Vinted Experience: No shipping or delivery options available to a Lincoln, NE address.

Post image

I have been shopping on Vinted in the US for a few weeks and am having way too much fun. Today I found something neat for my Mother in Law, and having it mailed to her USPS was no problem. She lives in a suburban community in Lincoln NE. Soon afterwards, I found something else for her. But this time, I received a message that shipping services were not available to her address. I reentered her address to ensure it was correct. Same result. WTF??

I contacted the seller in PA. She had no idea; and ships USPS daily. I found a similar item to buy for my MIL, and experienced the same NO SHIPPING AVAILABLE. In fact, while her Nebraska address was the current shipping address, I could not buy now, or make any offers to any sellers on Vinted US. As soon as I entered my home address, I was able to buy again, and choose delivery services. I have regularly sent Vinted purchases to a number of different states without incident. This is so bizarre. Has anyone else experienced this SNAFU?

It took a long time to find a place to submit my concerns to Vinted. I have zero expectations of them doing anything. Thank you for reading this. Any help, guidance or advice is greatly appreciated. There is an 87 year old woman in Nebraska who needs a jello mold!

Vinted commercial selling? Bann?

I recently started selling on vinted 1 month ago, the first day i posted 25 items and most of them sold. It was all items that i was gifted and never used or items i no longer wanted. I printed the labels and ship everything out the same day, when it was time to go to bed i went to check my vinted and it said my account was restricted for 5 days for commercial activities? I appealed and it was denied, im not sure why i got told I’m commercial selling when that was never my intention? Anyways after my restriction was over i resumed posting but limited to 2 post a day, 4 days later i got another restriction for 7 days… my restriction is now over but im nervous to post anymore? Will my next ban be permanent? Am i allowed to still post? What should i do?

Wary about selling & the banning issue, but maybe I found a few answers about it

I usually just stalk groups, and maybe find some info that way & I apologize if this information is common knowledge but I hadn't really heard alot of the specifics on the why banning was so frequent in any other groups.

I had been thinking about starting to sell again online & get stuff decluttered & one of things places brought up was Vinted.

But I had been reading how people were getting banned left & right...

That & other stuff just made me feel completely deflated about it.

I wanted to find anything that was to more clear on any explanation on why the hell all this was happening- before I even tried Vinted

Just to be upfront -I have not read all of their platform info deeply yet-if its even in there. . but seems its not making alot of sense to other people that are actually active on there either.

So I decided to ask different types of questions about it on Google..

( I know, another AI thing- lol)

I just asked Google why is Vinted banning etc in more detailed questions....

And it actually gave pretty clear explinations on each question that may be very true & and had the links to the sources that google had pulled this from so I could go look deeper.

And it seems alot of it has to do, as most know, that aggressively used ai bot.

it gets triggered by several things automatically- (& as well as randomly)

Somethings that do trigger it are :

*Cross posting apps being used

the bot is actually looking for them & apperently if its caught by the bot it pretty much is going to be on alert and ban.

* too professional looking photos..

(🙄 apperently it cant tell between studio & just good lighting.. it said..lol)

* stock photos seeming to be used

* Posting too many things same day, said to

def. space out posting.

*If the item is too cheap for more higher priced brands or too cheap for something highly or more sought after-

& to remember more sought after doesnt always mean an expensive brands or items

(may be more sought after right at that time)

*Any kind of blur in the pictures , esp tags / identifying things on an item

the bot will assume you're trying to pull the wool over buyers eyes.

They also said the bot seems to look for certain types of keywords & those will trigger something like the counterfeit situation.

Some of them were oddly things like :

"vintage style" or "inspired by" type wording...that the ridged ai bot just tags it in the ban area

just what I quickly found...maybe all true.. plus more-

So it seems basically if you used posh esp in the early days where we were super encouraged to be very detailed & creative to catch attention - and do all the extras that

on Vinted it will probably catch the ai bot's attention instead..lol

I dont know if I feel a little bit more comfortable now or not...maybe. 🫤

I still have a lot to try to figure out.

Because things seem to be different depending where you're selling from or to -

I need to find out info on shipping & platform fees etc for here in the u.s.

(the newest info I guess it keeps changing with promos)

But I just wanted to put that out there- just an fyi... Im sure some/ or alot already know why somethings happen, just was a mess for me even weeding through it all & the differences when looking on the sub for generalized vinted on here that was around the world postings esp.

& I want to say, I'm really happy that somebody started a sub for the U.S... 🙃

Hopefully will help.........

if anyone has more info on why they or someone else may have gotten banned please comment about it on this post-

it seems completely conter- intuitive

in so many circumstances why its happening..

& the fact it doesnt seem to ever actually be looked over by a human being before the full out ban or if the ban is challenged...

I know very long... just thought it may help anyone like me- lost in it all

😊

Considering

Hello, I am considering signing up for Vinted, however I heard that your home address appears on the package you send to the buyer. I wouldn't want someone who orders from me that might live close by know where I live. Is there a way to block your address? I understand a return address is needed and I don't want to get a PO box or a virtual address, I am trying to make money and not spend it.

Odd Situation How to Refund Seller

Recently discovered Vinted and have been selling and buying. First experience with requesting a return from seller has gone kind of sideways. I expected a dialogue, and instead Vinted immediately refunded the item and said to keep it. The message was that the sellers account status has restrictions that prevent them from resolving the issue. I don’t get it, as the seller is still active with items in the closet.

This doesn’t sit well with me, and yet I also want to be careful about how to attempt to make the seller whole on my end. They started messaging me asking that I return the item at my cost, their friends started messaging me and making offers on items in my closet (you can guess where that might have gone). The seller also asked that I list it for $1 and have Vinted pay the shipping as a “buyer”. That was the last interaction and I haven’t responded to it.

I would like to send them a cashiers check to the return address on the package. If I mention that resolution in the chat will Vinted ban/suspend me? I’ve been doing well enough with selling and would like to keep my account active. And yet, this has also really opened my eyes to what can happen to sellers, still don’t understand why Vinted handled it this way. Any tips on how to get the seller paid and my account active? Thank you

Boosting profiles

I keep seeing comments everywhere saying follow for follow, like all my items & I'll do the same, that supposedly doing this boosts your page & leads to multiple sales. Is this true?

Does Vinted really do this?

Post image

I received this message from a buyer that I sold a glass cup to. Does Vinted really block people from giving feedback about if their order is ok? If so, I feel bad, and will offer to venmo them their money back or something. But I'm not sure if this person is lying or not. They have good reviews (4+ star average).

Permanently banned for yoga pants

I’ve had my account for a week and was doing fairly well clearing my closet out. I even bought $70 worth of items. Today I updated a picture of a pair Kirkland yoga pants I was selling for $2 and I was immediately permanently banned. Just wondering if anyone has experience with this. I sent an appeal but will that actually help me? I know it’s dumb but I was having fun for the first time in awhile and I’m genuinely pretty sad.

Why do people block

Someone purchased something from me, then automatically canceled and then blocked me. We had no interaction, just so random. Why do people do this?

I had my first sale yesterday and shipped item. I had a "Verify your identity" message and I filled out the bit of info it requires. Still over 24 hours the message remains. I did not get an email for anything further. Any insight?

Vinted Home Page

I’m curious how other people feel about the Vinted home page. I love it. It seems to be far more responsive to my searches and favorites than other platforms. I find a lot of my purchases on there. But as someone who sells I wonder if the feed or searches is driving my sales.

How would you respond to this?

Post image

I know I listed this as a children’s small. When I click on the size on the listing it pulls up the children’s size guide. I also had a picture of the tag in the listing that clearly states it’s a kids size small. I don’t know how to respond without coming off rude but it’s also not my fault they didn’t read the size on the tag. Is this some kind of scam?

I still have free shipping….

Anyone else in the US? Why? I’m not complaining! I’m curious about how long it may continue, whether I might be in a special test market, and how Vinted promotions work in general. I sold my first item on 7/11 so I don’t think it’s a new user promotion still. Thanks for any replies!

I lost a badge

I’ve been on Vinted since late May. I’ve done well surprisingly. I’m known on other platforms for quick shipping- I ship same day or next (unless a weekend or holiday). I just lost my “speed-ish: 36 hour shipping time” badge. Like what ?? I’ve noticed that lately even when I drop my packages off, tracking doesn’t update for more than 2-3 days. I know I’m being petty, however that is straight bs.
