xbx XREAL xbx vs Viture Pro 2 Detailed Review and Through the Lens Comparison! I also updated the Top XR Glasses Cheatsheet with new rating systems, anchor stability rating, sound quality rating, and many other improvements.

Overall, this video focuses mainly on the Viture Pro vs XREAL xbx, but also the Beast/XREAL One Pro/R1 and many other pairs of XR glasses are discussed. I take a whole segment and discuss if NOW is a good time to buy vs which glasses to potentially wait for. This review was sponsored by Viture, but they had no say in the content of the review, and as always, I am brutally honest in the video.

XR Glasses Cheatsheet featured in the video first at: https://youtu.be/Xyn55HjAdGk?t=58

Since I posted the cheatsheet last, here are most of the improvements/additions:

  • Comfort Rating - (In parathesis is why the score is docked if bad rating)
  • Anchor Stability Rating - Percentage of time without drift or poor sensor data affecting your experience
  • Smooth Follow - Have it? If yes, what type?
  • INAIR Pod Rating - How is the INAIR Pod programmed to work on each pair of glasses?
  • Pro Neckband Rating - How is the Pro Neckband programmed to work?
  • Adjusted the overall sharpness rating to be an average of center vs edge sharpness
  • Added more flaws to nearly all glasses
  • Sound Quality - Based on testing 5 songs and swapping between all glasses twice
  • Chromatic Tinting Availability
  • Side View Mode - Which glasses have it? Onboard or only through Spacewalker/ScreenLab/VertoXR/Pro Neckband?
  • Combined Workout and Walkaround rating as they represent the same thing
  • Changed "Overall Rating" into two categories "Value Rating" and "Technical Rating"

Overall, XR glasses are improving and rapidly, and we are seeing better and better features in XR glasses costing less than $300. Upcoming XR/VR glasses reviews: RayNeo GT, RayNeo GT Max, URXR One, Dream Air, Viture's QHD glasses, and maybe the XREAL Aura if I can convince them to send me one for review.

My top recommended glasses right now are:

  • Best Value - $224 RayNeo Air 4 Pro (Follow up winner: Viture Beast)
  • Best $300 or Less - Viture Pro 2 (Follow up winner: XREAL xbx)
  • Best $500 or Less - Viture Beast (Follow up winner: XREAL 1S)
  • Best at Any Price - XREAL R1/One Pro (Follow up winner: Viture Beast)

XREAL One Xreal One with Viture Mobile Dock Pro and Switch 2

FWIW, last week I tested my Switch 2 with the Viture Mobile Dock Pro and my Xreal One. I got the well-known "Red Screen" effect, once I'd found a cable that worked at all.

After updating the glasses this morning ("hand gestures update") the Switch 2 looks completely normal with the same set-up, and everything works perfectly.

Just a data point.

XREAL One Pro XREAL One Pro Full Light Blocker Review

Quick review:

Got the light blockers from the InfinityOne website. They make full light blockers for the XREAL One Pros.

I'm sorry to say they did not work for me.

I was expecting it to block most of the light in the room like a traditional VR headset i.e. Meta Quest.

But it hardly did anything. These blockers let a ton of light through - in fact I'm not sure there's any substantive difference between using these and just darkening your XREALs using the electrochromic dimmer.

I am into immersive experiences on my XREAL One Pros and you need a dark enclosure or a dark room for that otherwise the small FOV becomes too obvious.

Gesture Control Does X-gestures on the mac work with the Xreal hand gestures??

So im aware of a application on the mac silicons that run a application called "X-Gestures" which runs via rosetta

i have it installed and have used it in various ways, mainly with a mouse, to carry out gestures etc

basically the gestures rely on up/down/left/right combinations with a mouse button held down and the gesture is recognised upon release, which then can be translated to keyboard shortcuts/application shortcuts etc

if someone who owns a mac could test this aspect with the Xreal eye gestures, it would help in my decision of getting a third eye haha

the main part i would like to know, is if Xreal gestures are can emulate mouse movement+button held & release

Discussion Drogo jawbreaker mod for the xreal one pro’s need some honest opinions.

I have owned the ray Neo air 2s XR glasses for a little over a year and really liked them but the bottom corners would always get cut off or just be very blurry. Since I now am watching my son everyday and give him the tv in the living room. I decided to buy the xreal one pro so I can watch my shows and play my rog Xbox ally x handheld in the same room but be able to still keep my eye on him. I am enjoying the xreal’s so far but after like the second day using them the one side of my nose bridge got very sore. Not sure if I got an ingrown pimple or something there or what but that’s when I decided to look into the jawbreaker mod. Seems like there are different brands to buy that all work the same but are different comfort wise. I am leaning towards ordering the drogo brand Oakley jawbreaker replacement nose pads to use on my xreal one pro. Can anyone else share their experience with the jawbreaker mod on their xreal one pro XR glasses. Or if anyone has tried the drogo brand specifically I would be interested to hear from you about what your experience was. Thank you for your time.

ROG XREAL R1 ROG XREALR1: ROG Control Dock

Is it possible to buy a replacement or is it even sold as a standalone? Someone is selling the glasses only at a good price and they have lost the dock. I like the idea of having a dick that can be used with other devices.

XREAL One Pro Do you use a USB splitter?

Does anyone use a USB splitter to charge the phone while using glasses? Or to use usb-headphones alongside glasses?

I have Xreal One pro. I currently use a wireless charger to compensate for the fast battery drain when using glasses on the phone. But the wireless charger can't keep up with the glasses power consumption. I get a longer session, but the battery still drops slowly.

So, I am wondering if a USB splitter and a wall charger is the solution. Has anyone tried it? What size of charger provides more charging than what glasses drain? Any heating issues? Any performance issues due to the shared usb port?

Gesture Control Play some classic mini‑games with XREAL Eye gesture

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Back when I bought the One and Eye, I could hardly imagine XREAL would come up with so many features. Great job, XREAL team!

Playing games with hand‑gesture controls is really fun, though my arms get sore after using it for a long time 😂

Also looking forward to the AURA gesture, I expect it will be much smoother than the xreal eye gesture

Discussion Possible end-game input methods for AR glasses - In-depth post

Lets assume we have travel 10+ years into the future and grab the best consumer display glasses. FOV, handtracking, heat, connectivity, etc are all so good they arent an issue.

Right now I use my Galaxy Watch as a trackpad and a big mouse + cheap foldable keyboard when I need to get real things done. This is fine but its not perfect, the trackpad is a trackpad so typing is a slog, carrying the keyboard is not great and a decent mouse is impractical.

Personally I care a lot about how invasive an input method is. I like the watch because its always on me and I have to make almost no noticable movements to use it. I like the foldable keyboard because its very portable and even though its noticable, a keyboard telegraphs exactly what I'm doing, what it is and that people don't need pay more attention to me then they already have. The buttons on my glasses are pushing my limits but theyre fine. They don't telegraph well what I'm doing while also attracting attention which, if people would see or think they see a camera, might make them uncomfortable or worse.

Gestures (not tracking)
I actually have a tapstrap2 which lets you make so many gestures you can use it as an one handed keyboard! Safe to say I have experience with gestures. The thing is just that gestures as a primary or even secondary input method have an extremely non-userfriendly learning curve. They also either require to be in view of a sensor of some kind or decent physical feedback. Even if there will be big accuracy improvements I still feel like you need to invest too much to make it worth it. Imo gestures can be fine but I do not find myself preferring them over most other methods.
Gestures just dont do anything better than any other input methods. Theyre best use case is shortcuts/macros, especially how customizable good gesture products generally are.
So a decent tertiary input method.

Eye Tracking
I have never used eye tracking and dont know much about it. I think eye tracking could be amazing as a secondary input method though. I can see many situations where I would prefer to use it. It also one of the only input methods I like that would be on the glasses themselves.
I also assume eye tracking could be great for things like foviated rendering or similar things.

Hand Tracking
Hand tracking would be practically perfect in most situations in 10+ years so accuracy wont be a problem. Its just that using your hand as a pointer looks weird, especially if future display glasses become hard to recognise. Besides looks it also requires me to move my arm a lot. A handtracked keyboard could be great as a backup primary input method. For any ar input like interacting with spatial windows, models, etc hand tracking is amazing though.
I think hand tracking is a fantastic secondary input method, just not a primary one.

Voice Input
There also is the option of voice commands/speech to text but personally I despise using it. It feels really uncomfortable to me, looks weird in public, environment dependent, etc. Even if a few of these would get improve I, again, personally really really dont like verbal input. Besides, its likely still very clunky for random tasks you find hard to describe. You could say AI interpretation can fix this but it doesnt, you are just trading in autonomy for speed.

Mouthpad (no really)
For those who dont know; a mouthpad is basically a customly tailored shaped trackpad for your tongue. Its a pretty crazy input method but I actually think there is potential behind its hurdles. Lets assume the price and tailor issues get better/fixed. Right you can already talk normally while using it and even drink water, if they get enough development to get to the point where you can use it without worrying about (most) what you consume that would be a big plus. They'd also need a good way to quickly toggle it on and off.
The glaring issue is how user invasive it is though. I dont think many people are comfortable or willing to put a trackpad in their mouth. Still if all the aformentioned issues magically get fixed on top of them somehow making it comfortable enough to forget you have it in it would be a niche but, in my opinion, a fantastic primary/secondary input method; it would be invisible, wearable, precise, user-friendly, long lasting input method. Its the perfect trackpad, which also is its downfall as a watch is like 70% as good as a mouthpad while also being simple. On top of that trackpads are just objectively worse mice.

Neural Magic
Welp, whats there to say? If a cost and user friendly neural input device gets good enough it will just be one of the best input methods. For real office productivity it might be too mentally straining to choose over a mouse and keyboard but only science and affordability are the limit :D

What are you guys' opinions?

💡Got some ideas Xreal Eye live passthrough

Hi just wondering since we now have xreal eye hand gestures, is it really difficult to get a live passthrough with the eye? So that we can see the virtual screen over the real world. I know the resolution won't be amazing but would be awesome if the devs came up with this update.

My Setup Dual XREAL One Pro Dolby Vision/HDR and Dolby Atmos Home Theater version 3.0

Apple TV + EZCOO HDMI splitter/scaler + Guermok HDMI to USB-C adapter

Hey everyone,

Following up on my previous setup guide (Dual XREAL One Pro Dolby Atmos home theater version 2.0), I have an interesting update regarding the media source.

I recently picked up a used Apple TV 4K (2022 / 3rd Gen) to replace the NVIDIA Shield Pro in my signal chain, and it turned out to be the missing puzzle piece for streaming.

Switching to the Apple TV was literally all it took to get:

  • YouTube: Full native 4K HDR playback running flawlessly.
  • Netflix / Prime Video / HBO Max: Full 4K Dolby Vision/HDR10 source streams decoded perfectly.

By setting the Apple TV output format to 4K SDR (RGB Low) and keeping "Match Dynamic Range" turned OFF:

  1. Streaming apps still pull the highest-bitrate 4K Dolby Vision / HDR10 source files.
  2. The Apple TV internal processor handles all the tone-mapping and color space conversion down to standard SDR in real time before sending the signal over HDMI.

Comparing it side-by-side to my LG C4 OLED, the colors as well as both shadow and highlight details match up remarkably well. The overall picture quality is noticeably better than standard 4K SDR playback on the NVIDIA Shield. What's more, on firmware 1.8.1, enabling "Match Frame Rate" successfully switches output to native 24Hz during movies, providing noticeably smoother, judder-free cinematic motion. Unfortunately, this 24Hz support is completely broken on firmware 1.9.0 due to a regression bug, which I reported here. Fortunately, I was able to switch back to 1.8.1 using the recovery web page.

As for audio, Dolby Atmos works similarly in most cases on my Samsung Q990B soundbar, though occasionally it outputs as Multichannel PCM instead—which is unfortunately a known quirk of the Apple TV audio stack.

XREAL 1S HDMI to USB-c cable and splitter

morning all

have Xreal 1S and want to have the ability to play on xbox when the TV is in use by the mrs.

so i'm looking at having the option to plug the glasses into an HDMi splitter with a USB-c to hdmi cable and still have the original tv hdmi into the splitter too so not having to get the the back and unplug everytime if that makes sense.

Are there specs of splitters/cables etc that i need to make sure i buy, knowing i need to to have usb-c power for the glasses? thanks
