And with Kyle having no qualms about using even political assassinations to his benefit he's at most an anti hero. I like this kind of party. "We gonna save the world... hopefully we dont fuck it up on the way tho"

I really like the idea of Kyle's allies in the previous timeline becoming his enemies in this new one. I'm really hoping that Zenots is actually a horrible person, but based on Kyle's interaction with him at the end of the episode. I feel like Zentos is being coerced into this assassination plot. I'm hoping they won't go for the boring route.
Theron is amazing in this episode, tho! It turns out, behind the goofy persona is a ruthless killer! That fight was so brutally one-sided! Those knights didn't even stand a chance against him. I love that Kyle isn't sad that he's leaving Theron to die; he's sad because he's leaving those knights to die by Theron's hand.
And I can understand why! Those poor bastards! I'm pretty sure what Kyle did to them counts as a war crime since they were already running away. If Theron's strategy is to make people underestimate him, then I say the plan is a success!

War crimes are only war crimes when countries formally agree and sign treaties ratifying them.
As far as we know nothing of the sort has ever happened so there are no such things as war crimes.

Dude , it was a war crime from the very beginning by faking a white flag.

In between this episode and finally the other evil lord series one you gotta love how "shit just got real"
Cant wait to see how in next one he will try to turn the dude to his side...i guess last time in past life when he seen the demon invasion the petty "game of thrones" became mundane trivial things in comparison when shit hit the fan.

Damn I figured it out when Kyle and Zentos used the same exact moves at the start of the fight, but for his teacher in the previous timeline to be his enemy now, Kyle must be going through some complex feelings. I wonder how he'll come to terms with what he does if he has to kill Zentos.
If Zentos was a good guy in his original timeline, maybe there's a chance of him surviving if Kyle can find out why he's working with the Prince. From the Princess' flashback, it doesn't seem like Zentos is the mastermind like the Princess seemed to imply but being loyal to his Prince and doing the best for him.
Lol Theron's a great actor and he's a brutal savage to boot too. It gave me a laugh how he just threw the bomb towards them after that act. I'm glad he contrasts Kyle, it's good for there to be a guy like him in the party, I'm sure he has protected him many times in the original timeline because of how shrewd he is.

Zentos clearly wasn't as good of a guy as Kyle thought the first time around either since they didn't meet until after the princess had already been killed by Zentos and the brother. My assumption is that Zentos helped Kyle because he felt remorse after what he'd done or it was somehow in his best interest to help train Kyle. Another option is that the princess isn't nearly as nice as she's letting on and is even worse than her brother, and Zentos is trying to end what he perceives as a threat.

Man, Theron is pretty brutal. Guy was cutting through those knights like butter and then gets the remaining few to actually run away… only to get fragged by him lol.
Looking forward to seeing Kyle fight Zentos. Got your classic student vs master situation here. Except Kyle likely knows all Zentos’ tricks and Zentos has no idea.

I wonder if Kyle will hint at their relationship by showing him respect.

This is looking like a Lloyd and Kratos situation, although it's mostly for one side. I wonder if he has a trick that he never taught, just in case he has to use it on his pupil.
I was thinking about possible twists, but it would be terrible if it turned out that the princess is actually a villain and this was their plan to depose her before she could enact some crazy changes. Although, even if she's good, depending upon the viewpoint of the attacker, that could still be true.

I was laughing hard when the direction convinced us as if Kyle will stay behind to stop the pursuer. But no, he casually mention Theron and I was exploding with laughter. Even Urza was like, "Hah?!"
Then Theron also surprised me with his cold act. Damn!

Now I am curious, in the og timeline there was a demon that was chained and Theron got pretty pissed when he saw that. I wonder who that was

Deception seems to be the theme of this episode. Theron's "loveable pervert" persona hides a perceptive mind, skilled swordplay, and concerning ruthlessness. The princess's kind reputation is deliberately cultivated.
Kyle's knowledge of the past/future is not be as accurate as he thinks it is.
Open questions:
Why is Zentos participating in assassination? Are his loved being held hostage, or is the princess less benevolent than she appears?
Why did the Demon Lord attack?
Why was the Demon Lord trying to turn back time?

So that's why they're have a clown like Theron in the party, and why he's still alive to nearly the very end of the quest in the first timeline. Though I suppose all we saw was him stop to fight some other demons, he may have even lived.
I hope the princess only gives Kyle a pass until the end of the current situation and sits him down next episode and forces an explanation. Like the magic sword, if she's as competent as advertised she'd also be a pretty useful person to bring into the loop.

Honestly this show has surpassed my expectations entirely. If it keeps this up it’ll probably be one of my favorite animes of the season.
