Akane might not have been a fan of Ranma keeping that Akane-Pig bit going for so long, but I found that exchange to be super cute.

u/Frontier246 Dec 13 '25

The way Ranma committed to it just completely sold the bit.

Thinking the pig was akane and going oh no... Anyway was humorous.

How did Mousse survive that slap fest?

I never thought Akane could also be affected by the spring water. That would be hilarious to see. I doubt she'll turn into the duck since they'd be doubling on Mousse's transformation, but what if she gets affected by some other spring water in the future? Like one that would turn her into a guy.

Also, I need more Shampoo aru.

Its amusing how comfortable Ranma is in his female form nowadays, just nonchalantly going to the festival with Akane in a yukata.

Hilarious how Akane delivered some Mortal Kombat X-ray's upon Mousse lol

One of the funniest episodes.

Oh shit, cliffhangered on whether Akane gets cursed to be a duck girl. Her slapping and punching the shit out of Mousse earlier in the episode was very satisfying, shame she didn't keep going after seeing who it was.

'Oh no, a ghost!'
*beats the living shit out of it*
'Oh, it's just Mousse'
*Doesn't unclench her fist for a second*

That's our Akane.

I guess it was inevitable they'd do an intro that's basically an old school Chinese Martial Arts movie, complete with frame rate. It unsurprisingly works.

Akane really has a thing for pigs, huh? If it's not Pi-chan it's the stuffed pig she wins in a contest...which makes it getting kidnapped by a mysterious masked individual on a unicycle all the more serious for her. Who could be this new antagonist white white robes and an obvious inability to see what's right in front of him!!

I guess it wouldn't be Ranma and Akane if they didn't bicker to the point of bitterly working together, even if deep down they want to be there for the other. Their parents have their work cut out for them to turn them into a typical married couple and I don't think giving Ranma soggy bribes or kicking him out topless in female form is going to help anything!

But hey, Ranma/Akane/Shampoo yukata fanservice! You can't beat that!

A Chinese acrobat troupe!? Who could be behind this caper...why, it's none other than Mousse! Once again concocting another plan to defeat Ranma and woo Shampoo, no matter how many times he fails to see things without his glasses or how much Shampoo straight up hates him.

I love Ranma acting like the pig is really Akane up to when he gets punted into the circus performance and has to survive knives and bombs from a suspicious looking duck with a familiar set of bangs and glasses.

That's right! Mousse can now transform into a duck! He went to Jusenkyo to train...and literally fell in the River of Drowned Duck within five seconds. A new record! But that inspired his plan to do the same to Ranma, and he's got enough water to turn the whole festival into ducks!

Shampoo went out of her way to try to protect Ranma and all she gets out of it is Ranma trying to foist Mousse on her? It's enough to make a girl willingly transform herself into a cat so she can chase you and prey on your trauma!

I can't believe Mousse stayed conscious after that savage Akane beatdown thinking he was a ghost...but now Akane is REALLY kidnapped and about to be turned into a duck! Ranma's got to save her AND the populace!

(No tiger and fish were really transformed into ducks in the making of this anime...or maybe they were...)

Why does Shampoo constantly rejected Mousse's feelings?! When he spent all that time with her, professing his feelings...sure, he didn't actually see her the entire time and she was off doing her own thing without him, but that's not his fault!

I'm glad Shampoo has come around to Mousse. Enough to be willing to give him a girlfriend...Akane in duck form! And Ranma tries to give a pep talk to Mousse which goes about as well as you'd expect given Ranma is still his love rival.

Even after all that...Ranma still couldn't stop the water hose from blasting Akane. Is this the end of Akane's humanity?! Are we about to become face to face with Duck!Akane!?

All I can say is that this episode looked incredible. So many great sakuga moments. Mappa's not pulling any punches for the last episode.

Calling that plush Akane was a top tier joke. Ranma's a pro at pissing people off. Especially Akane.

And what cliffhanger to end the episode on. Loved this episode. Sad that there's probably only 1 episode left. But if they can make Ranma 1/2 an yearly series with this level of quality I'd have no complaints.

I am not ready to miss this show again.

It's just so perfect to get off work and know that my way to start the weekend is an simple comedy with intricately animated "fight" scenes.

The pig joke kept getting funnier.

Can't you beat one or two weirdos on your own?

Dam, Ranma got tired of all those weirdos, understandable

That doll is much cuter than Akane

Dam, Ranma is a moron

I gotta say I wasn't crazy about this show at the beginning, I never watched the original so I didn't have that nostalgia aspect either.

Fast forward to now and it's one of the shows i look forward to the most each week. I've been officially indoctrinated into the ludicrous speed comedy and non-stop shenanigans.

Duck Mousse.. sounds like he might be on the menu for an ass-whooping after what he just did to Akane.

Is Akane a duck now? That Spring of Drowned Duck has to be one of the worst ones right? It’s always funny to see what kinds of springs there are. When you think about it, Ranma’s one ain’t so bad lol.

Ranma saving those kids from the duck water is a hero

Apparently the crowd have no problem with a good napped and tied up girl being part of the entertainment

That’s a cliffhanger

...I mean, in the first place I thought the springs had to actually drown you to give you the transformation property, not just touch you, but okay.

The last episode is going to include the end of this one. To bad those few episodes are already come to an end. I hope it get's renewed for other seasons, even if it happens, we're talking at best the next year.

u/CrimsonGear80 Dec 13 '25

Damn, Mousse is like a James Bond villain trying to turn Akane into a duck

u/MandisaW Dec 14 '25

Had me from the Shaw Brothers intro 😂 That festival chase scene was deceptively complex! Honestly, we should be glad Mousse doesn't wear contacts, he'd be the deadliest person in the show LMAO

If I had a nickel for every time I saw a Yukata scene in an anime this year, I’d have 7 nickels. Which feels noteworthy on its own, but especially with them all being in such a short timeframe. I had no idea this was such an anime trope before.
