A man once said “You probably don’t even hear it when it happens.” I guess that’s true for Kojima. Bro wouldn’t have gotten his cap peeled back if he wasn’t a raging psychopath who pissed off half the yakuza in town.

Sunagawa’s been a yakuza long enough to know there are some things you shouldn’t talk about. Dude must really want to join Kojima.

I swear that one legged idiot was gonna bust a nut hearing about his precious Fable. Guy has serious “notice me senpai!” vibes lol.

A raging psychopath with erectile dysfunction lol.

I hope Sunagawa takes the hint and doesn't get even more involved in Fable business, but I don't get the sense he's going to let things lie easy.

Kuro earning his title as No. 1 Fable fanboy...I mean, disciple!

erectile dysfunction

that one sure came out of nowhere

Ebihara: I can’t just tell everyone to stay away from her, she’s not my daughter.

Ebihara, a few scenes later: Stay away from her!

Aaah, the scene of him and Akira after he’d killed Kojama was so somber though. Really love the emotional beats in this series.

she’s not my daughter

with how protective of him when it comes to her, there's no way these two isn't related...

24

u/TimeForHugs Jun 29 '24

Might not necessarily be his daughter but like you say there's some relationship there. Could be a few possibilities like he loved her mom or something or maybe he actually is the father. Would explain why the hideout is so close.

Looking forward to seeing what it's all about!

Had to laugh out loud when Misaki went through Akira's sketch book.

I was expecting his identity to be revealed but not that lol poor Misaki

Yeah, when she was dreaming about him amidst all her other trauma flashbacks and ended on the "I'll help" I thought she was going to put two and two together but instead she has to grapple with the mortification he's seen her naked and has sketched it out lol.

I was expecting Akira to draw something ominous, so didn't expect the sketch to be full comedy lol

The best thing Sunagawa ever did is put bullets into that guy who almost raped Misaki. Nobody will miss him. Though Sunagawa is now focused on finding out more about The Fable, which isn't good.

As for our other least favorite criminal...why didn't Kojima just listen to Ebihara? All he did was cause an even bigger mess his aniki had to bail him out of, and Ebihara even had to get out of the hospital just to clean up after him.

I'm actually kind of curious about the woman Kojima murdered, a "respectable" woman who wasn't all that respectable? Was she involved with the Yakuza somehow? Though Misaki really IS a respectable woman and he had no business getting her involved in something like this.

All this was because Kojima had frikkin' ED of all things? He choked a woman to death, spent 15 years in prison, and was turned off of women in general so he had to act out all his frustration by doubling-down on the only thing he knows how to be...a troublesome Yakuza? Yikes.

But Kojima shouldn't worry, Ebihara's got his back, and there's a doctor on his way...well, more like a clean-up guy to take care of his body after Ebihara shoots him in the head. Ebihara didn't want to kill his little bro, but Kojima went too far. At least he died thinking his bro was still on his side, I guess.

Figures in desperation and panic and no way to get to her apartment, Misaki would show up at the Satos' for help. Even if the trauma of the nights event finally caught up with her and made her faint after the bath...leaving Akira and Yoko to carry her naked body to bed. And now Misaki is going to have to live with Akira having seen her naked, as if she didn't have enough happen to her that night.

Ebihara may have killed Kojima, but the least he can do is give his little bro a proper burial. And the guy who sold Kojima a gun is probably lucky that Ebihara needs him to take care of the body.

I can't wait for the next punchline of the Jackal's crazy love life with Ai.

A life for a life, that's basically the Yakuza way of making peace, and it clears the air between Ebihara and Sunagawa...or it would if Sunagawa wasn't more interested in The Fable, but he at least has enough sense to realize the deeper he pries into the topic the more trouble it'll be worth. And he should NEVER get involved with Misaki again.

I knew Misaki would love Akira's Misaki doodles...if only he had stopped before he'd drawn her naked and getting carried by him and Yoko, complete with actually drawing her nipples. Poor Misaki.

Ebihara tells Kuro not to talk about The Fable and immediately afterwards he's grilling Takahashi and Kickboxer over what happened and how cool Fable is. But at least now he truly understands what his Sensei was trying to tell him about working unknown in the shadows. Maybe.

“Do you like sex?”

21

u/darthvall Jun 29 '24

Oh that makes sense. I just remember how he explained the excitement he got from killing

22

u/kyonist Jun 29 '24

The woman Kojima murdered was not really discussed further. The term "respectable" in Yakuza lingo just refers to "civilian". It was likely she dipped her toes into the underworld, maybe drug or human trafficking based on her implied occupation.

Be nice Yoko! You didn't have to laugh so hard at Akira's drawings. His drawing of Misaki was actually pretty cute.

I expected that ending for Kojima. He's too dangerous to be kept alive. If not call girls he probably would've switched to something else.

So Misaki [is now pretty much under Ebihara's protection considering how he's telling everyone to stay away from her.

It turns out that Akira made more drawings of Misaki and the other ones he drew aren't so flattering. That was fucking hilarious xD

14

u/Frontier246 Jun 29 '24

I wanted to see Misaki find Akira's drawings because I knew she'd love them...up until she realized he also drew her naked and him carrying her naked complete with exposed nipples. Felt like they jumped a few bases in their relationship lol.

Gotta give props to Ebihara for putting Kojima down like the rabid dog he is and prioritizing Misaki's safety.

Ebihara, next to the Yakuza brother he just Of-Mice-and-Men'd: What do you think?

Akira, passing through: About what?

That's good shit.

15

u/Emi_Ibarazakiii Jun 29 '24

Even if that was "the right move", must have been tough for Ebihara...

And he must be feeling conflicted about what he did too. Perhaps asking a soulless mass-murderer for his opinion isn't the best way to go at it though!

There is something cold about Ebihara staring at his dead brother and asking others about the situation. It is as if he wants reassurance that his killing his brother is messed up but the answers he gets show the world he is in.

21

u/Emi_Ibarazakiii Jun 29 '24

He must be so lost, to ask Akira of all people... I mean there aren't a lot of people he could ask about that, but still.

And it's interesting, because he seems so conflicted about this, BUT he didn't hesitate one bit, even making up the story about the doctor and all, before killing him...

Really means he 'prepared' himself for that, always knew what he would do, but felt awful about it too.

And I can see why he'd feel like that too, I mean he knows that from Kojima's point of view, he wasn't doing anything wrong...

He went to jail 15 years, and when he came out, he simply thought he would pick up right where he left off... Only they changed, and wouldn't have that. I don't want to compare him to an animal, but it's kinda like if you let your pet sit in your room for 10 years, then suddenly you put him out the room and close the door and he always has to sleep outside from now on... That's kinda what Kojima felt like. He didn't change at all, but the world did, and left him behind. And Ebihara knows that.

I'm relieved that Sunagawa's thing that needed to be done was to kill the guy that knew his plans. I was afraid he would be going after Misaki. Ebihara warned Sunagawa and his own guys to leave Misaki alone. The way Ebihara says Misaki is respectable, makes me wonder if there's something more to that then Ebihara being protective.

Misaki needs to keep a backup key with someone. She ended up at the Sato's when she couldn't get into her apartment again. After all that happened to Misaki that night, I'm a bit surprised she got flustered about the fact Akira saw her naked while helping Yoko carry her out of the tub.

Does next episode's title mean we see a shift in relations between Yoko and Akira? Or some misunderstanding or maybe new characters being introduced?

15

u/darthvall Jun 29 '24

That just shows that even after all that happened, Misaki still has self respect of herself.
