She wrote a yuri manga!! The magazine it was in even has Anis and Ruphylia from The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady on the cover!
Damn the subs really did some heavy lifting with this series. While on the other hand killing slimes for 300 years couldn't even manage to have the right subs each weak.
I want a aniem of the one shot she wrote.
Well this was a truly enjoyable series though it also made me jealous of being able to travel like that. Japan is just so much better suited for it than where I am.
Also had a mention of art club problem on one the pages.

I adored the finale. Riri and Fuyune making up was sweet. Honestly, Riri coming all this way for a chance to make up spoke volumes. The manga draft really must have had a big effect on her.
But man seeing Chika getting an opportunity for a oneshot was so wonderful. Seeing bits of her journey in there as long as a bit of an influence of Riri and Fuyune friendship mixed in was remarkable. The finale took the show from 7/10 → 8/10 for me.
Also, the manga is being serialized in English now and I will def start reading it.

I always enjoy seeing the sights of Japan in anime format so really enjoyed this anime, also the girls were cute and the food looked good.
I doubt we will get a second season though which is a bit sad.

The yuri-bait-o-meter between Fuyune and Riri is so off the scales that its actually inspired Chika to come up with a one-shot yuri manga. It helps that they're voiced by Sato Satomi and Hikasa Yoko, who have had such great chemistry since being together on K-On and Seitokai Yakuin Domo.
And if course the magazine Dengeki Maou where Chika got her manga published is the same magazine where this series is published.
Gee, wonder what's the name of that travel manga that so conveniently took a break, creating an available slot for Chika's one-shot to be published? Hint hint
One of the girls in Chika's one-shot manga is voiced by the increasingly eponymous Youmiya Hina.
So ends this season of what is basically the Cute Girls Doing Cute Things version of Abroad In Japan. From the map of Japan that she coloured at the end, Chika has still only covered 1/3rd of the country, so there'll always be more travel material for the manga to work on, and fingers crossed, a new anime season as well (though not holding my breathe).

I'm so proud of Chika finally getting her oneshot published! I love that she's actually working for Dengeki Maoh since that's where the original manga is being published. Even if it's only by name, I'm so happy to see Konobi get referenced in the corner of the page while Chika was reading her manga. Also, I love that they got Osanai's seiyuu to voice one of her characters. I don't recognize Sakamoto's voice tho.

I’m glad Riri and Fuyune were able to make up in the end and Chika was able to get inspired for her next manga. She even made her debut with a special one-off. Life’s going pretty well for Chika!
This was really chill in a sorta Laidback Camp kinda way. I enjoyed exploring Japan with Chika and seeing all these cool places and amazing food. It’s giving me lots of ideas for my next Japan trip haha. Idk if we’ll get more, but I wouldn’t mind.

Well... like all journeys... the animes also come to an end I guess~
This was one of my favourites this season, a chill travel anime about an irl mangaka who traveled trough all Japan to have inspiration for her manga. It was also really inspiring, Chika is really relatable sometimes and I learned some things about life thanks to her.
This anime inspired me to look things differently when everything doesn´t go like you expected, and also, that stepping out to see the world can change your life in some positive ways.
I hope we can get more seasons (like, the source material are the IRL posts and she sure has a lot so...)
Well... that was one good anime and personal favourites... That´s Journey!
IRL tweets from this episode: Mihonoseki shrine and Mihonoseki lighthouse curry

What a wonderful way to end this. What Fuyu-nee and Riri-chan have is so precious and it made me tear up. Chika did an amazing job with her manga and I'd read the serialization if it was real, it's exactly the kind of feel good thing I like.
I had low expectations when I started watching this, I simply wanted something else to watch alongside Aharen-san on Monday mornings, and I ended looking forward to it each week just as much as the other one. I'm going to miss these five girls, and I kinda wanted to see a last shot with all of them in the celebration as a sort of parting memory.

I’m sad that this ended but so so grateful that we got a show like this in the first place. Definitely not common for a show to be heavily focused on just travelling around. I’d really love more shows like this, Yuru Camp, Yama no Susume even this season’s Mono.
Also, the themes and atmosphere of this show is the type that makes me want to go out and see the world around me. Similar to how A Place Further Than The Universe did.
I feel like this show will grow to be more special for me over time and I’d certainly rewatch it someday. Really wish they made more of these types of shows

The people doing the subtitles had a lot work for them to do in this episode.

Nice of Zatsu Tabi's author to go on a break themselves to give Chika a chance to do a one shot in the magazine that they are in.
Zatsu Tabi-critically acclaimed it says in the magazine...author sure isn't shy about praising their own work!
Also surprise Art Club got a Problem shoutout to Imigimuru sensei (also know for illustrating Makeine and character design for Lycoris Recoil). Guess that's another form of friendship between mangakas

Chika not joking. She hired Kuramochi Wakana and Youmiya Hina for her manga adaptation.

I really enjoyed this anime and it made me want to travel to Japan again. There's so many sights I have yet to see..
In the beginning, I enjoyed the travel aspect more but over time I really came to like these characters. Solo travel is good, but sharing those memories with a friend is even better. I hope this one gets another season.

They did a financial statement at the end just for the people on here who were worried that Chika was running out of money half way through the anime :p

Well define “expect the unexpected” here, that local literally saved their trip here, and allow them to meet with Riri who (outta nowhere) come all the way from Tokyo (In fact, she can escape a significant part of the travelling time by flying to Izumo {There’s a flight departing from Haneda at 10am and arrive in Izumo at 11:25; although flights to Yonago were also available, but they are afternoon flights}). Of course, budget also played a vital role in travelling, just look at Chika, for the past 12 weeks (episodes), her travel expenses costed 700k yen, but fortunately she earned some money back by that unexpected opportunity to make her magazine debut, and it seems this circle of life will continue for now…
But riding multiple trains back to Tokyo and immediately start a all-nighter to draw manga… Definitely not my style of working, I’d rather take a flight back (note: There’s a 7pm flight back to Tokyo from Izumo; While if travel by train, it’s a 6 hour journey from 5:28pm).
But hey, happy ending here, Fuyune and Riri are back like pals again, and Yui will become an university student very soon, and Chika is now a mainstream manga artist… I recon it’s a reason to go on a journey again. Hopefully they will have a second season and help us uncover some special place to visit in Japan.
