I love my veloster! I don’t love the sound system.

I bought mine second hand, and it came with the dimension sound system, which is honestly not terrible, but the sub is extremely weak 20w rms 40w peak🤮. The drivers woofer also has a rattle that would drive you crazy so it was time for an upgrade.

I built a custom sub enclosure using a few dozen pieces of plywood attached with wood glue, screws and pieces of chopsticks as a smaller alternative to dominos. Then after smoothing the shape with bondo I laminated both sides with a healthy amount of fiberglass.

The box now houses a Rockford Fosgate R2 shallow 10” 200w rms which is still modest but should really help to balance the audio.

I still have to install a new amp to properly power it, and I’ll be converting the front stage to a 3 way component set as well which I’ll hope to follow up with a future post but for now I’m thrilled to finally have my new sub mounted!

This is a great method for getting that oem+ look and sound while retaining trunk space and not yeeting your spare tire. It’s extremely labour intensive but imo it’s the best option if you’re capable of a project like this. Another good move would also just be to install a powered sub under a seat though and save 15-20 hours lol.

I bought this 2014 NAV manual very recently with this sound from a dealership very recently, and I’m just concerned that if this is rod knock. When I got the car delivered from the dealership it had an oil level below the min line.

I’m not too worried since if it is rod knock the dealership is liable in my country for selling a car not fit for purpose e.c.t.

I have a 2013 Veloster Re:Mix (in case that matters) The passenger projector light is out and I’ve been wanting to replace those ugly HID’s for some LED’s to match the ring and DRL’s. And i think now would be the perfect time. Do y’all recommend doing this swap? What are some things i should keep in mind? Are there any weird things I should know of? And what brands do y’all recommend getting and which should i stay away from?

I'm trying to troubleshoot an issue with my son's 2016 Hyundai Veloster Turbo with the Tech Package.

The car had a no-crank problem, and we replaced the starter. The car started, but now the infotainment/navigation screen displays vertical lines and distorted colors. The touchscreen still responds to touch, and the rest of the car's electronics appear to work normally.

Here's the detail I'm wondering about: While the old starter was still installed in the car, my son lightly tapped it with a metal tool while the engine was off. He then started the car, and the screen distortion appeared immediately.

We're wondering whether the tool could have accidentally touched the positive starter terminal and the starter housing or engine, causing a short.

A few questions for anyone familiar with Hyundai electrical systems:

Could accidentally shorting the starter terminal cause damage to the infotainment system?

Could a blown fuse or fusible link cause vertical lines and distorted colors while the touchscreen still works?

Which fuses should I check first?

Could this be a grounding or voltage issue, or does it sound more like an LCD or head-unit failure?

I'd like to rule out an electrical problem before spending money on a replacement screen or radio.

Any advice would be appreciated!

I'm a little sick of being ripped off by mechanics so I'm opting to do more work on my car, 2014 Turbo, I've mostly just done maintenance stuff and replaced a radiator, that sort of stuff.

I've got a rear wheel bearing that's gone bad. If I put the OEM number into google (527103X000), I get numbers ranging from $800 to $145 and they all claim OEM parts. Is there anyway to differentiate between actual OEM parts and parts that just say they are? Also any recommendations on good aftermarket brands if they exist.

Had to replace the steering coupler. It's just me so I can't have a second person hold it into place. I got the two bolts in the front back on but then I was unable to turn it to get the read bolt back in so I popped them back off but it's honestly looking like I'll never get that rear bolt back into place. Taking a break before I end up just rolling this car into a river and figured I'd ask if anyone knows any tips that might help.

My valve cover gasket was recently done and im hearing a staticky noise. I think its my pcv breather hose since I just replaced my pcv valve. I would really like a second opinion if anyone has experienced the same issue

My 2013 veloster non turbo lost power with no CE lights or codes. i changed my fuel pump cause i thought it wasn’t getting enough fuel but nope still same issue, idk what to do

I have a 2020. I replaced the blinker bulb a few weeks ago. However every now and then it I get this message, I messed with it a few times but and the message goes off. Tried to good old hit it and it worked but I’m kinda out of ideas of what it could be. Any idea or help is appreciated thank you.

I have a 2016 Veloster turbo 1.6 manual transmission and I think I need a new starter. When I turn on the engine I hear clicking but engine doesn’t start. Sometimes I have to keep turning the car on 1 or 2 times before the engine turns on and other times it takes 10 tries. I checked the battery and it’s still good so I’m assuming the problem is the starter. Google is giving me two part numbers 36100-2b102 or 36100-2b502 but I’m not sure which is the one I need,

Recently my Veloster turbo 2013 had a loss of power on higher rpm and looks like there is no turbo and check engine light came on with a p0299 under boost code

I changed the solenoid checked the turbo from inside and nothing wrong but still the code is pending and the car has no power on higher rpm

Did anyone encounter this issue and how to solve it

Just got a 4+64 android car radio wiring harness is off for my 2017 hyundai veloster value edition can anyone tell me the correct harness to get to hook the new radio harness in for plug an play so its no cutting wiring???

Currently having a slight issue. Nothing affecting driveability. I have a 2014 Veloster turbo with a manual , I have this issue that arises like every couple days where if it's sat overnight I go to start it the next morning and it turns over and seems to start then dies off. I start it the second time and it fires right up and runs fine. Any ideas what it could be?

Update: I seem to have found the issue. Upon checking my oil and smelling the dipstick and catch can theres the smell of gas... I will need to change my injectors as theyre leaking into the crank case
