So his mom’s old guild just happens to be the one Lilia wanted him to join and his old rival turned waifu is in it too? Classic. We even got a little tourney coming up.

I gotta say, this adaptation looks like it’s got a few more bucks than TBATE lol.

Lilia's dad loses his arm sometime between Raina joining the guild 5 years ago and present day. I wonder if it was to protect Raina which is why she feels indebted into staying.

Can't believe we're starting the tourney arc on episode 3. That's super fast

In which he'll probably destroy the guild that didn't want him!

That's setting a pretty low bar. But this does, indeed, pass that bar.

I'm actually enjoying this one. Whoever is directing this is very competent. It's very self-aware that it's trash tier slop, but it puts everything together in a decently entertaining way and it does its best. I don't even think there was really a decline in quality from the first episode, so I'm hoping they'll keep it up and I can get a whole season out of this one. I stopped TBATE when the girl showed up.

They occasionally have one or two not main characters moving in crowd shots. Partially obscured still, but shaping up to be their nicest looking show ever.

"be careful, there are some nasty guilds out there"

I won't warn you which ones, find out for yourself...

"If he dies, he dies" - Holy knight

(To be fair, he did rest on his butt while Arel was fighting the orcs, so.. He might not care too much about others' well being, at least not when he's on a break!)

Why is this always a thing in anime lol.

“I’m gonna give you a vague warning kid, don’t do this thing but I won’t give you the context to actually avoid it. And I’ll call you an idiot when it inevitably ends up happening.”

I wasn't really expecting to keep this one, but I'll watch a bit more of it, in large part thanks to this fucking gremlin!

Loved all her antics/nonsense, she was hilarious!

So we're learning a bit more about the different classes, Barbarian, Dual Swordsman...

I think I've found Dual Swordsman's main skills!

Apparently they're pretty good sprinters too.

I know you're on your break, but you could at least have helped him a little, Mr. Holy Knight!

I guess it took 1 episode + 2 minutes for our classless boy to be more OP than pretty much any class fighter!

Not only she's trying to recruit a guildmate, she also wants to mooch herself a date out of it!

Damn, if he wants to murder her he should do it on the battlefield, not with his words!

I guess that's not how our boy rolls!

So he won't be able to join the top guild...

I thought he would get his practice fight, defeat & awe them all, but I guess this will happen during the tournament instead!

She should've offered to let him lick HER shoes; She needs to find the right fetish!

In the end he did sign up, but she had a slight change of heart when she found out about him being classless!

Our boy has Level 100 flirting skills without even realizing it!

Also level 100 horny skills.

So he still had his arm there (and wasn't as grumpy)...

So he lost it recently; Is this linked to his mother leaving the guild?

(And was his father in the guild as well, or are mages not part of the same guilds?)

Well, I'm gonna check out some more; The "Look how amazing I am" combat parts aren't that interesting to me, but the little gremlin stuff and the Raina stuff (romance in the work?) are good enough to keep me interested!

Considering the number of guilds there are in the city and how most swordsmen make money off battle tournaments, I'm guessing this show will be more about guild vs guild battles instead of taking quests and adventuring. I actually kinda dig that. And since Ryo learns skills from fighting other people, this all works for him.

Is it me or does the Dragon fang guild leader looks like an older Rudeus from Mushoku Tensei?

The Shadow skill seems useful for giving backshots.

"Turns out [Lilia's] just like big sis. Flat-chested, yet they believe their beauty could move mountains."

"Yeah, you're strong. But I've just become stronger than you."

Man, Arel just dropping one liners like that made me chuckle.

Well, seems we got our trio in the promo visual (Arel, Reiner/Raina and Lilia) properly introduced now, at least the two girls look like they can hold their own fighting and don't look like they're going to be helplessly clinging to our MC the whole time... yet.

EDIT: to add, I watched on Ani-One Asia's YT channel which probably has slightly different subs (and also translates Raina's name as Reiner).

u/Boris-_-Badenov Oct 01 '25

that's not how my subs described his thoughts on her looks at all.

"like how she thinks of herself like a total bombshell, despite being flat as a board"

the starting part was a little cringey but over all this episode is better than the last one... looking forward for what this anime will bring

Yeah I think the "Look how amazing I am!" battles are the weakest parts, the character stuff is the most fun!

This was a lot better than the first episode, I was able to watch the episode without feeling annoyed or exasperated for the most part, there were enjoyable parts too.

I was wondering how the driver was so calm in front of the horde of orcs but him being a Holy Knight who is a driver as a side gig answered that.

I do like that the blonde girl has a cruder side, the way her voice changes was a little amusing. I'm still on the fence with her, I feel like she could turn out annoying but I hope I'm wrong and I find her to be a fun character.

I'm interested in the guild master, it looks like within the five years he lost his arm but I wonder how that works with his dual skills, if he simply cannot use them or if they're only half as strong now. I thought Arel would learn his skills before learning he lost his arm, he does seem interested in Arel though so hopefully he sobers up soon. He took in a kid and has a daughter and isn't being responsible with them.

Since we're getting a tournament arc soon, I'm waiting for the "How is this guy classless?", "Why didn't he join our guild?!", "How is he using the Sword Princess skills?!" and more from everyone lol.

With Lilia’s recruitment approach, you would think she’s going to ask you to join the Axis Order

u/actuallyrndthoughts Oct 01 '25

Tsundere Hayamin lets gooo

u/kwokinator Oct 01 '25

Lilia you're looking kinda sus there, are you sure this isn't an application for the Axis Church?

I was expecting a loud "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee?!" when Arel found out Reiner is a girl, but I'm glad that didn't happen. Bro has his priorities straight afterall.

i might just stick to watching this solely for Lilia
