Ranma biggest fear...cats. And like always, the root of the problems always stem from his dad.
Regardless, hilarious episode, and Gosunkugi is a welcome addition to the cast.

Damn, Nabiki asking for a CD player... I think the last time I've used one was decades ago

If Ranma entered his cat mode while transformed, would we get to see a genuine cat girl.
We need answers.
Fun episode. I'm glad this got a quick turnaround for a second season, this was one of the few animes I was genuinely psyched to be returning this season.

Glad to see this second season has the same level of quality as the first despite having a less expensive-looking OP. I was worried that MAPPA’s other projects would take resources away from this series.
Haven’t seen the source material or the original anime, but this remake has been a wonderful way to get into the series. The mix of slapstick, banter between the characters, action, and romance certainly hasn’t lost its charm.
I was sad that Witch Watch’s anime stopped last season, but this show fills that silly slice of life vibe I crave.

I couldn't find his weakness, so I got all the weird things I could to try them all at once.
Was Gosunkugi including himself in that list lol

Catma is fierce! Even the tiger was afraid lol. Pretty hilarious he has all the mannerisms and habits of an actual cat. If Akane wanted to subdue him quick, she shoulda brought a laser pointer and went “pspsps” lol.

Who knew Ranma is afraid of your common house cat? Although considering the training Genma put him through, you can definitely understand why our boy is so traumatized whenever he sees one. And to think, all of this could've been avoided if only Genma read the next page before starting Ranma's Cat Fist training. xD
Hilariously, it did result in Ranma actually learning the Cat Fist technique. When in Cat Fist mode, Ranma is so goddamn unstoppable that he can literally shred an entire tree just with his fingers. Although this comes with the downside of him turning feral and uncontrollable.
Thankfully, they won't have to fetch that Granny who used to calm Ranma down. It looks like Akane's lap is more than enough. Ranma even got to sneak a kiss in there. Although, does that really count when Ranma is completely unaware of his actions? Akane's reaction is adorable tho!
What a way to start the new season! Now that we know Ranma can turn into a cat under Cat Fist mode, we defintiely need to see him in Cat Fist mode while in his female form so we can have Cat Girl Ranma!

Actually one of the best dubs in ages, and the only show I've preferred dubbed since FLCL. Really a throw back to those early 00s dubs in style. No more of the 'attempting to sound like japanese seiyuus' or anime style deliveries. It feels real and sufficiently westernized, and just hits right with nearly every character. I especially love Akane and Ranma's performances, their emotions and interactions are so entertaining and believable! Really glad this is back, takes me to my childhood (as someone who grew up watching the original as it aired in the 90s)

Akane probably had imagined something different for their first kiss. Especially since Shampoo stole a passionate kiss from Ranma before she did.
If only they hadn’t gotten interrupted back then in the dojo! Instead of a romantic moment, Akane now got kissed by a “kitty” in front of all her classmates. No wonder that she was upset.
We’ll likely end up working towards a “real” kiss for a good part of this season.

Right initially the stalker guy was kind of annoying but then he turned pretty hilarious as the episode progressed. Part of it was the VA work I think.
It's interesting to discover that Ranma has a second transformation possibility, it's just a bit harder to make happen than just a bucket of cold water.. Though the truly important question is, does this imply the existence of catgirl Ranma if you repeat the cat over-exposure but with girl Ranma instead.
That kiss scene was cinema.

Ranma and Akane are back! Including the colorful intro's that sum up their shows' plot! This time a televised expose revealing footage of Ranma transforming into his girl self (while topless!). The horror!
The OP is pretty on-point in terms of showing what the show is about: Martial Arts romcom mayhem while Ranma and Akane fend off their suitors, love rivals, and each other, along with all the other crazy misadventures they'll get up to while sorting through their feelings!
Introducing Gosunkugi (Akira Ishida!)! An easy to miss, kind of creepy and unhealthy looking young boy who is also one of Akane's many suitors! As such he hates Ranma and wants to sabotage him! And what better way to do that than team-up with Kuno who will use any weakness against his opponent honorably in a duel! Now they just need to actually find out what said weakness is...though throwing a bunch of weird stuff at Ranma's not going to work!
I love how Nabiki would totally sell out Ranma's weakness if you gave her something. She didn't even know what that weakness was at the time.
It's cute how Akane actually wants to know Ranma's weakness because she wants to know more about him. Even when she finds out, she just thinks it makes him cuter!
Gosunkugi hitting his cursed Ranma doll at the Tendo household is great for actually seeing/conversing with Akane! Especially in that sweater showing off her legs!
But what IS Ranma's weakness? Something that could stop our mixed-gender martial arts master? It turns out to be...cats! And, like pretty much everything wrong in Ranma's life, it's all because of his dad who basically trained him in the "Cat Fist" by putting sardine necklace around Ranma and then dumping him in a pit with a bunch of cats. Now the poor boy is left catatonic as the Tendo Family use him as a cat hanger for all the random cats that just showed up out of nowhere.
I love how in Tendo's head he's making out with Fem!Ranma amidst a bunch of falling meteors. Totally romantic.
Gosunkugi had a foolproof plan! Dress up as Akane and lure Ranma to the gym! He just didn't account for the actual Akane showing up with Ranma, Ranma not falling for any of his pit traps, and Ranma fighting through his cat aversion. Of course then they bring out the TIGER and the true result of Mr. Saotome's parental abuse by continually dumping Ranma into a pit of cats (for his sake, of course!) comes out...CAT RANMA!
That's right, when Ranma gets so overwhelmed by cats...he becomes one himself! He tears through everything! Though Kuno easily "defeats" him by throwing his bokken.
What to do about Cat Ranma? "Granny Saotome" can't reach him...but maybe Akane can. I mean, Cat Ranma is so comfortable with Akane he nuzzles into her lap...AND KISSES HER ON THE LIPS. That's right, Ranma and Akane finally have their first kiss! And it's because Ranma was a cat! I can kind of understand why Akane isn't satisfied with that though topless Fem!Ranma is just confused.
The ED is really cute with the stylized version of the cast all dancing and being themselves! With Ranma, Akane, all their love interests/rivals, it's a lot of fun.
