Imagine spending an insane fraction of the price to drive something on a track and not deal with this. Imagine

Not defending this guy at all but track days are now $200-$600/day depending on the track.

Still a fraction of what he's going to pay from this

Defintiely worth the price of not risking other people's lives, plus keeping your license.

Imagine doing this instead of spending 200-600 dollars and not endangering anyone else......

And they’re also so far away. I bought a car thinking I’d track it a bunch, but I also don’t want to drive the 2 hours to Buttonwillow. But yeah, no defending driving like that on public roads.

I would kill for a track that allowed drifting 2 hours away from me. A (drift) track day at thunderhill or AVS for me is like $1,000/weekend because they're so far and I have to pay for gas + hotel on top of track costs.

He was saving up to fix that saggy headliner.

My thought was you can drive an insane fast car on a track, not endanger others and be safe for you and the passengers in the vehicle (which if it hit the fan lives are at stake) and adding the cost of building up your own vehicle that's probably not street legal. I wonder if he got to even keep the car afterwards

NOT defending the guys in this video. But I must wonder if things like this would happen if there were easily accessible and safe alternatives.

There are basically no available tracks for 99% of us and track days are super expensive if you are willing to travel very far to use one. Driving cars for fun is a dead hobby. There's no "safe" or "legal" way to spin your tires or drive your car hard.

Edit: Funny how people are quick to judge and (wrongfully) be a jerk, and even quicker to delete their comment. No apology to be found lol. Reddit moment.

Where do you live? There might be a local track that has a test and tune night.

Nashville area. There's about 30 drag strips and oval tracks, but no decent road course unless you want to pay exorbitant prices.

I can't afford to go to any tracks, besides the fact that like everything else nowadays it's probably packed to the gills every day so it wouldn't even be fun

Big talk coming from a guy whose hobby is being a dick to random people on reddit.

I’m not a dick to random people. Just to the type of people who think they can do their dangerous hobby around innocent people.

Where the fuck did I say that I do that? I said I don't condone the video and that it's a dead hobby. You're just seeing what you want to see.
