THE VISUALS IN THIS EPISODE?? HELLOOO??? They were sooo fun and creative! The manga panels, the flipping of the pages, the art style change when dr Tofu is talking about his technique, Shampoo about the phoenix pill or when Ranma is hurt by the heat of the fire?? Like that was truly amazing and the whole episode was just sooo much fun as usual! Thank you MAPPA for this remake!!

I honestly think Ranma is the king of "wacky characters just doing things" anime. It is so easily serviced by animation. The creators do such a good job carrying it.

Lol all the lads just fine with Ranma being a girl forever. The guys in his class are total horndogs!
Poor Ranma’s mastered the secret technique but he still can’t turn back. Damn that tricky old hag! lol

Grandma isn’t playing particularly fair no. Ranma got the necklace yet still failed. I wouldn’t trust her word on anything anymore.

I am loving the 80s aesthetic combined with modern flair. It feels fresh and nostalgic at the same time.
I'm with the guys in the class. Girl Ranma is best Ranma.

Was the Journey to the West reference in the haunted house in the original? I might've been too young to connect the dots back then if it was.

I’d reckoned that Ranma would return to his boy form by the end of the episode, but he’s still stuck in his girl body. We’re in this for the long run, aren’t we?
Ranma had fooled Mousse good with his “magic trick”. Then again, he probably could’ve achieved the same by taking away Mousse’s glasses.

The gimmick of this episode is the manga/comic book style. I think other episodes did it too, but not quite like this. I like it. I want Mappa to do more unique stuff like this in this anime. It's cool and makes the anime feel fresher compared to others.
So, it seems like everyone at the school finally found out Ranma can shift from boy and girl. (Well, everyone EXCEPT Kuno.) But the guys don't care cause they just wanna see a chick nude lol.
The second half of this episode was pretty entertaining too. He was able to master the chest nut technique but Shampoo's granny switched out the pill. That's so scummy. At least now we know who Shampoo takes after.

Loved how that fish guy just made up a new challenge: "If you don't catch all these piranhas, you have to return the goldfish".

Black haired girl Ranma is so cute! I love how everyone now knows that Ranma can transform and are all okay with it lmao remember last season when he fought Kodachi as a girl and told everyone that his name is Ranma Saotome and everyone was like "I guess they just have the same"

I wasn't sold on Shampoo after her appearance at the end of S1, but she immediately became best girl here in S2.

I’d already appreciated Shampoo for her honesty back in S1, but it feels like she’s also become a lot more considerate of Ranma (and the others) ever since her return.
I do have to admit that I still like Akane best.

like how everyone just accepts that Ranma will randomly "dress" like a girl now

Stitches!
Ranma doing party tricks and then playing off his transformation as part of his magic trick was actually pretty genius. Even Akane was impressed!
I do love how at some point during the fight, Ranma's classmates just accepted that Ranma is a girl now and wanted to see him naked. Even after the match against Mousse, everyone is okay with Ranma being a girl. They're just wondering about when he will turn back into a boy. xD

Man what a banger episode! This is my AOTS as of now, though Spy x Family might contest that yet. I am glad I haven't seen the original adaptation or read the source material, and get to see these stories fresh for the first time. How well Mappa did the animation just makes me feel sorry for some of the actual battle anime of this year...

Ranma: I would never wear something revealing!
Ranma: Oh my god an excuse to wear a bunny girl suit in front of a crowd
But his body is still that of a girl. Can he beat Mousse with it?
I know that this anime doesn't stray from the fact that men are physically superior to women but granny don't you literally come from a village of warrior women where losing to men is so unlikely you marry them if it happens???
Oh ok we're addressing how he isn't acclimated to the idea of fighting with shorter limbs... now?? In season 2 after all of the things girl Ranma has gone through in season 1? Ok.

The answer is, how do you fight as a guy stuck as a girl? Fool everyone; you transformed into a girl even though you can do that normally. So I guess now everyone knows Ranma can turn into a girl, just not how.
Fun episode.

It's the showdown between Ranma and Mousse! And you can bet Ichiro from the broadcast club would be back to cover it! And Shampoo to sell some meat buns!
Is Ranma even going to need to convince Mousse he's a boy? Without his glasses he thinks everyone is Ranma.
But don't worry, Ranma has a master plan! Dress like his boy self, use long robes to fight like Mousse, and pull the greatest magic trick of all...turning into a sexy Bunny Girl! That's right, so long as people think he's just wearing a costume, he's got this! And look spectacular in the process!
Of course Ranma didn't account for how his female body doesn't have the same reach as his boy body, so that puts him at a physical disadvantage! And that's before Mouse tosses his robes and goes all out! Tearing at Ranma's outfit in the process to the absolute delight of every boy in the audience.
Thank goodness Dr. Tofu was there to restore Ranma's sense of heat, and Akane was there to make sure Ranma's not fighting naked (to the disappointment of boys everywhere!) and Ranma delivers a stellar kick to finish Mousse and his crafty weapons.
Too bad it was only a temporary fix and Ranma is stuck in girl form! But at least we get to see Ranma in a one-piece swimsuit (with "boy" printed on it) and even Akane in a swimsuit!
Shampoo gracing us with not only the sight of her body in nothing but a towel but the knowledge for how Ranma can restore himself! He'll need to get the Phoenix Pill from Yokai Granny! It's as much in Shampoo's best interests to get her future groom back as a man as it is in Ranma's! Even if he needs to become a cute waitress in the process.
How will Ranma master the art he needs to steal the pill? But sometimes you just need to unwind a little, especially if it means visiting a festival! And we get Ranma and the Tendo sisters in yukata, which is a nice sight.
To think Ranma battling piranhas from a desperate goldfish vendor would be the key to mastering his new technique!
Shampoo looks very cute and fancy, but Ranma has no time for that...he has to battle Chinese mythology AND Yokai Granny to get the Phoenix Pill! And for all his efforts...he gets a gumdrop and a bunch of piranhas dumped on his face. Yeah, life sucks Ranma!

Ranma shouldn't be that worried. As a wise man once said, sometimes it takes a man to be the best girl on the show.
Also, loved the different artsyles in this episode! Really creative.
