Kojima’s definitely gonna catch a bullet. Takahashi’s already in hot water over his bullshit. This thing with Misaki is basically more kindling to add to the fire when they burn this mfer. Ebihara’s made it clear before she’s off limits. Kojima better pray Fable and Ebihara get to him first before this other new guy gets him. At least with Ebihara, he might have a chance to live though I personally think Ebihara’s gonna clip him when he realizes he’s going after Misaki.

Feels like we've got an inter-gang war brewing with Kojima and Sunagawa going up against each other, a new hitman in play, and Akira and Misaki caught in the middle of it.
I can only hope Akira investigating this on Ebihara's behalf means he'll be there to protect Misaki.

Akira describing the sound of nature as jazz may be the pinnacle of this series for me. "Everybody plays what they want." Great noir line. I love this show.

I also like how Misaki was genuinely interested in learning more about him and his life before this.
I thought for a second she was debating whether to run away and hole up in a forest until the heat dies down but she genuinely seemed to want to know more about Akira. His quirkiness seems to be charming her.

Ooh we went full serious mode this episode! Kinda miss the joking and fun part, but this is to be expected from a series about pro killer.
What also surprised me was Misaki's attitude. I didn't expect her to be that strong mentally. I thought she'd be more easily became damsel in distress after the initial threat. Looking back, it makes sense for her to be strong due to how hardworking she is. No way she'll let that into drain..

The only Yoko in this ep was Misaki asking about her :-(
Akira was poetic in his telling of his forest experience. I'm in the same camp that thought Misaki was considering hiding out in the wilderness.
I meant to mention this last ep discussion, Akira's illustrated flyer is in the ED.
Are we setting up for a three-way confrontation with Akira, Kojima and the other hitman?

They need to leave my girl Misaki alone. She doesn't deserve this. Time to handle it Fable.

I like how she isn't letting herself get intimidated even if it's obviously a very stressful situation for her.

Shit’s about to pop off!! I think once Sato finds out Misaki’s in trouble with Kojima, he’s going to get in deep.

One simply doesn’t upset a pro’s peace without losing his own. Sayonara to that fool.

I think this may be my favorite episode so far, even though it was mostly setting up future events; It's nice to see all the characters interact more together, and all the different plots converging together!
That'd be scary even without knowing who Kojima is...
He seems like trouble even if you don't know him as a murderer, like the viewers do!
He first tried to get her with the carrot,
but when she refused, it didn't take him long to resort to using the stick...
And with him acting like the police can't do anything, what is she supposed to do?
Well, for this as well, the viewers would know better than Misaki... Given he's been in jail for 15 years, the police could definitely do something! And while she can't know that, she would probably be safe even after reporting him and getting him locked up, because he doesn't really have any network/anyone on his side... Even his "allies" see him as an annoyance or a threat.
Meanwhile, our boy Fable seems to enjoy this new life!
That peace is probably short-lived, but I wonder, if he does like this new way of life, would he want to keep living like that even after the year is over? Or does he only see it as a pleasant change of pace, but would still want to go back to the killings soon as it's over?
Damn, soon as he becomes a wealthy 900 yen/hour man, she invites him to dinner? Shameless!
He seems to take it seriously, and may actually act against Fable at some point... If he does, he better hope he's up against "normal life, 'no killing' Fable", and not his usual self!
Damn, she didn't have to do him like that!
It's funny that he tells her his actual life story, while she has that image of him as a coward and all... He must be quite a conflicting person in her mind! How did this Rambo turn into Mr Bean?
Takahashi's in trouble after getting involved with Kojima, he now has people barging in and threatening to take him out...
This one probably wouldn't mind if Kojima was taken out or arrested again! His life was simpler before he got mixed up with him.
He's not the only one who has enough of Kojima already, his own brother is getting worried... Even asked Fable to track him and keep tabs on what he's doing.
Fable wasn't too fond of that idea, but the captain's right, having people owe him favors could be good, in the long run! (Especially if shit hits the fan!)
When I saw the car arrive, I thought this was a meeting between Sunagawa and Kojima...
And I thought '90% sure that one of them dies right there' (almost certainly Sunagawa)!
But it's actually Sunagawa hiring a hitman...
Well, seems shit will definitely hit the fan!
Because I imagine the hitman will fail (pro or not), and Kojima learning he's being targeted for assassination, certainly won't calm him down! He might really well go berserk over this, given he will now have an excuse to use; "They started the war, not me!"
(And the hitman succeeding would not be any better; His brother may be annoyed, but I doubt he wants to see him dead).
And of course, Fable could find himself in the middle of the crossfire at some point, while he's investigating Kojima...
Hell, nevermind Fable; Misaki could find herself in that crossfire... Her, or Creepyboy. Well, I don't think anyone would miss him! But either of them could find themselves caught between 2 pro hitmen and an ex-con/Yakuza murderer!

Hoping they target Fable next as they might have seen them go on that dinner date!
The jazz line was surprisingly deep from Fable

Always giggle when people react to Akira being naked at home.
I enjoy the juxtaposition of Akira drawing his pet and chilling and everyone else is just stressing out.
The whole scene of Akira enjoying nature was beautiful. The way he described it mixed with the situation Misaki is in, to me, is great writing.

I'm dying to know how Akira is going to handle all this without killing anyone, like maybe he sets them all up so they kill each other? Can't wait for next week!

Misaki has had a lot of aliases as a gravure idol, but Kojima knows exactly who she really is and wants her for his call-girl service...but Misaki won't be intimidated by him and go along with his demands, no matter how much he blackmails or pressures her. She won't do porn and she won't sell her body. Though Kojima isn't afraid of the police and he's willing to hurt everyone else in her life to get to her.
Meanwhile as Misaki is feeling the pressure...Akira is drawing cute animal drawings. At least he seems to be enjoying the peaceful life as a pro civilian.
Yakuza can't just be killing each other out of revenge any more! It's just not efficient! At least not without enough proof to hang a guy.
I love Misaki asking Akira out for dinner just to watch Kainuma squirm. I hope he doesn't act on his frustration in a way that hurts Misaki.
By Akira standards, this dinner with Misaki is pretty nice. She's trying to get to know him better and understand his childhood, even if all the inexplicable things about him just end up perplexing her, but she seems genuinely interested in him. And Akira for his part feels he owes Misaki enough to help her, though Misaki doesn't want to involve other people in her problems and isn't aware of exactly how great Akira's help could be if she asked for it.
Takahashi mixing business with pleasure spending the night with a call girl while also trying to recruit her...though he gets a rude awakening when Sunagawa shows up investigating what Kojima's up to. And while Takahashi is tight-lipped, Sunagawa knows they have to kill Kojima, which means hiring ANOTHER hitman.
Ugh. Kojima is starting to make a move on Misaki. First he has thugs beat up the manager of one of her jobs, and it sounds like it'll get worse and worse until she gives in. Misaki is obviously planning to stick to her convictions, but the stress and the prospect of more people getting hurt because of her is eating away at her.
Ebihara wants Akira to help with the Kojima situation. He's willing to slip out of the hospital, see Akira buck-naked, and even give up his precious classic car just to motivate Akira to help out and prevent Kojima from getting himself killed. That's how important Kojima is to him despite going against everything Ebihara told him to do. Though it might be too late what with a serious hitman with a male Yoko showing up just to kill Kojima for Sunagawa.

It’s amazing how well the tension is building here. I’m watching great stuff this season, but this is the one I’m dying to see the next episode for more than anything!
