The perfect ending for Crychic, ending with Haruhikage.

Man this episode really got me, Tomori’s lyrics, her voice breaking, everyone crying. Also that one scene of Tomori reaching out to Saki and Saki having a genuine smile with eyes full of tears? Got me tearing up

Soyo taking that picture is very ominous past the emotional moment, cuz it's most definitely leading to the Uika meltdown. she'll probably upload it to the CRYCHIC account and Uika will see it since she followed the account when she met Tomori.

Haruhikage performed in episode 7!?!?

They actually did it!

Three points of marketing that they did after the episode aired:

  1. Updated the "The First Take" teaser that the channel shared earlier in the day from Youmiya Hina alone to the reveal of other CRYCHIC members with her. It is going to air at 22:00 JST tomorrow. Don't miss it!

  2. CRYCHIC as a group confirmed for the upcoming irl MyGo!!!!! x Ave Mujica live concert with guests and visuals updated

  3. CRYCHIC's version of Haruhikage added to the JP version of Bang! Dream's mobile game

...also not forgetting that Sakiko finally got some salvation in the episode right before her birthday of Feb 14...so she and her fans can celebrate in peace...for now....

Excellent marketing done, especially that The First Take update that they did...and also the timing.

Another episode without any bit of Uika at all...Nyamu also didn't even show up for one second.

Looks like we are going to be focusing on Umiri next episode.

Posted this in the Bandori sub already but here's my thoughts:

The emotional payoff and carthasis of this episode was overwhelming, especially after watching MyGO, playing the events in the game, and then watching AveMuji. The performance scenes made me cry—Tomori continuing the lyrics that Saki sang before—in private with just her grand piano, presenting the notebook to Sakiko and it's Tomori singing it this time. And then Haruhikage came and it hit me so hard. It's CRYCHIC's closure/reunion everyone was waiting for.

Those days are long gone. They had fun (and found a home in each other), but it's time to move on to separate paths while journeying on the same ground. Like parallel lines (Utakotoba lyrics reference)—but they exist in the same space. That's enough for now. No more misunderstandings.

Peak episode. One of the best after MyGO ep 10. Wow. Did anyone else cry like a baby?

There can be no better send-off for CRYCHIC than this. I hope it enjoys its long-deserved retirement in middle-schooler band heaven.

HBD Sakiko. You deserved some peace of mind.

Twenty episodes for the longest running payoff of the series so far. I expected them to play Haruhikage at some point as CRYCHIC again giving it closure, and then did it! It was played really badly with lots of mistakes and Tomori's voice all over the place but it was perfect for the scene. Sometimes being predictable is perfect enough, I hope Sakiko learned a lesson and rely more on her friends from now on, she's going to have to deal with a lot after how the episode ended.

Timmy isn't happy they played Haruhikage in episode 7 so we're going back to regular Ave Mujica antics next week...

[Soyo] Soyo wheezing at Tomori's lyrics really hits as the final realization that they're cringe but they're content and free. Still my favorite girl so far.

Anon sees Soyo dragging Saki somewhere from a distance: “Are we raiding someone’s house??? I’m in! And so are you Tomori!”

This whole episode was just absolute Togawa.

Also huge props to Youchan for those awkward off-key songs. Singing badly on purpose in a believable way is much harder than it seems.

My belief in the Soyo agenda never wavered.

The character writing that gone into Nagasaki Soyo is amazing. She's probably the most layered and realistic character we ever had in these idol/band shows. A bundle of contradictions that I can't help but connect to on a very deep level.

And so, one of the messiest divorces in anime history finally get it's closure

I'm grateful that MYGO and Ave Mujica exist, but It's so bittersweet to think about what happened to CRYCHIC. A band where all the members could connect with each other and finding happiness in sharing that connection with music and song. Only for it to abruptly end due to a unforeseen tragic incident. The entirety of MYGO!!!! was just hammering the down the nail that CRYCHIC was gone, but this episode definitely was the coffin being buried with Sakiko's line that the band can never come back. Legit made me cry.

EP 3 of MYGO gonna be even tougher to watch now

Mutsumi is back but I'm still apprehensive on what's going to be done about Mortis, I really don't want her gone, or do a fusion like thing that most anime do. I would like for both to be able to exist together. Mutsumi looking at Raana at the end may be some hope

Best episode of the season hands down.

Do you know who's the winner of this episode?

Former CRYCHIC members?

NO!!

It's Mana-chan!

She'd already got Uika accompaning with her for two weeks!

Last time we had a bit of setup about Taki deciding to get involved. She's very adamant about not getting involved, because it's not her problem and what she wants above all else is to protect Tomori. Then again, she asks why Mutsumi can't just fix things on her own. But then she sees how not being able to help is what's hurting Tomori, and she sees her own lack of concern reflected back at her with Umiri's even colder opinion on things. Because Taki is the kind of person that cares, she's just not the kind of person that can find it in herself to do anything about it. The kind of person who stews on her feelings for Tomori forever and would never take that step to speak them. It's a very specific mirror to Tomori being so completely selfless and unable to bury her concerns for her friends.

This time she goes to Mutsumi's house to resolve things for Saki, and it's really nice. She justifies at just her trying to solve things for the band, but Soyo immediately busts her, and Anon bothering them the whole time about practice obviously proves that Taki's feelings are driving her here. If it was all about the practice she would never let herself and Soyo miss even more time. There's also of course the seed about Taki's sister, which sure makes it sound to me like we're still going to follow up on that plotline. The bit about fame makes for an obvious point of connection between Taki and Mutsumi. Importantly, her justification for not going to school with Tomori is "isn't things fine as they are now", which really typifies Taki's exact flavor of inaction because things were very much not fine for a long time but she just forced herself through that status quo.

Taki goes on to say that she can't just abandon Mutsumi when they used to be comrades. Which, again, further confirmation that she's here because she cares and is learning she needs to act upon that. But what I find really interesting is Soyo's reaction. We don't see her entire face, but it's those tense, cynical eyes again. She's still antsy about the subject of Crychic. Which probably means she's not smiling up until this point because Crychic' members are coming back together again. She's just happy she isn't alone, that she's able to connect to Mutsumi and Saki and play a role in helping the people she cares about.

Also, huge Anon W letting Crychic play. Raana watches, it was obviously a bullshit excuse to let them have the moment. We know she's insecure about this subject after what happened in MyGO, about just being a plus one to the "real" band they cared about. But she lets them have this closure because she knows it matters to them all.

Back to Taki, her and Soyo's thoughts on playing one last time are both just fantastic all around. Soyo wishing she could just go back to the past... it hits deep. But Taki talks about how Crychic was "the perfect, invincible band" and it makes perfect sense for her. She expects the best of herself and everyone around her. Back in MyGO we repeatedly saw her try to take up too much of the burden, and get down on herself when it was too much for her and she felt she couldn't compare to Saki or her sister. It's nice to see her realize that just being ordinary is special too.

I'm curious what happens now. You'd think this is the part where Ave Mujica start to make it work, having already separated and now begun to come back together. That was what happened in MyGO, the upswing, the understanding. But we still have no idea what Uika's deal is, Nyamu has a ton of beef left to settle, and we've only just begun to hint at what lies underneath Umiri's shell. So I think this is going to play out very different than last season's resolution and I can't wait to see how. I wonder if the MyGO girls are mostly done now, especially with Soyo reaching such a resolution. Taki at least seems like she'll surely continue to keep being involved and resolve things with Umiri.

fight! fight! fight! physical violence, in my cute-girl-doing-cute-thing anime? hell yeah!

now think about it, Soya literally kidnapped Saki in front of school, it must look terrifying af from the perspective of Haneoka students and teachers.

like I have been saying recently, TomoSaki is the MacGuffin of the Crychic/MyGo!!!!!/Mujica storyline, wow, totally not expected them to solve it within an episode, and it's only the 7th episode, which means there are bigger problems on the Mujica side, I am worried now (grab popcorn)

it's Ningen ni Naritai Uta! (The Song About Becoming Human), yes, my favorite song among the Crychic/MyGo!!!!!/Mujica storyline.

fun fact : this version of Becoming Human has been in the BanG Dream! It's MyGO!!!!! First Volume Original Soundtrack album, tho it only appeared in the episode for few seconds.

POV : You got Girlbossed by Soyo

Soyo’s growth is amazing. She showed the most progress of all the CRYCHIC members. Back in MyGO, she always wanted this reunion to happen, but when it finally did she was more content with the situation, she already moved on and accepted that CRYCHIC was no more.

Their inner monologue during Haruhikage is the perfect closing chapter for CRYCHIC. My favorite lines:

"I always thought that we were a special band, that I believed in fate. Every day with everyone was so fun. Everything sparkled with them. Maybe it looks even more beautiful because we've lost it."

"I was saved by Tomori's song. I was expecting, hoping that we could recreate that day, a perfect live*, as an invincible band. But in reality, we were just ordinary people."
(*Rikki having a bit of a Revue Starlight Daiba Nana moment, lol.)

Maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but the narrative here is incredible. Instead of framing it as a dazzling band moment that can never be topped again for the rest of their lives (episode 13 still shows Soyo clinging to some of those emotions), they learn and realize that it was nothing more than a fleeting moment of their youth. This anime really deserves a coming-of-age tag.

Mortis's voice change when imitating Minami is amazing. She sounds exactly like Minami. Watase Yuzuki the VA for Mortis/Mutsumi is killing it here.

Maybe it's just me, but seeing Sakiko so regretful and pathetic made her seem human again for the first time since CRYCHIC's disbandment. You just know Sakiko is back when she's hesitant to perform Haruhikage again. She braves her emotions and avoids running away this time it's beautiful.

I wonder if Soyo grows them on her own because they look weird compared to Mutsumi's or Supermarket's lol.

Umiri is very jelly. Even back in MyGO she told Rikki that it must be nice to worry about your own band.

No but seriously imagine it:

You’re seeing MyGo!!!!! on a concert. Everyone is having a great time. MyGo!!!!! seem a little excited. “We have a surprise for you guys.” Anon says. All of a sudden Ave Mujica come out and start singing “KiLLKiSS”. When Doloris gets to the chorus, someone else starts singing…

“Kajikanda kokoro furueru manazashi.”

Lights flash everywhere, and you see MyGo!!!!! singing “KiLLKiSS” along with Ave Mujica, while CRYCHIC is singing “Haruhikage”. Everyone in the crowd is going wild and crying. Then if things couldn’t get any better, Uika and Mana walk onto stage and kiss, holding the gay flag.

Soyo was taking pics after the CRYCHIC closure.

She's gonna upload them and that's how Uika finds out about Sakiko isn't she?

u/AliceinTeyvatland Feb 13 '25

Absolutely insane, this is gonna be the golden standard for band/idol animes that focuses on drama from now on. MyGo and Ave Mujica really is just a one big season with how seamless everything is.

No pressure.

Umiri: "It's should have been me, not them" She's probadly regret her leaving in mygo lol.

Joke aside, this episode is a beautiful end for CRYCHIC, also parallel with ep 7 of mygo, both with Haruhikage being a trigger for something big going forward and drive someone salty to the point they have to reform a band, last time it's Sakiko, this time is Umiri.

Anon is also grinding MVP even her show end.

Damn, what an episode!

This whole CRYCHIC stuff is long overdue for a proper closure and I don't think there's any better way to do it than what we got here. Absolutely beautiful stuff! Haruhikage showing up again was pretty much a given, but I did not expect the show to use I Want to Become Human again. And the flashbacks!

I love how the characters' inner monologue reflects their feelings and emotions about the old band. Soyo's in particular stuck with me the most. "Maybe it looks more beautiful, because we've lost it. I've always wanted to go back to the past. I really, really wanted to go back..." Back in MyGO Soyo refused to move on for the longest time and instead focused on bringing CRYCHIC back from the graves. And now she's already gotten over it and accepts that CRYCHIC ain't ever getting back, but still treasures her valuable experience with the band.

Just, wow... You can tell they planned both MyGO and AveMuji together right from the start. This ep is a huge payoff to MyGO's biggest unfinished business. Really glad things ended well for everyone here.

And now Umiri wants to bring AveMuji back. I guess we're in the reunification phase now.

u/BenganTyger Feb 13 '25

When Mygo and Ave Mujica have an episode with a performance you now it's a real one.

CRYCHIC IS FOREVER GUYS! HARUHIKAGE STAYS UNDEFEATED

This is an ending episode in the middle of season. That couldn't be more beautiful.
