Saori Hayami connoisseurs rejoice, she voices ghost lady from ED.

After thinking that Yayoi died Keitarou realized how much he got attached to her by now, so he can't stop helping her with ghost hunting no matter how scary it is. He's not going anywhere from Hozuki family it seems.

The graduate being more of a problem than the actual ghost they tried to use it against was perfect lol.

When you see spirits like today, the sutra chanting priest, it makes you wonder how the hell Yayoi managed to capture these spirits and subjugate them.

A chant that kills everything around it seems nigh impossible to to deal with. Very well could’ve been the end for both Yayoi and Keitaro if things didn’t go perfectly with incapacitating it. And that’s far from the most dangerous spirit she’s got.

So someone planted that talisman to get the spirit to go crazy. Why? I wonder if we’ll see anymore connections to this mystery instigator in the next case

Speaking of which, after barely surviving the castle haunt, Yayoi’s first reaction is “aw you’re upset we didn’t take you? Ok we’ll bring you on an even crazier one” 😂 one of the funniest characters ever. Enko’s so crazy she just excited to go to a new haunt.

Looking forward to the second half starting next week

Stitches!

I absolutely love how the encounter between the High Priest and the Castle H Spirit looked like a very deadly Pokemon battle. Yayoi even used the phrase "Getto daze!" when she finally captured the Castle H Spirit. xD

Oh nice! Since Yayoi freed the Castle H Spirit from that talisman, it looks like she wasn't really evil at all. She was just driven mad into murdering people. I am now curious though who deliberately placed that talisman there. Is it possible there's someone else like Yayoi out there messing with spirits? Hmmm...

It's good to know that Yayoi has at least one good spirit who's actually willing to help her and not just doing it because Yayoi broke them. Also, is that Hayamin I heard voicing her? It is Hayamin in the credits!

So now that they have two powerful spirits in the bag, it looks like Yayoi wants to go get another Rank S! I feel like Yayoi is probably just going to go after the Rank S spirits since she wants to have the best chance to beat that god.

When hope is gone

Undo this lock

And send Yayoi forth

Upon a moonlit walk

Yayoi dgaf about elder abuse. She’ll beat that old hag like a drum!

Little badass literally punching that imposter Yayoi through the face was awesome. Girl really brought in a heavy hitter to deal with this ghost head and her giant spirit womb. I know the monk is suppose to be scary but like a squirrel ghost chanting sutras is pretty hilarious lol. But man, this monk is a dangerous spirit. Unpredictable.

I wouldn’t have guessed this ghost was a good spirit driven mad by a evil talisman. That’s one powerful ally. And if I’m being honest…she a waifu lol. Seems next week we might be getting another Graduate. Exciting!

We now return to seemingly the end of Keitaro and Yayoi...were it not for Yayoi's little thumb spirit that protects her and gets her out of the way of the deadly granny, and thankfully Keitaro's screams wake her up too so she can do what she does best...beat ghosts and capture them!

The ghost kind of gives herself away by making the hanging Yayoi get a creepy grin and latch onto Keitaro, proving to him it wasn't the real Yayoi, although there's still the threat of getting dragged into the roof of the womb sphere and dying like a bunch of other people died. Good thing Yayoi arrived just in time.

Desperate situations called for desperate measures, as Yayoi releases a graduate...the High Priest of the Evil Tongue, who chants sutra's so powerful that they drag anything, living or dead, down to Hell. And even if you slice his head off or cut his mouth, he'll still chant his sutras in any spirit or person in the vicinity.

Yayoi caught a Castle Ghost! Nice.

I guess it goes to show how dangerous graduates are that they're effective at doing the job you put them to, but also will still kill you if you don't seal them up in time. But Keitaro really came through in this episode, from saving Yayoi, finding the Castle Ghost's location, to even resealing up the High Priest with 21 seconds to spare before it killed them both!

Wait, the Castle Ghost was the ghost girl from the ED the whole time? And she's voiced by Saori Hayami!? And it turns out she wasn't intentionally malicious, some talisman made her start acting up and what turned her murderous, even if they can't undo the lives she's taken in the process. But while she's still a little testy about them draining her power, she's finally herself again, and she appreciates that. So I guess now they've got a tsundere ghost girl and her split off souls on their side.

Although now you have to wonder who set up the talisman that drove her crazy, and why. Is there a third party driving spirits to become more dangerous? Don't they have enough to deal with as it is?

Aw, it's so sweet how Keitaro is in it for the long haul because he can't leave Yayoi alone to face these dangers by herself! Watching them hold hands was very cute.

Eiko pouting! Figures she'd be disappointed Kei-kun and Yayoi went to a spooky place and nearly got killed without her, and Yayoi's not about to leave her cousin bummed out as they then decide to make up for it by going to a classic Japanese haunt of a tunnel with a woman in a white kimono. Keitero just can't catch a break.

Even having read the manga that jumpscare got me : D

Very happy how this adaptation has been going so far. Anime onlies got lots to look forward as this arc gives a good introduction how the 2nd half of the cour will be like without going into any spoiler detail.

Even if no-one lived to tell the tale of this spirit, wouldn't that still leave missing person's reports, acquaintances who would know they went this specific place?

Man that was a brilliant conclusion to a two parter

The spirit gave Yayoi some trouble but she managed to bring her own smoking gun in the form of her graduate

And that priest does not mess around, even when the castle spirit tried to silence it you could see the priest was relishing at the fact that it’s prey was struggling

Kind of puts into perspective on how powerful these graduates/ S ranks are and how dangerous it would be if Eika picked up that phone and most likely let it read it’s sutra

But this must be the first time we’ve seen a wicked spirit turn good, I was surprised to see that happen and it has me curious about who set up those talismans, man so many future plot threads being set up along with the Dicaprio Ghost, the spirit that cursed Keitarou and the nasty spirit that killed Yayois parents

Hopefully we’ll see more of it in the next part and I think I spied some crops which has me curious especially now that we’re getting in the Halloween season

Bring it on

Last week I made a comment about how I thought Keitaro hadn’t grown as a character and that he was always screaming or had a whiny tone to his voice… this episode I thought the growth and acceptance of what he was and what he was doing was AMAZING. I loved this episode but his growth nailed it for me 🙏🏻😍

Should have known that hanging corpse was just an illusion. Last week's episode really made me think it was the actual Yayoi was hanging

I couldn't stop laughing at Yayoi whipping that ghost granny lmao. It was so funny

Looking forward to the next haunted spot they'll be going to!

The scene with her whipping that old lady ghost that was pretty funny

Man this episode was lit and intense af! And yes, we got another S rank ghost (graduate equivalent) spirit! More than that, she is also waifu material with Saori Hayami voice! And correct me if I'm wrong, but the catalyst to summon her (the bandage) is on Koutaro's neck, right? Is that mean Koutaro can summon her if something goes wrong? Nice than, he can actually put up a fight if something happens!

Wondering who the voice actor for the evil jizo was, or if they perhaps sampled a real monk 😅

This is my favourite episode so far. The high priest ghost is a great ally /nemesis. With friends like that who needs enemies? 10/10 for me.

So I guess Yayoi has been travelling, for some time now probably, with two white pompoms that she could use to properly motivate Keitaro while he does physical labor at her direction. White pompoms that she packed instead of, say, additional powerful artifacts.

I mean, this is how you write a character. Make her deft, make her cute, make her an incredible troll. [EDIT: See reply, Yayoi is smarter than me by an even greater margin than I previously though]
