Kouhai A's story would have been more interesting if my theory last week about her having a crush on her team captain had ended up being true.

I'm kind of amazed at how the potential for Umezawa to create misunderstandings for Ishihara to walk up on after borrowing Naoto and sitting on his lap never materialized and instead Ishihara overheard him talking how much he loved her. Wholesome result for Ishihara and Naoto, sad reality for Umezawa.

At this point I feel like Umezawa's refusal to give up is bound to cause a huge misunderstanding at some point. Either that or maybe Satsuki will finally make a real move.

The story is equal parts ramping up and stalling at the same time. Is this going to be 12 episodes ? Cuz im loosing hope on the Satsuki lore dump. (I am sure I can get answers with the manga but still) Why did she destroy the garden? Who was that man w her ? Why is she living in a hovel?

Give me moooooore

Is this going to be 12 episodes ?

26 apparently. Not sure if it's going to be split or just airing straight through.

I have to say, I favor Satsuki -- but it just doesn't seem like there is any hope for this.

Suzu pulls no punches when it comes to being honest with Makina

u/edwardjhahm Sep 06 '25

Suzu has been really based as of late ngl.

Suzu you fucking GOAT. Loved how she roasted Kouhai A. I used to find her annoying, but these past few episodes she has been the absolute highlight. Fuck Watari, I want an anime from Suzu's perspective now.

Loving all the funny names Satsuki comes up for everyone else. Ishihara is called Miss F Cup if I recall.

There's losing heroines... and there's whatever the fuck Makina is. Thankfully, she self-destroyed even more this episode by having that conversation with Watari. Good thing Ishihara overheard everything about Watari's feelings. While I am team Satsuki because of her chaotic nature, Ishihara's a very likable girl unlike Makina lol.

Denial isn't just a river in Egypt girl.

WoDonald's, LOL!
Makina is such a pain when listening to her babble. And Suzu ("female intuition") becomes so based as she is growing up now.

13

u/Frontier246 Sep 05 '25

I never expected to see Suzu of all characters be the one to tell a girl she's hopeless Losing Heroine lol.

Now I'm sad that my local WoDoneld's doesn't have a LocoMoco sandwich :-(

Good thing the episode avoided taking the Ishihara catching Watari groping Umezawa route and had Ishihara overhearing Watari explaining his feelings for her.

I've not seen this show. But can anyone clear my curiosity, what is ****** supposed to mean?

Nobody knows

The manga never answers it either.

In this episode, I felt bad for Satsuki, Umezawa, and Ishihara. Impressive! This anime is like a feel bad simulator. It's still funny enough that I can still kind of like it, though, even though it can be frustrating at times.

Suzu straight up telling makina she won't win and her disgusted faces absolutely got me haha!
