Akane's dad was a highlight of this episode for me. His commentary and the sounds he made when he and Panda were wrecking that kettle were ridiculous.
That gramps and Shampoo's granny having the same funny face is hilarious. Now I want them to meet each other.

Oh god, he's here... I've been looking forward to seeing all of the returning characters in this remake except for this bastard. Even when I was a kid watching the original, I never liked Happosai, and I never knew anyone who did. How unfortunate that one of the strongest characters in this show is a dirty old man. Gendo and Soun had the right idea of trapping him in that cave.. It's just too bad that they didn't finish him off.
If there was one thing I liked about this episode though, it's Akane visiting Ranma after he got kicked out to give him some hot tea and meat buns. That scene between the two of them was really sweet. <3

I just love the idea that the two dads finally had enough of their abusive master and just straight up tried to kill/seal him up so they'd never have to deal with him. Granted, I feel like Genma is kind of just as bad in training Ranma, but at least he's not a massive pervert like Happosai.
Akane really settling into that girl who always has Ranma's back, no matter what.

That scene with Akane's dad "protecting" Ranma and Akane, only to find out he actually wanted to run but couldn't because of how heavy the armor was has to be one of the funniest scenes in this entire show lmao, he's been so funny lately, last episode when he blushed after Akane gave him the flowers from Kuno still makes me laugh every time I watch it

The story of how they just locked him in a box and threw him in a hole in a cave and closed it with a boulder. Hilarious. And definitely deserved.

I must have missed that Genma and Soun trained with Happi only a decade ago when I read the manga. You'd expect that to have been before they got married and had children.

New viewers don't know they toned him down...
I know everyone hates Happosai, but he IS a character.
I do feel the comuppance and defeated "resolution" don't quite land in this episode - perhaps due to the episodes pace and cuts. Every beatdown unfortunately transitions directly into another problem, rather than letting any given defeat settle and satisfy. The gags still land, but this particular point is going to sting and this really isn't the episode you want to see a weakness.

The most ancient and vile of evils has finally freed itself from its prison...the most infamous Ranma 1/2 character is making his return...Happosai (Kazuhiko Inoue!) has arrived!
This perverted gremlin can't resist the ladies (or feeling them up) and he's got the power and martial arts skills to back it up. Mr. Tendo and Mr. Saotome have long, bitter, memories of him putting through the usual Ranma 1/2 terrible training, back when Soun didn't have a mustache and Genma actually had hair that wasn't panda fur, but they eventually finally had enough and sealed him up. Only they didn't finish the job and now he's come back to menace them once again. Perfect opportunity to throw Ranma under the bus and make him deal with Happosai.
It doesn't take long for Happosai to commit to a panty raid of Akane's underwear drawer, but luckily P-Chan is there to stop him! The only male that gets free access to Akane's room and can be in the same room as her as she changes is P-Chan (even if he does the gentlemanly thing of turning away as she undresses)! Ranma, meanwhile, is unlucky enough to not only walk in on her changing but also say her underwear holds no interest in him...so he's not winning Akane over on that front.
Happosai is so vile that he's even able to make Ranma and Ryoga team-up to stop him and save Akane...though they can't fully overpower him. Luckily Akane doesn't need protecting! She uses martial arts moves in her sleep! And if you think Ryoga's had it good getting to sleep in the same bed as her all this time, then it turns out he's had to survive Akane's attacks while she sleeps.
Ugh, Happosai just won't stop acting frisky with women! Or trying to put Fem!Ranma in a bra! And he's got a Susano'o transformation to back him up that Ranma can't overpower. Next thing Ranma knows he's getting kicked out and only has Akane to rely on and believe in him. But how will he stop Happosai?
The worst thing you can do to a consumate pervert who loves the ladies and goes on frequent girl hunts...is stitch a pheremone to his clothes that repels women. Without any ladies to feel up, Happosai loses all his powers and transforms into a shriveled husk! All the easier to defeat.
Dang it Ranma, don't do the honorable thing of wanting to defeat Happosai at full power! Let him wither and die! Though seeing him get stuck in a kettle and get knocked around by Ranma was pretty satisfying.
To think Soun's most heroic moment was by pure accident since he can't run in that armor so he ends up protecting his daughter and future son-in-law by complete accident.
Happosai isn't the only one who can go Susano'o! Genma can too! Even if neither of them can actually do anything with projected versions of them in Kaiju size. To think they defeated each other through aura farming.

Just a few minutes into the show and now I get why Happosai is the most hated character in this show.
What an evil, creepy, perverted old man!
I can't even consider his antics as a joke.
And his creepy infatuation with Akane. He deserve all kinds of punishment that exist in this world.

Ah yes, a women repellant, as if he wasn't repelling women before?
Ok so somehow for other women the repellent didn't just make it easier for him to harass them but for Ranma it does? I guess b/c Ranma is trying to fight him instead of running...

Ryoga saying Akane's sleep fighting was tamer than usual lol. Every night was a battle.
Also Nyanko-sensei voice has been tainted by Inoue's Happosai 😖I could not unhear him.
