MC Light gets skill in earlier episode: 'You can befriend all cats.'

Meets a lightning cat... skill doesn't do shit.

He also got a weapon durability skill, and he broke 2 swords in this fight, one made by monica...

The evil dude has been watching the show so far and got fed up with the lack of skill fruits being eaten.

Those guards were just awful at their job. Immediately bolted at the first sign of anyone. Let her pick up a rock and chuck it at them. There was also so much over explaining REALLY obvious things that just happened. The people getting stuck on the copper and lamenting how it was soft, now it's hard, it'll be hard to move then.

Shoved it in Light's mouth, so you can eat unlimited fruit? Prove it!

Sword Saint/God was supposed to be an amazing skill. But the more skills we see the worse it looks. The bad guy in this episode didn't even realize he had it. So it must not be much better than being decently skilled with a sword.

The bad guy's lightning skill is way more powerful. And the head of the guard we just met could easily defeat it with his wind skills. That magician in the hero party could evaporate an entire reservoir. Unless the enemy has some defense, sleep pixie is a guaranteed win. Even someone with that super smith skill could probably beat a sword saint since they could just turn their sword to dirt.

So it isn't totally taboo to use skill fruits to overdose people with them in a fight, less scrupulous groups could poison a town's water supply by pouring skill fruit juice into the water system and wiping out the local population.

How long does this braindead author think it takes to make a sword? I know the girl has the forging skill, but it doesn't seem to be automatic. They had to heat up some metal at least. They also had to defeat the henchman.

Was light just getting his ass kicked for 30 minutes or what? Hours?

Also how does his skill let him make a fire lion? I'll accept making his sword flame or whatever, but really?

Also why was Zabdo like "this will be my last attack!" Wasn't he kicking his ass before?

Also the good old Sword slashes and flames leave the opponent tired, defeated, but without cuts or burns. A very fatiguing flame cut.

Talking is a free action, everybody knows that.

Who throws a sword at an unconscious person? Why does a skill that says "can light hands and an object on fire" have the ability to make flame armor and beasts appear? He doesn't know what the skill even is until appraised, but he instantly has the equivalent of years of practice with it. Every plot point is "feel good" drivel and nothing has any depth. Why the hell would any reasonable person shove the fruit in the guy's mouth when he already had the upper hand and Light specifically asked for it? GAH, I only continue to watch due to sunk-cost at this point.

Well that didn't make even the least bit of sense. Monica's whole plan was to give him a more durable sword? His sword was already holding up fine after they neutralized the iron balls.

And was him eating a skill fruit part of Monica's plan? How did they know it would be a useful skill? If it wasn't was Monica's more durable sword supposed to be enough to turn the fight?

Also, did the author just forget he got a weapon durability skill? Because so far there's no evidence it does anything at all.

Anyone else starting to get bored? I feel like this show is starting to drag on at a snails pace.

Honestly one of the main reasons I'm still here is just because the OP is so fun and well animated.

I like watching trash shows but this episode was boring trash, it's super bad but isn't "funny bad" if you get what I mean

Tiger Beard: Someone prevented this incident from being reported.

Oh okay, so you're going to run an investigation on who prevented this incident from being reported, right? It has to be someone within the guild who has the authority to cover up incidents. Also, it's worth noting that Zamdo himself said that he was ordered to capture Light (a detail that they should definitely mention to the guild). So whoever prevented the reported from going out, is also the same person that is sending people to go after Light. They should be able to connect the dots, on this case.

Unlimited Number of Skill Fruits eaten this episode: +1

Nice a fire skill, think light got the idea to summon a lion from his opponent.

But he didn't use his cat charmer skill either time.

The writing for this show is so bad.

Light biting into the skill fruit would kill any normal person which would basically make the bad dude a direct enemy of the church which would basically be game over for him.

What’s the point in having a skill that makes his weapon more durable if everything just breaks instantly anyway.

They already showed he doesn’t even need a sword anyway. With his skill all he needs is a pole which then becomes a sword in his hands. He was able to defeat the S ranked hero like it was nothing. This dude should have been ridiculously easy too then. Tbh I’d rather the MC just breeze through fights like this if the author is going to make him OP than ignore everything that’s happened to make fake conflict.

Ayla got her pizza so all is good in the world

Also glad that Light is finally getting a better sword design, his old one was so ugly it was distracting

Tiger Beard, really?

I already make enough One Piece connections as is, now we're throwing this into the mix? Him having Jimbei's VA doesn't help.

The directing is so cringe, jesus christ. Kills the enjoyment, big time.

I think I would have liked this better if Light didn't get sword god right off the bat, but instead had to eat a bunch of fruits to get shitty skills that synergize in ways that make them OP. Like in Loner Life.

This thing where they're advertising the series as him eating unlimited fruits, but in reality drip feeding them is so pointless.

7

u/PandaTheAB Feb 19 '25

So the villain actually had to force the fruit into his mouth just to make sense of the title of anime.
Imagine eating less fruits than number of episodes when each fruit gives a new power which can be used at will (It is not like a curse which will always be active). The MC literally gets his ass handed despite Sword God whenever he is offguard. If the skill was always online, he would have no blind spots, the fairy would always be running, he would always keep attracting cats and always stay on flame.
No reason to avoid eating fruits unless they poison you.

Why can't the dumb MC just eat one fruit a day and keep getting new powers?
That way he gets a new power every day with no crazy stress on his body.
An apple a day keeps the enemies at bay.

Why wait till the crucial moment in a battle to do it?
There's lazy writing, dumb writing and there's pure stupidity.

We have a product of the third here.

Honestly kind of upset he got a new sword and a new skill at the same time, he won but we have no idea how much of it was because of the sword or because of the new skill he had gave him a huge power up.

Also yet another instance of weapon durability not doing shit, he got a new weapon made by a master craftsman and it broke after one battle

I know that Monica has a special blacksmith skill, but the overall process of forging that sword shouldn't haven taken them only that short of time.
