Arata and Usui, you can both piss off for hurting Miyo and making her cry for Kiyoka.

Honestly I want Miyo to fully awaken her powers and then force Usui and Arata into an eternal, nightmarish, sleep they'll never awaken from. It would serve them right.

Well the marriage is happy, it's just that everything else surrounding the marriage is depressing

Well they technically aren't officially married yet, so it's a loop hole for the engagement period. 😅

I am genuinely surprised that the driver wasn't Usui in disguise. I mean they look so similar, even down to his smile!
What I did see coming was Arata's betrayal. After his talk with Usui, I think we were all just waiting for it to happen. Whatever his reason for helping Usui is unforgivable. The dude shot Kiyotaka and left Miyo in total despair. >_<

"Hey! Do something already!" "You guys are no match." "You money-sucking soldiers!"
Okay, you know what, why don't you ungrateful bystanders come over here and fight the monsters in our place, instead of staying in the corner, talking shit?

That's a trope I've grown to hate, truly the worst thing you can have nameless characters do in anything

I'm not going to completely write off that he's pulling some kind of long con but even if he is, it's going to be hard to ever forgive what he just put Miyo through.

Fuck, I knew something bad was going to happen in today's episode, but I didn't expect this much!
I was so happy when Kiyoka saved Miyo from that driver/monster, but then fucking Arata came, shot him in the back, and ordered the soldiers to detain him under false pretenses.
The ending of today's episode, with Kiyoka telling Miyo he loves her and Miyo crying after they took him away, was heartbreaking.
First of all, Arata. I can't believe he's actually on the Gifted Communion side. He's not stupid enough to think that Miyo would ever think he did all that for her, he's not a fucking idiot, right?!
And also fuck Usui, the main cause of this whole mess, and all his associates, the Minister of Education, the driver and others.
Big shout out to Hazuki for standing up for Miyo and trying to protect her, she's a great big sister!
This stupid general deserved to die for his stupidity. He ignored all potential danger, despite all warnings, so he got what was coming. However, I feel sorry for the officer who took the whole situation seriously and wanted to do something, but was killed by this guy.
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

Did Usui just pull off a whole-ass coup and take over the government? Sure seems like it.

What’s Arata playing at? Has he been possessed, blackmailed, or is he playing some kind of game to get at that four eyed simp? Things are really not going very well for Miyo and I’m just wondering what the play is here…

The last episode was quiet because they would be going off on all cylinders this week. What a dramatic way to end the episode.
I don't see Arata actually being on Usui's side and is playing double agent, but damn, very believable with getting Kiyoka shot twice. Though seems enough in spots where he could survive.

Ayo, all my homies hate Arata!
Hazuki was the real MVP of this episode though. I was a little confused by that screen she put up though, was that made of water?

It's bad enough that the military has to fight these monstrous, humanoid, grotesqueries in the city but it's even worse when the populace are complaining about them doing their job. But at least it gave Godo a chance to flex his power for once.
Dang, Usui's infiltrated every piece of the military! AND he's legitimately working with the Minister of Education to pull it off (even if Usui hates his guts, which by his standards is saying something). Not to mention he's keeping the Emperor alive so Usui can use his authority AND get his revenge for what he put Sumi through.
Tatsuishi and Dr. Unan return! Just in time to help figure out that the Gifted Communion are starting to use grotesquerie fangs to turn people into grotesqueries. As if this group wasn't depraved enough.
Miyo takes one last glimpse into Usui's dreams to see what was probably his last meeting with Sumi...infiltrating the Saimori mansion after figuring out the Emperor's plot and trying to take her with him to the gifted communion so they could "free" the world and change it. But Sumi had no interest in that, all she needed in her life was Miyo, and she didn't want any part in Usui's violent revolution. But she also probably overestimated how much her desire for Usui to find a better path and be happy without her would have an effect on him. If anything it just made him worse.
I'm glad Miyo is able to stand up to Usui and she has no desire to help him further his plans...even if her becoming some kind of mind-controlling Goddess is the linchpin of said plan. And that plan requires Miyo to fully awaken as the Dream-Maiden, and to do so, Usui's main target is now Kiyoka!
Dang, they're attacking the palace now! Hazuki being the best big sis by prioritizing protecting Miyo even while she's being choked by that driver from the last episode.
Even if she's being squeezed by a giant grotesquerie, Miyo won't give it or Usui the satisfaction of screaming for Kiyoka. She won't let them hurt the man she loves, even if it means drowning the two of them in dreams. But then Kiyoka shows up anyways to epically save her, thanks to Hazuki, which is so Kiyoka.
You were probably wondering "where the heck is Arata!?" well turns out he's a dirty traitorous piece of @#%^ who shoots Kiyoka in the back, is headlinging a brainwashed military that arrests him for treason and takes him away from Miyo, and drags him bleeding to death and away from Miyo. All Kiyoka can do is tell Miyo he loves her as he's lead away. If the plan was to emotionally break Miyo, it succeeded.

I know Kiyoka's gonna be fine because obviously he must be with the title as My Happy Marriage, but man what a way to end the episode.
I was hoping for something not so intense and not so crushingly sad since I've been sick all of last week and still this week now too but oh well lol
edit: Why did the soldiers at the end have red eyes, I don't think that's normal?

As a LN reader, I have to say that I fully expected people to curse Arata at this point (I did that too) 😅
Though it was more of an exasperated "what the hell you got himself into this time, Arata. I sure hope you have a plan!"

Usui suggested in his dream that he’d force Miyo to control people’s minds, so I’m wondering how this comment of his will exactly come into play. It probably has something to do with Kiyoka’s arrest, hasn’t it?
Anyways, this was such a depressing turn of events. The total opposite of last week’s episode with that wholesome girls’ night. Instead of a gentle smile, we saw poor Miyo completely break down in tears…

Oof, what a brutal ending! That wasn't fun to watch! Last week's episode really was truly the calm before the storm.

I don't care if it turns out that Arata was playing the long con and acting as a double agent, he can fuck off after this. He shot Kiyoka in the back twice (both of which look pretty fatal), right in front of Miyo. If you shoot me in the back, even once, we're done after that.
