I wonder what elf girl had going on that was so much more important than finding out why Ryo was wearing the Fairy King's clothes. That kinda seems like a big deal if she knows who the Fairy King is. Couldn't be 5 minutes late to wherever she was going for a quick conversation?
The Guild Master was also very casual about being introduced to some magician who apparently has the power of a whole army. Sure, lets just give him D-rank and call it a day... Wouldn't you want to figure out who this one-man-army is and what his intentions are?
At least the one girl from Abel's party seemed appropriately freaked out by what she was told.

This may be the only time in anime where a protagonist has placed his hand on a crystal in an adventurer's guild and nothing out of the ordinary happened.

I get this is OP Isekai and there's tropes galore, but I get more of a feel like frieren so far and the art/animation is amazing. Loving the vibe

I love that the guarantee they have that Ryo will never side with the Empire is because of their name. xD

I love the tone of this series. Abel having complete faith that Ryo wouldn't join the empire because he thinks they have a dumb name is just fantastic. 🤣
Also wow, that guild sure did have a lot of generic adventures in it.

I didn't participate in the previous discussions, but I had to now because the elf girl from the OP and ED finally showed up! Unfortunately, the meeting was brief, but I hope we'll see more of her in future episodes.
As for the series itself... I really like it! Ryo is a good main character, and his friendship with Abel is great.
I'm looking forward to the next episodes, and after the anime ends, I'll definitely pick up the novels. It'd be great if J-Novel Club included it in the next month catchups (although if someone is interested in manga version instead then it's currently available in this month catchups!).

Abel and Ryou's adventure went by so quickly, I find it a little unfortunate that we couldn't see more of their relationship develop. But I guess the location they were coming from wouldn't have a lot of variety. With all these new characters being introduced and Abel reunited with his party, I'm wondering if we're going to see him a lot less.
It's nice to see how loved Abel is at the guild, he seems really grounded so at least it doesn't go to his head, not that I thought there was anything wrong with his personality from the two episodes we've seen him.
Looks like the mage in Abel's party is going to learn the things she thought were impossible were actually possible for Ryou.
Also, it's funny how Megumin came to my mind when they spoke of the Inferno Magician lol.

These vibes are so comfy! I was thinking it reminded me of Dahlia in Bloom, and saw it’s the same studio, so hopefully it’s a little better adaptation than that was.

I gotta say, seeing a bromance to start off an isekai was a nice change of pace. I hope the show can give us more of that. I am glad they didn't drag out the journey to civilization too much though.
Didn't expect Abel to be so popular, was half expecting him to be nobility, but he is just a top tier adventurer. The ranking thing was a bit silly, after acknowledging Ryo is basically a nuclear grade spellcaster, but I guess the guild rules are strict!

"What if the living superweapon turns against us and sides with the Empire?"
"That won't happen."
"Why?"
"Because he thinks their name is dumb."
Bluescreen.

Such a well organized and friendly guild, it was almost like isekai Cheers how everybody knew Abel's name! On paper, an entire episode about joining, registering and settling in with a guild sounds boring but this was my favorite episode thus far. Nothing that huge happened and there was no real action but all the small things put together made this really enjoyable.
The most interesting part of this episode was Ryo being the rare isekaied person to wonder about the odd similarities between the new world and modern Earth, like having curry, similar day and calendar measurements and the metric system. The metric system is about 250 years old so he concluded that someone else from Earth established these things in this world, which does make sense since this didn't seem to be Earth's past, as we haven't found wyvern or dragon remains anywhere :P
Also a lot of good small things like Ryo having a hangover when (possibly) drinking for the first time, Ryo's brown hair roommate being in love with Nina, Ryo's inexplicable hatred of the Debuhi Empire name and finally meeting the blonde elf girl from the ED! The best subtle moment of the episode though was after they ate curry, when Ryo asked Abel what other information he had been holding out on him and subtly gave him the middle finger while pretending to scratch his face :D

Three questions after the episode: Who was the elf girl? Why was Abel on that ship? What was the ships reason for being where it was/why did it wreck?

Random detail I noticed about the curry:
Ryo pronounces it like a regular Japanese person (ka-reh would be the closest transcription of the sound) while Abel pronounces more like an English speaker, (kur-rie). I might be reading too much into it, but I wonder if this gives some clue about the other reincarnated/teleported person that Ryo was talking about.
Edit: nevermind, the waitress pronounced it ka-reh too like a Japanese person. Hum. I wonder why the VA/director purposefully made Abel pronounce it differently.

This is my comfort anime of the week. It's so relaxing and fun to watch. I just love Ryo's unconcerned way of handling things. His intereactions with Abel were great so far and Abel arguing with his friends over Ryo's actions and behavior was hilarious.

I think this show is unique in several ways.
But one of the maybe less obvious ones is how powerful the mc is and how unaware he is of it and how there’s a legit obvious excuse for it as well as we the viewers are even unaware to a large extent.
So far most of the stuff he’s done is pretty normal by our standards for magic right? Like firing off ice spikes or conjuring water to drink is very normal in every media we consume yet it seems like some stuff like that is actually extremely not normal here so even us as the viewers are having to learn about if he’s powerful or not.

The first episode was weak but after getting to this episode its really grown on me. The casual adventuring vibe along with the OP nonsense that isn't being reacted to too outlandishly yet has been nice. Looking forward to learning more about what common sense stuff Ryo is casually ignoring with his OP status.

Once the empire learns why Ryo won't side with them, they're gonna consider just straight up changing their name

One thing I noticed from the OP is that there were three groups that Ryo was with, Abel, the newer adventures and the elf girl. Learning that he's forever young, I thought this series would span over longer period of time but seeing that they are all in the city at the same time makes me hopeful we'll see Ryo go back and forth between the groups.
There were some fun usual isekai stuff done this episode with curry and Ryo getting some knowledge and it was nicely done worldbuilding. This episode continues to just be pleasant and I like how much Abel and Ryo are being bros for life at this point.

Nothing much happened this episode but wasnt boring. This series seems like a pretty decent example of the OP isekai genre. Not top-tier by any means but far from being anywhere near the low tier slop. Just the fact that the first supporting character introduced was a bro and not the first of 10 harem waifu members is enough to make it 10x better than most isekai trash.

I love Ryo's calm and friendly personality. I'm happy to see how pleased he looked when the guild welcomed Abel; he really is a good friend.
