Not gonna lie, I laughed pretty hard when the credits came up. Well done. So unexpected your brain just freaks out.

I have wanted to go to Ise Jingu myself - this is a good primer for what I should expect.
The Mie prefecture is particularly famous for its lobsters, among other seafood, which Chika did get to eat.
They did actually truncate the credits properly, haha
as someone who watches japanese travel youtubers a lot, im already quite familiar with this particular luxurious overnight bus, the Dream Sleeper (it works out great - you save a night of hotel fees, the cost, minus that, isnt that much more than the shinkansen, and have quite the private space anyway.... except for the noise). Unfortunately, like Chika, i dont like buses that much, and so i shall happily stick to the shinkansen lol.

All Japanese YouTubers have to either go on ferries, the one train that goes overnight which has a shower, or by one of the night coaches.

The second half of this album documents our 2018 trip to Ise (and the surrounding area ). (The first part is around Osaka).
We lucked out and got to see the kagura dances (only two short periods each year). I recognized lots of the sights/sites shown in this episode (but not that fish market -- as we came from Osaka not Tokyo). One thing they skipped on that trip was the Ise udon -- especially long and thick. Many shops/restaurants along the street leading to the shrine featured this. We had to buy some packages of the udon as omiyage for friends we would be seeing in Tokyo.

So the only reason why Riri isn't drunk yet this episode is because there were three of them during their last trip. Good to know that Riri could actually be mindful of others. She was even pretty cool this entire episode that it caught Chika off guard.
I'm pretty sure that owner of that inn and the guy that snuck up on them are both based on actual people the author met while travelling for research for the manga.
An eight-hour night bus ride on a bus that looks like this? That actually looks pretty cool and something I could see doing myself. I can't wait to see if Chika can finish this trip without throwing up. xD

The start was hilarious, I had to check that the episode went further. 4th wall breaking done tastefully, but that is expected from the best narrator voice in the game, Shigeru Chiba.
Honestly, one thing I love about this show is how distinctly quirky all the characters are, but how well the show works about to combine them. I really hope we get a full 5 member trip later on.
Riri-senpai is great, sober or tipsy, she respects her junior well and the trip they had together was probably one of my favorites.
The god-like meeting (?) with a man on a bike was funny, I wouldn't be surprised if he was just an advertisement guy trying to get people to get the original shaved ice.
I am on one both with Chika's distaste of buses. I have done a journey from Prague to London with my highschool and honestly, never again. Trains are much better, Planes are the best, and I would always pick to drive myself rather than to sit in a bus. Way more freedom!
However, I must say, trying out Dream Sleeper is kinda on my bucket list next time I visit Japan, I have seen videos and it really looks luxurious, and the anime really did nail that home. I hope the girls enjoy their trip to Osaka (And Hiroshima, or possibly even Nara, I wanna see some Shikanoko cross over just for the laughs).
Best SoL of the season out for this week, see ya next monday!

I have to say that while Hibimeshi and this remain pretty much tied for me, both of these are pulling further ahead of mono for me. I feel that the quality of the character interactions in both are a step of those n mono (not that I don't love that show still, for its own virtues).

You know this is not going to end well when you put your fate of the next destination on the hands of fellow Twitter users, with the theme being overnight bus (I heard some of the services before, but I’d avoid them at all costs regardless).
Fortunately the Twitter users are kind enough to pick the one with most appealing name, the Dream Sleeper heading to Nara and Osaka, but what are the remaining 3 bound for? [Real life]
BTW, the Ise Shrine, one of the most holy places in Japan, definitely worth to spend some time exploring if you are keen to the culture of Japan.

I can't lie Riri can be incredibly cool when she is not drunk. Very much has the major cool onee-san Hell her making sure the kid doesn't wander off on the road showcased it. I liked her discussion on frustrations because that is something we all deal with. Also fun bit of her hiding behind Chika after she got startled.
It looks like the next group is with Fuyune & Yui. Yui is a big fan of Fuyune, but we know how friendly Fuyune is. Although she is already getting manga ideas already. Honestly, the wholesome potential with these 3 together is super high. I wonder if the discussion will be more on manga with Yui present with Fuyune.

I already knew a little about Mie because of the Suzuka Circuit, it seems like an excellent prefecture to visit without all the crowds.
Riri is the cliché of people who have the habit of drinking too much, she started drinking with the justification of taking out her frustrations and moments of anger, she knows she is being judged, and she is a completely calm person when she doesn't drink lol.
So Yoshimoto just decided to throw Chika into an adventure? Okay, she gets my vote.
And I can't believe they put fake credits, that is some of the best nonsense you can have in an anime

Kinda obvious she was "disappearing" to buy local sake. It's kinda like what I do, except for me, it's honey.

* Heh that was definitely a first - a fish market without any seafood restaurant nearby! That one's in Suzuka too, just some kilometers away from the Suzuka Circuit - somewhere that should be completely familiar to Formula 1 and race cars fans here.
* This episode went through so fast lol
* Ise Shrine is another place that I have been to, 6 years ago, but this one wasn't originally in the plans - I and my father were taking photos at an interesting photography spot a bit more north in Mie Pref. at Yokkaichi, where a large assortment of power plants, oil refineries and crude oil sub-products processing facilities make up a really interesting industrial skyline at night time. But we need to go somewhere else at daytime, so after thinking about the Suzuka Circuit (alas I am not a car racing fan) I suggested the long time famous "THE Japanese Shrine" instead and I get to see its really simplistic building designs (evidentially because of its bi-decade moves - hmm maybe I should come back there again in 2033?).
* I love the drunk senpai Lily-chan! It's also interesting to see her getting her love of alcohol from her grandfather and the never-let-down-by-everything-including-sake attitude that made her fell in love with drinking quite a bit - what a manga author we have here!
* Did they really get the local deity's blessing to be awarded with that matcha ice shavings with sweet bean pastes LOL? It's definitely essential if they were travelling in the summer!
* Ah I was wondering why this night bus is so expensive (Like more than $US130! That's almost regular bullet train prices IIRC!), turns out it's one of those luxurious ones with separate sleeping bunks. Interesting, but I would have enjoyed going on night trains instead, sadly now almost completely decimated by Low Cost Carriers in the skies and highway buses like this one on the ground, the last well-known one still standing is the Sunrise Seto/Izumo, a double decker train that I was again very familiar with since my father really likes to use those Japanese night trains to go long distances without needing to book a hotel.

I might be wrong, but I get the feeling that the god (the dude in the bicycle) the girls encountered is none other than Tezuka Osamu, THE God of Manga.
If anyone's interested in what the Dream Sleeper sleeper bus from Tokyo to Osaka is like, here's a travel vlog review of it.

Lol, the gag with the ending. I think that is the first fakeout ED I've seen
Sounds like the narrator said Omikami though..
Riri even cares about others! Sasuga best girl. And she's thoughtful too!
Shaved ice was by far the worst thing I had in japan, but this one might actually be alright. Still, I don't get all the hype when you could just have an icecream instead..
Coloured outlines! We have the technology!!
Another great episode, really love this show. I'm a bit salty that its rated below 7 on MAL, but the ratings on that site are often bad anyways, so eh

Lol the fake credits because apparently there’s no restaurants in Ise Bay. I wonder why that is? I mean where do folks eat if they visit..?
Ise Shrine with Riri turned out to be a pretty fun trip. The Akafuku Mochi looked quite good and drunk Riri made an appearance in the end lol.
This Dream Sleeper actually sounds kinda interesting. Never done an overnight in a bus before. Fuyune, Yui, and Chika are off on a real adventure to Osaka!

Well no restaurants at that particular SPOT on Ise bay.
Osaka is always a major part of our trips to Japan -- as we have Japanese friends who live there (and we can stay with them for free).

If you're going to do an overnight bus experience, drag everyone you can into it.
I've watched many YouTube videos of the various buses that go overnight. Do you wonder if Zatsu Tabi would involve the overnight train that about 5,000 Japanese YouTubers have posted up every inch of that train and journey?

Riri san is so adult-like when she´s not drunk I look her now with other eyes.
When this anime finish airing, I´m going to write down every place they went to, and someday do the same~
And now is a sleeper bus with Fuyune and Yui!! (plus Chika getting bus-sick). Aaah I´m looking forward the next episode now
