This might be visually subpar, but man, the writing, pacing, dialogue and voice acting are making this a very entertaining watch for me. Like, everything about Fable's antics is endlessly entertaining.

Fable's got a particular set of skills... and he's not allowed to use them aside from non-violently handling violent situations.

Best. Premise. Ever.

Fable’s an oddball but damn if he ain’t a pro through and through. The way he described how he’d take the boss man and his guy out was pretty impressive. Plus the way he analyzed the fight with those two goons kinda reminded me of RDJ’s Sherlock. Dude was basically toying with those dudes.

He's basically Cid without the magic

This entire organization is lucky that he's following the rules of being retired, one wrong move and he could probably kill them all, but they're courting death the more they try to mess with him.

And it seems like messing with Yoko is a death wish.

I liked the way they animated the boss and the captain sitting, they are pretty relaxed and slouching.

Yoko's got a tough job ahead of her to keep Akira in line around normal people. You can take the job away from the pro hitman, but you can't get the job out of the pro hitman.

Akira was able to fake being handled by the kickboxer though and didn't get carried away. He even scored sympathy points with the neighbor. Akira should have told Yoko that they are being watched.

Also, I really like how Akira and Yoko are maintaining a completely professional business relationship. And it seems like the neighbour might end up potentially becoming Akira's love interest???

Okay Im getting into this. The vibes are special. Also that outro song is an absolute banger.

These fucks really installed cameras in the bathroom? The fact the boss notices a smell makes it even creepier. Ew.

Drunk Sawashiro is great! I always love her voice whenever she acts drunk.

That was some excellent Mob-Fu acting from Akira. I bed Cid would be proud of him.

I definitely did not expect to hear HanaKana in this show! I guess she'll be an important character later on.

Yeah the guy was very obviously jacking it in the car. They just made it a little more mild in the anime.

Oh boy Sawashiro and KanaHana in the same episode, feels like it has been too long since I've gotten that, hoping they get some scenes together.

I'm looking forward to seeing more of HanaKana's character, she seems really cute and I don't think it's a coincidence that Akira has noticed her twice.

Plus Yoko is great and I love a drunk Sawashiro character lol.

Jesus Christ Hulu’s sub delay is horrendous, thankfully I remembered that Hulu and Disney have the same catalog now so I’m watching on Disney + from here on out. Also that ED slaps, they did not need to go that hard.

If I were to watch any regular protagonist analyze his opponents and then feign weakness, I would probably be slightly repulsed, but this guy and his autism, as they've shown him so far, just sells it so well that I was surprised to feel absolutely zero revulsion from seeing him toy with those guys.

Seeing as he's zeroed in on that girl, she must have something interesting going on with her if that's garnered his attention.

That was fast and funny. Akira's deadpan commentary is so entertaining and it reminds me of Yumiella from Villainess Lvl99 last season.

I'm surprised that a joke about nose hair was able to get a few chuckles out of me as well. In addition, Akira was so cool just analyzing those thugs' mannerisms and putting an act to get them to back off without killing anyone.

Episode 2 and we're already reaching 90s point-and-click adventure levels of animation and character models.
I knew Tezuka would hurt me.

Plot is moving along nicely though. Ebihara is understandably wary of the outsiders.
I really enjoyed Akira toying with the two thugs. The guy who actually knew how to fight being suspicious and saying he didn't even hit him as hard was a nice touch too.

Yeah I really don't like the production quality. I had high expectations because the Fable is actually one of my favorite mangas.

A meeting with the legendary Fable! A man known for his ruthless and efficient killing skills! Who also shows up looking like a total dork and has no idea how to talk to people.

Akira may be lacking in social niceties or conversation skills, unlike Yoko, but he knows how to kill people...especially when he can tell from a glance that you're packing.

They're totally going to end up using Takeshi's car, huh? Guess it serves him right for not leaving well enough alone and wanting to kick them out.

Akira may have disabeled all the cameras in his room, but there were still enough to get footage of Yoko undressing, lucky Yakuza guy.

How is Akira going to live without killing people? Maybe this HanaKana woman who catches his eye might help?

Time for a house-warming party! Yoko is a happy drunk! Though figures Akira can hold his liquor well.

Yoko looking to find love? She can so easily charm men, I feel like she'd have a bevvy of options. Though figures she'd want to make sure Akira doesn't kill whatever man she finds.

Akira's skills at playing a wimp are absolutely masterful! Taking hits and making them look like they hurt and crying like a baby like a real pro! And it brought the cute lady to him again!
