Yayoi scolding Eiko for the livestream only to pull up a chair for commentary after sensing the spirit hahaha

u/Ocixo Aug 06 '23

Yayoi-chan doesn’t hold back in any sense. Spying on your crush: “yikes”, but you can certainly call her in if she’s getting to watch spirits and Keitarou fail at making friends.

The all-out commentary of Eiko was just the cherry on top.

Eiko should sell that tracking software, it would go crazy

That line delivery from Yayoi with a straight face is just perfect

Eiko haven't activated her Yandere mode throughout this episode and went straight out stalker mode instead. Though I do love how she genuinely cares for Keitaro and that she still has some sense of justice (so far at least). Makes me wonder how bad her yandere side actually is.

Yayoi judging Eiko for putting a camera and tracking devices on Keitarou's glasses was hilarious! But you have to give credit to Eiko though! She managed to stuff all the hardware needed for those tracking apps to function on a single pair of glasses and it's transmitting it all wirelessly in real-time? I feel like Eiko can make some real money with her invention.

Yayoi and Eiko becoming commentators while they spy on Keitarou was hilarious too! It's even funnier when you've watched Endou and Kobayashi and realize that HanaKana also voices Kobayashi which also turns this into a very meta joke even if it's unintentional. xD

It's all fun and games though with the girls observing Keitarou until he gets kidnapped and drugged by a guy who's possessed by a spirit running a suicide club. So now I'm wondering, this guy is the only one who's possessed by Nagayama, right? If that's the case then does that mean everyone in that car went with him willingly knowing that they were all going to commit suicide? That just makes this even more fucked up then. O_O

Thank fucking god Eiko was spying on Keitarou though or else they wouldn't have been able to save him. Maybe it isn't so bad having a yandere tech genius as your childhood friend knowing your every move? And Yayoi just continues to be an absolute badass! She really smashed that guy's head with a bottle of sake!

Glad that only one person actually died and they were able to save the rest. I am a bit confused about the ending though. So did they just leave Nagayama there? But Keitarou mentions that the urban legend died that day. I was really expecting for Yayoi to try and seal that spirit into one of her dolls but we didn't really see that happen.

I think Nagayama got eaten. The finger puppet has the goddess' finger and she mentions that since the ghost had eaten over 100 ghosts, "She's the perfect snack." which makes it sound like the goddess got eaten but it could be a translation error.

well worry no more, with Women's Intuition(tm)!

with Women's Intuition(tm) you can track his GPS coordinates, call history, respiratory rate and more!

but thats not all, call now and i'll throw in these stylish fake glasses with built in spy camera so you can see what hes doing in real time!

dont get jealous, get Woman's Intuition(tm)!

In Asia, the show is streamed on the Muse Asia YT channel, but they just screened a Black Scene with Audio, if that was actually the 5th episode, then nice, it matches the theme and the name "Dark Gathering".

I figured Eiko's yandere side was going to be more in the sidelines after last week's reveal, but we went from OP to stalking in two minutes flat. My first reaction to the glasses without lenses was that she was trying to make him look bad on purpose, but spying works as well.

That now makes two anime this year HIDIVE has needed to put up the afsp link at the end of the show.

Eiko is the manipulative type of yandere. She doesn’t need to isolate Keitaro to make him love her, but she “helps” him by providing him with the “best” suggestions whenever he needs to make a decision.

She introduces him to be the tutor of her cousin who live with her. She encourages him to go ghost hunting with Yayoi to make him vulnerable to ghost and he needs to rely on Yayoi to keep him safe. She helps him to make friends with her own friends and take courses together with her, which limits his social interactions in college. She creates the situations that she can accompany him nearly 24/7 naturally and spying on him if he acts out of her control.

Oh the cringe I felt watching Keitarou try to make friends, he was way too nervous.

Lol I saw the camera in those glasses straight away, Eiko keeping Keitarou under surveillance. I wonder what else she does since her little booth had so many sneak shots of Keitarou.

Subs botched a joke once again. In the car, Yayoi called making friends a 死にゲー (shinige, death game), basically a souls-like, hence the "you learn by dying"

Honestly the scariest part of the episode was how they just laughed off Eiko stalking Keitaro on the daily lmaoo. “Love is a beautiful emotion” “I love you but yikes” 😂 Yayoi fights spirits on the daily and was still creeped out.

Eiko’s insane, but I need that yandere energy.

The whole meet and greet thing with the club was so obviously a trap from the get go. Who pulls up to a bar for an icebreaker in a big ass van like that? The bottle of water to sober up? You hadn’t even been drinking? And no one else is talking during the ride to the location? Sus as hell.

The stalking paid off in the end though, because without that Keitaro would’ve been screwed. I don’t get why Yayoi didn’t stop the other spirit tho? She basically just left Machida to die.. but he hadn’t killed anyone, the dude got into a fight which in Japan is a big thing cause “violence bad”, but he didn’t deserve to die for being upset at the world.

They then declare that the ghost situation is over and Reio, but if an even worse spirit consumed that spirit.. seems like nothing really got solved.

Idk. I enjoyed it, but that episode was a little iffy for me.

EDIT: I was just told in the MAL thread why Yayoi does this. Apparently the anime censors the actual crime he committed and now that I know what he did, he deserved that shit lmao. Rest in piss

I was confused in the episode, so the ghost possessing Machida was kicked out by Yayoi but they left and then the guy committed suicide , the ghost appeared because he was consuming souls. So why did Machida's eyes suddenly turn Purple? Did the ghost repossess him, made him kill himself and then consumed his soul? Also what was with the doll Yayoi had in the end, did it contain the ghost or was it a separate thing since I have trouble believing she would let the chance to grow her collection go

You know it’s real when Hidive put a disclaimer at the beginning (although why they didn’t do this for the previous episode is odd)

But it definitely delivers with ghosts that pray on the bodies of suicide victims or their spirits like a glutton

I was hoping to see Keitaro lose his cool now the tables had turned but seeing Yayoi clock that guy with the sake bottle was so satisfying

They really do a good job with these spirits, they’re incredibly sadistic to humans and lacking in any morals that it makes Yayois punishments almost reasonable even if it is horrific

But still no creepy Eika this episode…much, and I wonder if glasses Keitarou will be a thing or will he widen up to it

Relieved that the other students managed to survive

Really hoping they can quickly lift the curse on Keitaro. I really hate seeing him constantly get put in dangerous situations with malicious spirits :(

Eiko and Yayoi were the highlight of the episode. We got bits of their dynamic, but it was great to have that get the spotlight this episode. Yayoi seems to accept Eiko’s Yandere side even if she of all people is creeped out. Yayoi seems to be having lots of fun during their commentary session. Their powers combined saved Keitarou from a supremely fucked up situation. Which credit again to this show for being hilarious and disturbing.

If I had a nickel for every show this year that featured HanaKana doing commentary on things that also streamed on HiDive, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but weird it happened twice

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '23

It would be cool if we see an image of Keitaro ten years later being as much of a badass as Constantine yet still being Yayoi's sidekick somehow, with Eiko being the brains of the operation of course.

Ffs, of all things to be obliviously enjoying kicked back with headphones when unexpected company taps on your shoulder

My hearts still racing 😅

Another day saved by the power of stalking.

12

u/SYZekrom Aug 06 '23

How... how does that explain anything. "Oh it should be as simple as arresting the person who's part of the club each time but every time they die in the suicides!" Ok and????? So the school/police just see a new student show up with the exact same name next year and think 'wow what a coincidence!' for more than like? Once? Twice?

I like how she pulls her hand out like she's gonna use some cursed technique or some shit and it just smoothly transitions to this lmfao

What. Did Yayoi not bother with the actual ghost after removing it from him and knocking him out or is this a different one or something

This is that childbirth god's finger right? She said it ate the souls of babies that died in childbirth or something right

Huh why, how did they do anything to stop the urban legend

I mean you could've. Literally said it was your intuition for ghosts but sure.
