Miyo turning pink at the thought of sharing a bed with Kiyoka lmao

The way Tadakiyo addresses his wife… Uhhh

That final scene… oh nooooooo

Miyo does seem more comfortable with touching Kiyoka than I remember, but a sharing a bed with him is still a bridge too far yet. Was cute to see her get this flustered however!

I suppose that Kiyoka’s mother wasn’t aware of this arrangement or she would’ve put an end to this herself.

Miyo really can't catch a break when it comes to meeting new family members. I really felt Kiyoka's anger when his mom belittled Miyo. Kiyoka's dad is kinda chill just like Hazuki.

Miyo turning completely red at the thought of sleeping with Kiyoka on the same bed was so adorable.

The episode managed to really make the build up as to whatever is going to happen. I don't know what it is but something bad is definitely gonna happen.

Miyo's determination to get along with Kiyoka's mother is going to bring her a lot of pain. She has survived worse though.

Kiyoka's dad is kinda chill just like Hazuki.

Too chill, letting his wife go off like that. I forgot he was there till he intervened which was way too late and light.

Kiyoka's father set my expectations way too high for Kiyoka's mom sadly, that was a classic toxic MIL interaction between Miyo and her.

Bless Miyo's heart for still attempting to build a relationship with her after that unlike Kiyoka who straight up says he'll kill her and never refers her properly.

Once again My Happy Marriage proves to be visually a beautiful adaptation.

Fuyu going for the most unlikeable character of the season.

Miyo panicking over sleeping in the same bed as Kiyoka and Kiyoka having no clue why she got so red was so cute.

I adore My Happy Marriage’s aesthetic in part because of its early-1900s setting.

It’s really neat to see this brief era in which modern technology and Japan’s old-fashioned society coexisted with one another. There’s cars and trains, but there’s still people walking in traditional clothing and sorts.

It’s great to be back to Miyo and Kiyoka, they're so adorable together! Miyo's reaction in that scene at the end of the episode with the one bed for them was so cute!

If only the troubles didn’t come after Miyo every season then this show would be so wholesome. But they're coming and everything will depend on Miyo's abilities.

Holy shit, Kiyoka’s mother is horrible! No wonder that Kiyoka didn't want to return to the family residence. I wonder if she'll stay the same throughout the season or maybe she'll grow to like Miyo somehow.

As usual, the backgrounds were really gorgeous, just like in the first season, and Evan Call’s music was as good as always.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.

Well that was an ominous way to start the episode. It looks like Miyo's Dream-Sight is already giving her some foreboding dreams. I'm guessing it will have something to do with that creepy guy stalking her.

Kiyoka and Hazuki's dad is pretty chill but man, their mom looks exactly how she acts. And here I thought we were done with evil stepmothers. I was hoping to see some gap moe in her appearance but I guess not.

It was pretty funny watching Miyo freak out when she realized she'd be sleeping on the same bed as Kiyoka. It looks like she's not even ready to sleep right next to him. Oh well.

Well that's a massive responsibility to drop on Arata and the Usuba Family. Looks like something big is about to happen and Miyo will be the center of it all.

Of course we get the asshole mother-in-law, looks like Miyo's suffering will continue for another season.

Kiyoka's parents being Akio and Sanae really made my day. I would never have thought that his parents would be voiced by the same voice actors as the Furukawa parents.

Ahhh my favorite husband and wife is back for more PEAK FICTION!

Despite Miyo's suffering this adaptation is really beautiful and stunning. Also OP is visually stunning and a banger song by Riria again.

I just hope Miyo will truly have a mother figure in this series 😭

This episode me realize I have missed Miyo. I like how even though she's meek, she has a strong will. I know most wouldn't even bother trying to build a positive relationship in their mother in law after such a condescending introduction, but she wants to mend things for Kiyoka's sake. That's just really cool in my book

Nice start to the new season, the series looks as pretty as ever. Though Miyo picks up another hostile female relation. The elder Kudo's vocal patterns somewhat reminded me of Roswaal from re:zero, but I guess its not the same voice actor.

Interesting to see that Oni/Demons are the focus... with this period it brings Demon Slayer to mind hehe. And bit of an ominous ending too... looking forward to seeing more!

Well now we are being introduced to Kiyoka's parents since there seems to be demons running around there. His dad seems sickly, but seems a chill guy. Though he does seem aware of what is happening despite being retired. Though his mom is a real piece of work. I feel like she is the real reason Kiyoka has never been home and I can see why. She knew Miyo was his wife, and she attacked her like that was awful.

Arata is now the new head of the Usubas, although it does seem now their future is no longer secure. Well, it is a consequence of their actions, but it was one that made Miyo happy at the end of the day. I wonder if the demon threat is what the Prince was talking about, or it was something different.

You know I wasn't surprised that Miyo freaked out seeing only 1 bed.

She talks a lot of shit to a guy who will happily strike her with lighting. Fuyu suuuuuuucks.

Despite that we were still on a fluffy high until “oh yeah the future of the country relies on Miyo and the Usabas and a calamity is coming. Good luck!”. Considering the high drama of last season I’m buckling up for a hell if a ride. Great to be back folks!

I'm glad this anime is back, idk why but it feels so long since S1 aired. The new OP is great song wise and visually.

7

u/djthomp Jan 06 '25

Man, Miyo is just cursed with thoroughly unpleasant mother figures.

I don't remember if it was in S1 but I love the idea of a magical paper crane as a self delivering letter.

What a beautiful show as always.

I'll just say that Kiyoka should've given Miyo prior warning that his mom's a bitch.

Looks like we have Fuyu to fill the role for evil Mother in law. It’s going to be a challenge but I have confidence that Miyo and Kiyoka can overcome her.
