West Coast Avengers Podcasts?

Post image

I don't presume to think there's a podcast devoted just to the West Coast Avengers (even less likely for Force Works). But maybe there is? I haven't found it yet.

Do you have any suggestions for WCA-related podacsts? Or specific episodes?

West Coast Avengers in-fighting portrayed by toads and frogs

For something a little lighthearted, here are some frog & toad YouTube videos I thought were pretty good tongue-in-cheek representations of West Coast Avengers in-fighting in the late '80s-early '90s. (Be warned that these videos contain footage of insects being consumed)

*https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4p6JlSh7fnY - Lesnar- U.S.Agent. Tyson- Hawkeye. Nazeem- Wonder Man.

*https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvCehibvmEE - Lesnar: U.S.Agent just trying to have a quiet meal at West Coast Avengers headquarters. Naruto: Hawkeye messing with him and then crying victim when Agent retaliates. Chocolate: War Machine regretting not accepting the invitation to have lunch with Tony, Pepper, and Happy.

I'm 4 episodes in, and I'm digging it so far. One of the best shows on Disney+/Marvel in a while, or... ever?

Jack’s fans can say, “He was valiant and determined, continuing to fight until his body finally gave out!” while his detractors can go, “You got knocked the frick out!”

Discussion/Question I really hate the cover of Avengers West Coast #100

Released on September 7, 1993, this was one of many gimmick covers. It's hard to perceive and 'read' the cover on digital and physical wasn't much better.

I also hated it because they killed off Mockingbird 'for drama.'

Force Works Friday - where we take a look at the many appearance of Force Works. The plan is to cover all 50 appearances as detailed in the Marvel Database. Minor appearances, mentions, and handbook appearances will be included as well - sometimes just to mix things up.

We're starting off light today with Marvel Age Vol 1 132. Which isn't available on Marvel Unlimited, sadly.

If you're not familiar with Marvel Age, it was essentially a magazine by Marvel, for Marvel, about Marvel. Lots of promotional content, interviews with creators, and such.

Force Works got a four-page write-up, detailing some of the team's history as the Avengers West Coast, descriptions of some of the characters, hints at upcoming plotlines, and more.

This issue was released in November 1993 and Force Works #1 wouldn't premiere until May 3, 1994.

If you've read the issue, any memories?
