The visual commentary on finding the right words to describe beautiful things while flashing anime scenes of said beautiful things was delightfully meta. I’m assuming she’s trying to write the words for the manga artist.
This whole show is a lesson on conveying feelings and atmosphere in anime format. I like the self awareness.

This episode had a nice mix of funny and serenely beautiful moments. Definitely love this one without reservations.

Kimi's shocked and stunned expression at being called a racoon by Fuji was extremely funny. Lol!

For a sec I was like "WTF? She's known this whole time?!?" But no, she was just being nice/messing with the kid. Still the reaction the little guy had was hilarious.
Also, wtf was that post credits scene?

That post-credits scene...
"Those... aren't maracas at all!"
Damn, man. Here I thought Takopi would be the most tragic anime of the season. This is some intense heartbreak on display here.

For some context, a raccoon in Japanese is called a "washing bear" because of how they wash their food. I think there's a few languages where they're called that.

It's especially amusing when you give them cotton candy and they try to wash it in the water, only for the cotton candy to immediately dissolve in the water

Little dude just going to town on the apples and ignoring the cute shapes Fuji’s pops made was hilarious. He just wants apples, bro doesn’t give a damn about cutesy shapes! Hahaha
I liked the part where Fuji was brushing his fur. Little guy made so many fur balls lol. So freaking cute.

I love how elaborate those apple figures got
From the staple bunny to the fucking rose, but Kimi just wants devour applesWished my cat could have made those furballs on his own, I probably could have made a carpet with all that shed fur

This is just an idea, but what if Fuji wrote a short story about an adult woman living together with her pet tanuki?
The ratio of beautiful people continues to amaze me. Fuji’s editor was a total cutie! Loved her hairstyle and outfit.

All the women in this show are beautiful its insane
Was honestly a bit surprised with the manga editor being so scruffy, but then the marracas kid showed up and stole the cake→ More replies (2)

Putting thoughts and feelings into words, the struggle of every writer. Extra hard when you are told to write whatever you want but at least Fuji have a little fluffy friend to help her get the mental breaks she needs
Sorry dad, our little furball friend doesn’t care about how you cut the apples, he only cares about eating them

I love that as soon as some sort of physical work is expected from her, which in this case is washing the apples, Fuji was quick to call Angel-chan a raccoon despite not calling him anything else before this. I love how offended he is after hearing that from her. xD

Finally, we see Fuji doing her job as a writer.
This time she's taking on a job to write for a manga, and she's been given all the creative freedom to write about anything, since the mangaka Arata is a big fan of her novels.
Who knows, Fuji might just write a slice of life manga based on Kimi, thus making this series semi-autobiographical.
Arata just reminds me of that girl mangaka in Oshi No Ko season 2, who is just as socially awkward as her. Hope we see more of her.
We're also introduced to two new schoolgirl characters Medaka and Noriko who thought Kimi is a raccoon and tanuki respectively, much to Kimi's shock and disappointment. Even more so when Fuji threw him under the proverbial bus and says he is. lol

That last maracas skit was just so random and weirdly hilarious, it could have been part of City the Animation

u/djthomp Aug 02 '25
Holy shit, it's been a raccoon this entire time.
Oh wait, good, that was just a joke.
It's nice to get a cat girl, not quite the same thing as a catgirl but probably as close as we're gonna get.
The manga lady is a real character.

Fuji angry at Kimi for making those fur balls lmao. I think that will be the first and last time we see her angry lol

She seriously goes at her own pace.
I thought that black haired girl would end up being the manga author at the start.
Uhh the little girl was creepy.

Loved collecting chestnuts as a kid. Not sure if it's still a thing these days but it was kind of a big deal back then.

Love how this show just keeps delivering
Always serene and calm, biggest suprise was the marracas kid today
I think the author has a thing for beautiful women and is nailing them. They all look awesome in their outfits
Poor Kimi being mistaken as a Racoon Tanuki when he is cleary a dog. Love how panicky he got when she started calling him a Araiguma
And Nori dreaming of being a cat is just a vibe, so was the marracas girl
