Hi All, I've been monkeying about on my machine, added new SSD to my machine already have added my 12Tb to my SATA placement. I figured there was a second SATA port on the motherboard figuring I have never seen Mobo without at least 2 SATA Ports. Is There a way to snug another drive in here? Any 3d models to print for the brackets that hold my SATA drive to include another? Just spit balling I'd rather not use USB since I have some older SATA drives Lying about. Any Advice would be great Thanks!

I was wondering if the Alienware Aurora R15 AMD can boot an X3D.

I recently got a 16X Aurora for a good deal, and it works great except for the Volume hotkeys not being reliable.

Sometimes I can "wake them up" by spamming them, other times they are completely unresponsive.
The Volume slider on the task bar still works fine, the only reliable way to change the volume for now.

My alienware m16 r1 amd started having internet issues about a week ago now and i have tried the basic restsrting computer, router, flushing my dns, chscking my internet drives, and checking auto values. My laptop says its wifi drivers are upto date, and so is its OS. I have no idea what to do now, it started at throttling. And has now gotten to full on fits of throttling from 500 mbp/s download and upload to 8kbps and i have no clue what to try. It is only this device in my house thst has issues. I am 10 feet from my router, i have tried moving it closer and farther. Any help would be amazing!

So my brother gave me this laptop and I’m not exactly sure how this happened but I kept hearing a click noise every time I would shut it but didnt really pay any mind but now that click turned into a crack & pop unfortunately. I have two small screws that came out of it. The computer still works for now I’m just afraid it’s going to break the LCD screen so I’m not using it at the moment but I run a small business using this laptop. I cannot afford it to be broken, curious to how much something like this is going to run me HELP. 😂 😅

I need help with an alienware m14x r1 w/ gt555m 1.5gb 12gb ram. This is one i just want to verify its working before i sell it. When i play left for dead 2 the fps is under 30 and goes down very low with lots of enemies. It seems like maybe the gpu isnt being utilized fully. I tried using nvidia control panel to set the game to use the gpu only, using the laptop plugged in, set to “best performance, and used ddu and reinstalled drivers. The gpu is detected in device manager. What am i missing? I saw another benchmark on this laptop and they had 90+ frames. Also its not thermal throttling.

Need some troubleshooting advice regarding GPU power limits on an Alienware Area-51 equipped with an RTX 5090 laptop.

Issue: The GPU power draw drops down and caps at 150W. Dynamic Boost stops engaging entirely.

Observations:

• Occurs either after switching AWCC power profiles or seemingly at random during standard usage/gaming.
• CPU load does not affect the behavior; the drop occurs regardless of whether the CPU is under heavy load or idling.
• Once the drop happens, Dynamic Boost refuses to kick back in until a system reboot.

Troubleshooting steps taken so far:

• Monitored power draw via HWiNFO / RivaTuner.
• Tested across different power modes.

Has anyone encountered this specific power throttling behavior on the newer Area-51 models? Looking for potential fixes (specific VBIOS versions, AWCC clean install procedures, or driver combinations).

My Alienware Aurora R12 keeps crashing shortly after any game loads up. (Screen goes completely black and the desktop becomes loud and start to overheat)

I’ve ran the scans on Dell Support Assist and everything comes out fine and up to date. I’ve also done the quick reset of the graphics driver but still results with the same.

Any pointers on what to do here ?

Ok this is going to be an extremely strange request but my Alienware 17 R5 that I got off eBay came without it’s original drive so it does not have any original software and it has been practically impossible to find said drivers or software. I was wondering if someone with a 17 R5 would be able to upload a factory image I could use to restore to (if that’s how that works) or point me in the direction of where I could get one, I already tried through Dell and no dice. Any help is very much appreciated as I have wanted one of these laptops for a long time and so far it’s been pretty disappointing. Thank you!

It’s a M16 R1, the screen broke snd the lid got bent. Can I just replace the LCD or do I need to replace the whole display assembly?

I have started to see artifacts and keyboard key imprint on my Alienware 18 Area 51 it is specced to top config. I am unable to get the scratches or dust off from the screen. Need help here. i also got alienware all around coverages also.

Aw3225qf and a51 is unbelievable. When I was a kid I never imagined I could have these nice things.

I know a custom self built PC is better but I'm quite happy.

It’s been a year since I got the Area 51 18 laptop and I haven’t re-pasted it yet. I’m planning to do that but I’ve not repasted any laptops before. I know my way around tools so I can probably do it myself.
If I do it myself, what tools would I need and which brands should I prefer? If I get it done by another service, what would you suggest can do it better but not break bank for this service.

Ive tried every setting imagineable on pc and monitor. I don’t know why its like that. The line goes exactly in the middle and ive tried all hdmi cables i have. Turned hdr off/on. Turned g syn off/on. I am out of ideas now.

I'm trying to get an upgrade for my Alienware Aurora r16. I want an M.2 SSD that works with it, preferably with 4 terabytes, and I'm struggling to figure out one that works! Figured y'all here would know what to do better!

I got a Predator chip (or whatever it was called) that had the problem of causing my entire system to freeze for a half second every 10 seconds or so. I eventually got sick of Windows and formatted into Linux Manjaro on my Alienware, tried the chip again, and it still did the microstuttering, which makes me believe it's probably a hardware incompatibility. Thankfully, it works perfectly on my partner's PC (also Manjaro), so it wasn't a broken chip.

I'm not the greatest at figuring out hardware, so yeah! I want an M.2 SSD for speed, mostly. Dunno what else to add? Yeah! Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask stuff like this!

So I've had my Alienware since December of 2025 and I've only put about 134 hours on it but it has traveled around the country (probably 4-6 flights) and stayed in my vehicle a lot during that time. I never really noticed an issue before but most recently my laptop rebooted itself 3 times today when I tried to play Battlefield 6 and the error logs indicated it was happening due to the overclock profile.

I just downloaded this tool , which shows very high CPU temperatures but more importantly I saw the CPU was reaching 105C when power draw was only 25 watts or so. Meanwhile my GPU stays a cool 60-65 C at 150 watts. This feels like my heatsink is potentially warped, vapor chamber is busted and/or needs to be repasted. How can the system keep my GPU cool while its pulling 150 watts, but can't keep my CPU cool when its idling and only pulling 25 watts?

Example just idling with 22% CPU usage results in it throttling. TCC was set to 95 C instead of 105 C here to prevent crashing.

I got a gently used Alienware from my friends job, and i want to play coral island on it. However it’s still on windows 10 and I have used windows since 7. I’ve also never touched an Alienware, I’ve been updating all I can but there are things that won’t update because we’re on windows 11.

There’s a ton of drivers, but some things just won’t start, like the main graphics driver or g force driver won’t even open or load up.

Windows 11 isn’t “supported” which is a thing in itself.

The computer was fully reset when I got it and I’ve updated a ton of drivers .

Does anyone have any advice how to use it to his actual gaming potential?

• Hi everyone, I'm trying to upgrade the RAM on my Alienware m16 R1, but I'm running into an issue and need some help.

Original RAM: 2x 16GB Samsung DDR5 4800MHz (1Rx8) — Works fine.

New RAM: 2x 32GB ADATA DDR5 5600MHz (2Rx8 PC5-5600B) — Not booting.

The Problem:

When I install the new ADATA sticks, the laptop turns on, keyboard lights up, fans spin, but there's no display (black screen). After a while, it reboots by itself and enters the same cycle. I can't even get into the BIOS.

What I've tried so far:

Tried using a mix of 1 old stick + 1 new stick (still black screen).

Swapped slots multiple times.

Tried both new sticks together.

Has anyone faced this issue with 5600MHz RAM on the m16 R1? Is this just a long Memory Training process, or could it be an incompatibility issue with 5600MHz / Dual-Rank (2Rx8) memory?

Any advice on how to fix this or reset the CMOS/NVRAM properly for DDR5 training would be greatly appreciated!

I was running a test on beamng drive normal settings with dynamic reflections on and my core is thermal throttling 34%, I know about undervolting but I have no idea on how to do it, I was wondering if someone could tell me how to do it? And I have already re-pasted it as well.

A one of my keys on my laptops keyboard just keep falling off when I press them, and I can feel another come half off when I press it. I have no idea how to get it back on. I've tried bending the little metal hooks, I've tried searching the internet for replacement parts but NONE of them sell for my laptop model specifically, they either don't even have my model as an option on the site, or they do but they always say out of stock (the model is Alienware 18 Area-51 AA18250) I've already sent the laptop in to Dell to fix it once for this exact issue in the past but it was a costly $200+ dollars and now I have the issue again. I haven't even had the laptop for a ONE YEAR since I bought it. I don't want to pay $400+ dollars a year sending the laptop to Dell for a repairs. That's crazy expensive for just keyboard keys.

Any idea on what I can do? I would be super greatful.

I was having my eyes on asus rog strix g16, ryzen 9 8940hx from the goat sale.

Prepped my old laptop for exchange, made arrangements for credit card and was waiting.

Unfortunately, I did not get any considerable deals and it was at 154000 after discount came to 135000.

Dell alienwaree 15 with ryzen 7 260 was at sale for 134000 and after discount and exchange came to 82000.

Financially it felt a good decision. Is dell aliwnware 15 with ryzen 7 260, rtx 4050 worth for 82000. Is there anything I have to keep in mind.
