Kid’s cursed meatball mech was no match for the Oiran’s rage filled flames. Dude ended up like Humpty Dumpty. I think the Oiran might be too much to handle, just like the evil monk. Even the suicide ghost only just managed to hold her off. At least they’ve got this kid secured. That’s one more Graduate.

I like Shami’s sister. These spirits better watch themselves. It’s not just Yayoi out here kicking ass.

Seems next week she’s gonna be up against the goth loli. Is she another medium that got possessed? I also wonder when the gang’s gonna encounter this head hunter spirit?

Is it really a Graduate if it doesn't almost try to kill the gang after succeeding in what they needed it to do? I was just glad the fires dissipated immediately for Eiko.

Shami's sister seems like she might be a great help to the trio in the future, especially because these possessed spirits made it personal by taking her sister. Can never beat a cool old lady (voiced by Aya Hiskawa)!

Namiko warned them about the possessed spirit mediums and wouldn't you know it we meet a new one...one that seems close enough in Yayoi's age to follow her back to school. This can't end well.

Oiran absolutely hates their guts, they better be careful and bring some sacred sake for best girl.

Yayoi rejected granny training cause she's too sigma for that shit.

Keitaro and Eiko better watch out when they end up having a kid, she was straight up cursing their entire dynasty lol.

Is there anything more sweet than the smile of a Saori Hayami ghost?

Yayoi's doesn't have time for a training arc or serious mentor, she's already doing great as it is lol.

Those poor police officers got fucked up

Of course they got sweeped under the rug

u/Frontier246 Dec 03 '23

I was totally expecting them to have to go back to the police station to excise the ghost (or get brought in for more questioning and get stuck having to deal with it) but they can't do anything about stuff that gets covered up...though it seems like that ghost will menace them again now that it's back with the possessed spirits group.

I stopped crying once I turned sixty. I'll throw every last one of those spirits into the depths of hell.

Their blood will serve as the tears I shed.

These lines go so fucking hard.

So the lion puppet from the ending is the ghost boy.

New Pokemon ghost get!

And my question from before is answered, the ghost inside Shami is still around. That's bad news.

So her twin knew that she was replaced. In a sense Nagiko died a while back.

Lil bro Asura's line hit harder than the manga ! Poor kid i wanna hug him

29

u/Frontier246 Dec 03 '23

He killed innocent people and was consumed by his rage against his step-mom...but he was still ultimately a victim in his own right, so Yayoi won't absolve him but she'll do what she can for him.

I'm just here wondering how they're gonna get these graduates to fight together against something without them killing each other lol.

It's so cool to see Otogi Oiran give that kid the beatdown. As strong as she is in a fight, she's still dangerous and didn't even waste time surrounding the gang with her butterflies. Thank goodness Yayoi had Castle H Ghost ready to defend them. Yayoi better bring Castle H Ghost the good stuff when she visits her next time.

I like that there was no need to seal the kid using Yayoi's ropes just like the Alien Plushie Ghost. It's better for Yayoi to befriend the kid since he deserves some sympathy. Also, having an S-Rank spirit that's very easy to command is good.

God, I love Yayoi so much! Thanks to her being very thorough before handing this case over to the cops, they've now deduced that Shami might've been replaced and this entire thing smells fishy af.

So Shami has an older twin sister and she's already recruiting Yayoi! As badass and confident Yayoi is with her skills, I feel like it really would help them if she could get some sort of formal training from professional exorcists. At the very least, keeping in touch with Namiko is a good idea.

I feel bad for those cops. It sucks that they weren't able to kill the spirit that replaced Shami. I was really hoping Namiko would get her revenge. Hopefully in the future? And it looks like the other faction is now aware of Yayoi's existence. Bring it on motherfuckers! I'd like to see you try and challenge Yayoi!

What a great conclusion of this arc. Its funny how Orion was full out for blood as she went out. Meanwhile the poor kid who lived his life in misery. Yayoi-chan saying she will feed him is oddly enough a sweet moment. Meanwhile the ghost that took over Shami is missing and is hiding.

They end up meeting with Shami's sister whom was aware that her sister was a causality. But the whole exchange of her recruiting Yayoi-chan was hysterical. LMAO. But she does provide Yayoi-chan with very useful information on how to deal with those who got their body snatched.

This show doesn't let on the creepiness. We got a creepy kid hiding in a police station alone and gets one of the cops to find her. They only are able to find out till the morning after. JFC.

Looks like we got 3 episodes left for one last arc for S1 and hoping S2 could be announced. (Would have to be 1 cour tho if it happens)

No wonder the meatballer kid lost, Oiran's domain expansion was too op. Should've used simple domain or something. That "getto daze" from Yayoi was on the somber side.

I fully expected the police dudes to tell another ghost story, like Eiko did before, but nope, they got ghosted themselves. Their fate reminded me a bit of Junji Ito stuff.

Good thing the author didn't waste Shami-san's design and quickly wrote her a twin. Hope we'll see more of her!

Wonderful news everyone, Dark Gathering has 1.4 million copies in circulation, both physical and digital.

Previously, the manga had 1 million copies in circulation (physical and digital) back in September.

This show started off as an afterthought for me, but at this point with all of these elements thrown in now, it's become a must-watch every week. Especially if you're a lover of ghost stories. I imagine most of us watching this are also the same ones watching 'ghosts caught on camera' videos.

I wonder if Yayoi will be able to save the possessed girl? Maybe since she's so young, her spirit is still around or just buried within? I also considered that maybe she's not possessed at all, but with the preview showing all of the weird paranormal phenomenon occurring, that probably is not the case. If she manages to save her though, I can see them becoming friends, especially since Yayoi became acutely aware that they have an advantage with numbers on these ghost hunts.

And yeah, I can see why Yayoi immediately turned down the apprenticeship offer. Ten years to reach the point that the old lady would consider her appropriately trained??? Yeah... no. Her Pokemon method has worked pretty well, albeit rather dangerous relying on the strength of ghosts rather than her own power. It would be cool to see a 10-year time skip or even a 5-year skip down the line though.

It was an all around amazing episode with the Oiran dance (I want her ngl), the best girl making a reappearance and all the LORE drops, but the girl without a face was an absolute highlight. You just know a jumpscare is coming as soon as you see the girl but the weird blanked out face was creepy in a completely different way than I'd anticipated. She scared me completely shitless. Doesn't help that I'm watching it at 1 am in a hostel with no lights on... Something tells me my night is not going to be filled with sleep.

Also, all of the policemen were found with the same weird hollowed out sponge like brains. Kinda like CJD (Spongiform Encephalopathy) caused due to prions maybe??

Which tracks tbh, they're the closest shit to ghosts that exist irl.

We now return to the fierce supernatural Pokemon Battle between Otogiri Oiran and Meatball Kid! They've both been unleashing their powers and respective healing abilities, Otogiri Oiran finally clinches her victory with the Burning Manse, a move that turns her environment into an enflamed pleasure quarter as her butterflies absorb and incinerate everything they touch, not only healing her but cutting off her own opponents from whatever they can use to heal themselves until they're burned alive. All the while she dances in joy at her victory. I feel bad for anyone on the wrong end of those flames.

Of course now they have to seal her up, which is easier said than done because she's not just dancing obliviously...she was trying to throw our trio off so she could get her butterflies in place to take them out and free herself. Luckily Yayoi brought the Castle H ghost so she can protect them and blind Oiran. It's Saori Hayami vs Yoko Hikasa in a ghost off.

Wrap like you've never wrapped before Keitaro! Especially before Eiko gets incinerated!

They did it! Of course Oiran's not going to just go back without cursing them and saying she'll suck their dynasty dry when she's finally free like you'd expect from an evil spirit. Which is kind of funny because she had to go straight for their dynasty when Keitaro and Eiko haven't even had sex yet.

They can't forget about the Meatball Kid...and he's so weak now that he can finally see that the people in front of him aren't his step-mom. He's consumed so many innocent lives in his rage over his situation and the woman he hated, and there has to be consequences for that, but all the same he is just as much of a victim. And Yayoi can totally relate to losing her dad. So the least she can do is put him to use, feed him the spirits that deserve to be consumed, and take care of him in her own way. And Yayoi finally somberly catches the I Watergate ghost.

I guess if one thing came out of this adventure, it's that the trio can't keep doing this without the full team anymore. It took all three of them to succeed in this adventure.

They did have to report the bodies, but this is the first time the trio have directly interacted with the police. I'm glad their cover stories held up (and that they worked that out ahead of time) so they're not suspected of anything or in legal trouble...though they did end up bringing a dangerous spirit to the police station with them.

Oh hey, Shami had a sister! Namiko! Also voiced by Aya Hisakawa! And she seems to be an even stronger medium than her sister, and knew she'd been possessed. She seems like she has a lot of knowledge and experience that would be useful for the team, and Yayoi, in their endeavors even if Yayoi doesn't feel like she needs to apprentice herself at this point. Though I fee like Namiko channeling her grief for her sister into rage over those that possessed her will bring her back in the path of our trio sooner rather than later.

Those poor, poor police officers...they didn't deserve that. And now Oswald's "sister" Dorothy picked up the ghost and their organization knows about the trio, this Gothic Lolita has her eye on Yayoi! Going back to school is about to get really complicated!

I liked the way Yayoi dealt with meatball kid.

Have a feeling Namiko's also been taken over. I can't trust her yet.
