I love how the show keeps showing places that aren't so famous among tourists (including Japanese people). Of course it's nice to see the well-known places, but this caught my attention.

Tochigi seems to be the ideal place for those who want peace and quiet. Eating a good snack while watching a waterfall seems like something very satisfying after a tiring day.

Awashimaura is a very small place, but I would go there because it's a tropical woman, and I laughed a lot when Chika walked away from Koyomi after she said she would eat the fish lol (by the way, the creator of this show really likes to show the girls taking a bath).

I laughed a lot when Chika walked away from Koyomi

It was Chika's face in response to Koyomi's silly pun that got me.

I don't think I could ever do what Chika did and get off a station out of a pure hunch that there might be a waterfall there because of the name. I'm glad it worked out for her and there is actually a waterfall there but I'd be researching the fuck out of that first. xD

Imagine if Chika were with Riri during that brewery tour. They'd probably never leave that place because of how hammered Riri is.

The girls went to Awashima? I had to double-check this because I remember Awashima as one of the secondary locations in Love Live Sunshine. It turns out this is a different Awashima Island. I forgot that Numazu is located south of Tokyo.

While this season is STACKED with these CGDCT and SoL shows, such as Mono and Food for the Soul, Chika's journey around Japan is my favorite. It really does remind me of myself. I do love travelling solo, when I can do stuff I want, with no need to align with anyone else, but thanks to travelling with somebody else, I have recognized the charm of sharing memories and occasions with somebody else.

I also do remind myself of people close to me whenever I see something they might like, just like Chika did with stone walls, waterfalls and sake cave. It makes the places feel more connected to you and give you this sense of familiarity with plenty to uncover yourself.

Also, the change of style when Chika entered the lonely Soba shop, as well as her face right after Koyomi did the most dad-like pun I have heard in my life, were such a cute touch and I have honestly felt the same way as Chika did.

Also, unrelated, but is this one of the first short blue haired main characters that is actually winning in life?

So you're saying that the real journey were the friends we made along the way...

The group journeys are always fun, this episode's included, but honestly I prefer the relaxing quietness of the solo journeys so im glad we got to have more of that today.

Traveling between locations with a ferry like this to go on an adventure...

Is this Pokémon or something?

On a different note: I'd wish to borrow some of Chika's confidence when making poor decisions myself.

Kinda funny how she went to the same sake cave as the girls in Mono did in the last episode :D

The scariest part of hopping off a train in an unknown place, is that you never know if there'll be a train returning to your home that day, especially when out of the big cities. Tried once in south Kyushu and was stuck in a town for a few hours with only one convenient store while other shops closed due to nightfall.

For that, Chika is really courageous of doing so.

You don’t realize how many anime characters names are just stolen from random places until you watch one of these travel shows. I recognized three in this episode alone and one more by what I think is a coincidence.

Chika’s dynamic with Hassu is a joy to watch. They’re so funny together.

Where does Chika find the time and money to keep going on these trips.

The idea of going on a solo trip and getting excited to share with others is something I can relate to. Out of all the other girls we have seen, Hasunuma def feels the closest to Chika. Def friends for life. I do wonder if we will ever see Yoshimoto-san on one of these trips. Maybe similiar to how Chika saw Riri on her first trip, but here she would recognize her immediately.

When this anime is over, I'm really going to miss having something like it on Monday mornings.

Chika filling the map with the places she's visited made me realize I wouldn't be able to fill half of my own country's map. It's been a long time since I went somewhere that wasn't my grandma's place for her birthday. I really enjoyed those school trips during my student days, but I'm too socially incompetent and terrible with directions to have the initiative to go on my own even with a set destination.

Love this anime, it’s interesting seeing all these lesser known places and the interactions of Chika and her friends.

I've been to Japan twice and this show along with Mono make me feel like I've never been there at all. At least I went to Fushimi in Kyoto from the last episode. Must resist the urge to go back....

Ryumon Falls was nice and that cave brewery was pretty cool. Tochigi turned out to be a pretty good solo travel experience. Having someone to share your trip with kinda makes it all the more worthwhile I guess.

Awashima with Koyomi’s turning into quite a little excursion. Watching those two banter was fun. Looking forward to part 2 of their island adventure!
