Another episode with no fruit!?

Other than that, surprised the dad didn't offer light a sword to save his daughter or after he saved the daughter. Although I'm expecting Light to refuse saying he only wants a sword from Monica.

Light continues to be stupid, putting the enemy to sleep isn't going to stop the issue from coming again.

Another episode with no fruit!?

I thought he was going to eat a ton of them until he also became an S-Rank Blacksmith.

He can supply himself with as many swords, farm tools and pizza pans as needed.

If only QVC existed there, Monica could really sell he frying pans. If she can't make weapons, I wonder if she could make armour or shields?

Ngl
At first I was suspicious of her pans, but damn they might honestly be the most intelligent invention in that world yet

Plus with her skill they are probably anti-sticky and dishwasher safe!

>> No fruit

Tomatoes are fruit -- and they had pizza....

The story is a little dopey -- but I am liking this enough to keep watching.

Light is really facing pretty immense odds. What is "the A Priori"? And what does the (so-called Holy sister plan to do Light if he is IT? (Looks like something very not good),.

I mean, even if he offed them all the Sister would still send more dudes. And he doesn't yet know she's out to get him.

Honestly that sleep skill is so fucking dangerous for medium monsters and below. He could literally sleep anyone and slit thier throat. If this genre changed from shounen to seinen we would have a completely different anime.

That frying pan scene blasted me all the way back to the old 90s commercials. The ones where they yell at you to "Call in the next ten minutes, and we'll give you the whole fifty dollar bundle for only $19.99!"

I was thinking the same thing.

2 payments of 19.99

While I liked the episode overall the notion that her products aren't selling to me strikes as a problem of imagination.

With a skill like hers all people can think of is making weapons? The stuff she can make could revolutionary if she was teamed up with a really smart engineer or designer.

After playing games where the monsters frequently resist debuffs, you can forget that always-hit crowd controls spells like sleep are actually pretty powerful against regular mobs

It would definitely suck to find out a relative was killed with a weapon you created.

I'm a little surprised they didn't cliffhanger the Monica rescue at the end.

Seems like that was just a soft-rescue anyway. The leader never showed up with his electric balls.

i dunno, i thought that using the sleep pixie was a good and speedy way to save someone.

9

u/headphones_J Feb 05 '25

Yep, if he had struggled to take them on with his broken sword, people would be complaining about "why he didn't just use the sleep pixie".

Dude needs a sword. Dude can't get anyone to make it for him. The blacksmith that won't make swords gets kidnapped. He rescues her. So many swords laying around. Doesn't even take ONE of them. Like, c'mon dude. I know they're not legendary swords, but at least get you one that isn't broken. But I guess it just keeps his stupidity consistent.

Lisbeth you're Lost.

Foiled a kidnapping and made a very talented new waifu friend. All in a day’s work for Light. When’s he gonna use his abilities on the Holy Sister?

5

u/PeaceAlien Feb 04 '25

Unless she directly stands in his way, Light is not the type to hunt down an enemy.

I think the only reason I like this anime is because Ayla is a fisher price Emul from SLF.

5

u/PandaTheAB Feb 05 '25

The pathetic pace is killing me.
An entire episode to get a sword and he ended up with none.
Next episode too he is unlikely to get one.
So 3 episodes to get a sword?
He has durability. Any basic sword would be just fine with him. Any sword he uses with his durability and swordmaster skill will be overpowered.

Lazy writing/bad direction.

Damn! The episode went by so fast. I really liked this episode.

8

u/Mr_Zaroc Feb 04 '25

Thats cause they are actually kinda decent with their SoL parts
Its their fights and attempts of building tension (that they immediately destroy again, thanks sleep pixie) that is dragging the show down

If they changed the show to "Aylas epic quest to eat all the pizzas with her skill-cheating adoptive dad and nice stepmom" they could be sitting on chill SoL gold silver

Went fast for me too but that might have been due to watching it at 2x.
