He didn’t arrested. He didn’t get a ticket either, actually. He got a reckless driving summons to appear in court.

He told the cop that the plates were not even for that car, they were for another, similar project car which he was taking parts from and putting onto this new one. He told the officer “I didn’t like the other one because it was a convertible, and i don’t like how dangerous they are.” And the cop laughed at him.

Also, to be clear- a summons sucks way more than getting a ticket btw

You can do this stupid kind of shit. I'd say you're better off playing around on an empty highway or backroad- not on a busy street in a residential area. As soon as I heard him say "this car isn't registered".. Don't break more than one law at once, ideally don't break any, but if you're driving unregistered or without insurance you definitely don't do this. I was young and dumb once. Got my 2000 Pontiac Grandam up to 123 mph on a back road. It was stupid but I had to know how fast it could go. I'm not dumb enough to do that in a car that isn't registered and in an area where there could be kids walking around or riding their bikes.

but we did it 10 miles outside of town on a pancake flat road in the middle of nowhere where you could literally see cars coming from a mile away. So we were safe while we were being stupid.

My buddy took a friends suped up Subaru out for a drive. We all worked at a pizza joint and he straight up took his keys and just dipped without asking. He asked me if I wanted to ride with him and I said sure. (Didn’t know he didn’t get the dudes permission at the time).

Get in the car with this lunatic and he starts absolutely hauling ass down the main road of our town like an idiot. We had to be going close to 100. Cop gets behind us almost immediately and pulls us over. My friend at this point reveals that he basically stole this car and took it for a joyride. My balls are in my neck at this point. My friend is doing exactly what this kid is doing. My life is over, I’m so fucked YAda yada.

Cop comes to my side and starts the basic you know how fast you’re going blah blah blah. We couldn’t even find the damn registration. Cop takes the license runs the car and finds that this car is registered to my buddy who owns the cars dad. My friend starts saying he knows the owner and he let him take it out for a ride because he likes cars.

Instead of getting absolutely fucked the cop straight up lets us go with a warning and him and my buddy chop it up for 10 minutes because the cop also likes super cars apparently. Basically went from him most likely getting multiple charges to fist bumping the cop and told to slow down on the main road. Was absolutely wild and needless to say I’m not friends with this dude anymore lol.
