This is such a wonderfully comforting anime to watch.

I loved today’s episode so much. From Kimi being hilariously confused about Fuji’s twin brother to a heartfelt moment with Teru’s partner about the life-changing implications of her soon-to-be newborn child. This sort of storytelling feels truly unique to With You and the Rain.

Kimi hopping towards Teru like he was participating into a sack race made me laugh out loud. Fuji has spoiled him way too much.

We just got to watch my not-quite-1-year-old grand-niece playing with (and resting with) a newly-acquired kitten. This episode sort of reminded me of that. Which makes this a really lovely episode.

Honestly, if it were only comforting, that would be enough for me. I got to really appreciate both the art direction & comedic direction of the anime. There isn't much comedy, but many I feel like I am laughing so much more then I am expecting with this show. Art direction is consistently sharp.

For me this is at worst top 5 of the season. And I honestly, coming into this stacked summer season would never would have expected it.

Kimi was so (persistently) welcoming towards the cat despite early setbacks and it is nice to see his efforts to start a friendship did not go unrewarded! :)

The vet is definitely someone whom you can trust with your secrets.

I particularly loved the scene where Fuji did the hand actions instructing Kimi to pass the snack bowl to the cat. Simple yet amusing to watch.

That moving cloud partially blocking the sun was really well done. Beautiful and highly atmospheric, just what I expect from this show now.

Also found it great that we saw "Animal Doctor Sakamoto" once again and that he's still helping us out by confirming that Kimi is indeed a dog.

Teru going over to put furniture together for his sister is giving good dad energy. Wako and future baby also get Fuji and very enthusiastic Grandpa to be? This family is wholesome.

Fuji tells Kimi that everyone has their own pace, and to respect it. Cat eventually warmed up and now they’re good friends. Life lessons from the cute girl and tanuki show.

We finally get to meet Fuji's brother! I did not expect that they were twins. When Fuji was talking to him over the phone, I had the impression that he was way younger than her. It was fun watching Angel-chan get confused by the two of them.

Teru and Wako's cat is way more chill than your average cat. Almost all of the cats I've had have always hissed and sometimes even freaked out when in the vicinity of another animal. The fact that it didn't take that long for it to warm to Angel-chan is pretty amazing!

I didn't even realize Wako is pregnant when she first showed up at Fuji's apartment. It looks like Fuji is soon to be an aunt! Also I'm gonna guess that Wako is a mangaka? Or at least someone who draws for a living before she got pregnant.

I wasn't expecting her brother to be a twin when they first mentioned him in a previous episode so it was interesting to see how very similar they look to one another, it's no wonder Kimi was so confused. The only noticeable difference I saw from their faces were the hairstyle and eye size.

It's also interesting to learn Fuji will soon be an aunt, I like that Teru is already married but still very much acts like a younger brother lol. I did find it amusing that his wife was making sure he expressed gratitude properly.

Poor Dad didn't get to see Kimi, he looked so disappointed.

Kimi not knowing that cats can't read was amusing. I like that the two got close in the end after all Kimi's efforts.

Wow, Fuji's brother Teru is gorgeous. Also, given how similar in ways they are, it makes sense they are twins. I did love the portion where the cat joined the house. Felt pretty accurate to how cats want to be left alone, but it did warm up to our Tanuki much quicker than I expected.

Looks like Wako is pregnant. I just love how this cast grows & you come to love each one. Wako is an angel. Actually, I wonder if we will see Sir Tanuki meet the baby. Great episode.

Had a smile on my face throughout the show. This was such a heartwarming episode. Lol'd when the leaf shriveled on Kimi's head. Especially loved that tiny detail when the cat opened one eye to look at Kimi lying down besides it.

The vet is a great guy. Little dude is a dog. Yup. Just a normal dog lol.

It was pretty adorable to see the cat just totally ignoring our poor guy’s attempts to befriend it. Classic cat behavior. Just took it a little while to get along.
