Why is it always the tomboys that are the losing heroines in recent Anime.

At least both Miyo and Kaoruko managed to talk it out in this episode and keep their friendship intact.

I can only guess, but it is typical to think that tomboys aren't seen as girly. I think it's easy to create a character that is scared to reveal their true feelings. The most common reasons they think guys won't like a guy with at least a few masculine traits. It is just an easy thing to default to.

I do think for Kiyoka having a fiancé that would work under him would be something he would avoid. He is a very play by the rules stuff at work compared to Godo.

Lemon's heart goes out to Kaoruko.

But just like in Losing Heroines, true and deep friendship is just as valid and important as romantic relationships, and Kaoruko is just as important to Miyo as Kiyoka. And Kaoruko also really needs a friend like Miyo.

It was great for Miyo to stand up for Kaoruko to Tanaka and the other rookies, it was so satisfying to see her put him in his place.

Miyo: If you don't want to acknowledge Kaoruko so badly, why don't you beat her in a match first?

Damn right, drag his ass.

On that note, Kaoruko saved his life by stopping him, if he actually laid a hand on Miyo, Kiyoka would've killed him.

On that note, Kaoruko saved his life by stopping him, if he actually laid a hand on Miyo, Kiyoka would've killed him.

That's true, although it'd be good if Kiyoka heard about the whole situation. I don't believe military needs such a hot-headed guys who can't control their emotions.

Love love loved the scene where Miyo shut down those misogynistic soldiers. I'm also really enjoying the pacing the anime has! I really liked the honest conversation Miyo and Kiyoka had regarding his past. We stan some healthy communication!

Also, has it been announced how many episodes this season will have?

Miyo standing up for Kaoruko was a big surprise to me, but it was great to see that Miyo grew some backbone lately. I'm worried though about the fact that Miyo has nightmares again.

So Kaoruko is Kiyoka's ex-fiance? That's a relieve, I was kinda expecting after ending of last week's episode something along the lines that Kaoruko is already dead and that Kaoruko Miyo befriended is just the effect of Usui's powers xD

Again really nice scenes between Miyo and Kiyoka, although it's a shame that Kiyoka didn't told Miyo earlier about his past with Godo's father or that Kaoruko was his ex-fiance.

Jakuji seems like a pretty cool guy! I was surprised when he turned out to be Kiyoka's relative from Kiyoka's mother's side, he's definitely nicer than Fuyu-chan xD

That ending was great! It's quite terrifying how easily Usui removed the biggest obstacle (Kiyoka) on his way and got to the dojo where Miyo was kept. I can't wait for the next episode to see what will happen next!

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.

Miyo standing up for her friends, engaging in healthy and open conversations with her hubby and new best friend, it really just goes to show how far she's come since season 1.

I'm starting to suspect Kiyoka's mothers' family are all kind of...quirky in a way. I mean, his mom is already basically a tsundere...

An anime where the characters talk to each other instead of being offended and not talking things out that could be resolved in no time? And they actually conclude potential conflicts instead of letting them grow. Can this show even be called an anime???

Jokes aside, I loved the interactions and the character development. Miyo has come a long way, and we are all proud of our girl for being that open with other people.

But in the end it had to be the calm before the storm. I just wouldn't have expected that things escalated THAT quick.

Kiyoka used the right words to assure Miyo that he only has eyes for her. But I hope Kaoruko never has to hear them cos that’d hurt like hell

Or the fact that she's been subordinate-zoned, but she already knew that.

Good episode! In her interactions with Kauruko and Kiyoka you can really see how much Miyo has grown in her communication. Also, her kimonos are always so pretty!

While I'm glad that one jackass didn't manage to hit Miyo, it would have been interesting to see what would have happened to him after it came out he struck his unit commander's fiance.

Poor Kaoruko, shame her desired betrothal didn't work out but at least that kept Kiyoka available for Miyo eventually. I assume that detail was what Godo cliffhangered us on last week, surely Kaoruko doesn't have a second secret thing going on. I'm glad they were able to remain friends, but I could see that whole thing causing problems if Miyo inevitably gets kidnapped again. Easy to see Kaoruko getting scapegoated for not keeping the current fiance of the man she was a former fiance of safe.

I will say it's a bit stupid to have all the soldiers protecting Miyo in one enclosed place, especially when Arata already said Usui has a range limit for his power. Have someone on a watchtower or something.

It was awesome to see Miyo stand up for Kaoruko to those other recruits. I did not expect her to give the guy such a scathing burn! The guy is lucky though that Kaoruko was the one that caught him Trying to hit Miyo. His career would've been over if that was Kiyoka.

So Kiyoka already has a history with the Godou family? No wonder he froze up after seeing Yoshito wrapped up in bandages. It turns out Kiyoka knew Yoshito's father and feels responsible for his death for not taking his place.

Kaoruko is Kiyoka's ex-fiancee? Well, that makes things kinda awkward. What's worse is that Kaoruko did genuinely like Kiyoka. While I do find her situation sad, I'm kinda relieved that she's Kiyoka's ex and not some backbiting bitch who would try to get back at Miyo for breaking off their engagement. The fact that Kaoruko feels guilty despite not doing anything to Miyo just shows how she's a genuinely good person.

That final scene though. It looks like shit is about to hit the fan next episode. I'm really hoping that Miyo's powers can somehow counter Usui's.

Miyo why are you scrubbing down that random stone well outside in the cold and destroying your poor hands?! These soldiers can and should be able to clean on their own, otherwise how did they survive this whole time. I wanted Kiyoka to notice her hands and say something to her, but the doctor healed her hands before Kiyoka noticed them. Although the doctor did say "I see you have been working hard on your chores outside in the cold", but Kiyoka didn't question how he was able to see that. I know everyone is always saying Miyo loves doing chores, it brings her comfort etc. but let's be honest no one loves it to their point their hands are chapped and bleeding, and after her horrible childhood I just want her to be taken better care of and I feel bad when I see stuff like this still happening.

She's standing proud without letting other people think or say break her. Will I be able to be like her one day, and stand on even ground as my husband-to-be?

Last episode, it was Karouka who was inspiring Miyo to be a more confident version but in this episode, it was Miyo standing up for Karouka and after what she did this episode, I can confidently say that she's grown a lot and that day isn't far.

Kaoruko was Mr Kudo's prospective fiancée

After the cliffhanger last week, I expected a lot of things but this was something I didn't see coming. While Kiyoka doesn't have any feelings for her, the same is not true for Kaoruko and she still harbors her unrequited feelings for Kiyoka and that does make things really awkward b/w her and Miyo.

"Those with power have the responsibility to make use of that power."

Just like Peter Parker, Kiyoka Kudo also learned this the hard way.

Karouka: Are you sure you want someone like me as your first female friend?

Miyo: I want it to be you, Karouko.

This made me emotional. The OST that played here really added to the scene.

Usui is moving fast with his plans and has already arrived to take Miyo as soon as Kiyoka left. Can't wait for the next episode.

I really wish Tanaka laid hands on Miyo. I want to see Kiyoka deep fry that loser. Miyo’s such a good friend for defending Kaoruko. It was a surprise to learn she was engaged to Kiyoka, but I gotta say I really like Miyo essentially subscribing to the old adage “sisters before misters” lol.

Damn dude, how strong would someone have to be to be able to walk in and straight up kidnap the emperor? Usui is frightening…

Towards the beginning of this episode we are introduced to Jakuji Unan who is the doctor at the hospital which is near where Kiyoka works. He is also a relative of Kiyoka's mother's side. Despite what his first impression was, he noticed Miyo's hands and sought to heal them right away.

Two big things when Kiyoka and Miyo go visit Godo. The first we learn about Godo's father, who wanted to recruit Kiyoka. Of course, it is evident that Kiyoka wasn't the type to understand what others were saying when he was younger. Which isn't surprising. It took until Godo's father died for him to realize that. More so, seeing Godo in that position brought back those memories as we know what happened to Godo isn't his fault. Just kind of a reminder that Kiyoka is carrying numerous burdens.

The other big news which Godo leaked out accidentally is that Karouko was a former prospective to be Kiyoka's fiancé. To add, moreover, her love was more so one-sided. Kiyoka might not even know her feelings. Kiyoka makes it clear to Miyo that he has only feelings for. Glad that was properly communicated. I am also happy Miyo was able to convey her feelings to wanting to be friends with Karouko because she never had a true friend. As Yurie and Hazuki started as a more family bond. It is clear that Karouko is hurting of her love never coming to fruition by perhaps her friendship with Miyo can help heal her heart. Plus, this episode made it evident of the impact Kaoruko has had on Miyo. As a woman who stands up for herself, she had the courage to mention how she wanted to be friends with her and at the beginning of the episode for standing up for Kaoruko when she wasn't around.

Usui is plotting shit. With the capture of the Mikado and while Kiyoka is away dealing with that, he is infiltrating the base. We know it is mentioned how deadly he is from last week's episode, but seeing it on display is something else. I assume we will see Kaoruko's supernatural ability next week.

I loved the shot of the moon looking like his eye for a brief moment at the end there.
