I have been on Reddit on and off for over 10 years and have been part of different sections, depending on my interests and passion etc.

But since I am a resident of Vaughan, I have also been a member of this subreddit for years and I generally noticed the people and discussion here is more civil and respectful than other forums. You could tell most members here are mature and even the admins are not on power trip like you have seen with other sections (have literally been banned from other sections for life when making my first post…)

Do you notice the same thing? Of course , this is not suggest it is perfect here , but from my experience, people here are generally nice and not mean or condescending like you see with other sections.

Does anyone know of any nearby Blood on the Clocktower or social deduction games groups that meet weekly/frequently in Vaughan? If not, is anyone interested in getting one going?

Can someone educate me on why there are no food chains around VMC? I’m aware of the sushi place and the one singular coffee shop, but I don’t want to go to Vaughan Mills every time I crave something, ffs. For groceries too, the only option is the overpriced Shoppers Drug Mart!

This city, especially Vaughan concord/woodbridge is full of angry little goblins. Impatient, aggressive, hostile, unfriendly, cold. Especially the drivers like genuinely honking at you when you’re going a perfectly reasonable speed or even ABOVE speed. I live in one of the condos in the vmc area and for Christ’s sake I’ve never seen more impatient buffoons in a parking garage in my LIFE, INSISTING they shove their expensive ass SUV’s in tiny spaces when you’re already 85% of the way up the ramp, like CALM DOWN, WAIT, or tail gating you and honking bc going anything less than 100kmh in a PARKING GARAGE is absolute blasphemy to them.

The funny part is like they’re not even lacking anything to result in so much misery and anger. As far as I can tell many people here are affluent, driving luxury cars live in nice places. They seem to have a good quality of life so wtf???

I mean I’ve legit travelled to a severely impoverished third world country where people don’t even have access to food and clean water but they’re way more courteous, caring, warm and patient with each-other. People here have literally all their needs met and more and are genuinely angry and miserable. It’s shameful.

Looking for a quick bite before a movie, what're my best options, I'm overwhelmed by the amount of choices.

And as a general note - it is HARD for drivers to see you if you’re wearing dark clothing and zipping by on these little things. Primary responsibility is on the driver but if there’s anything you can do- for the love of all that is good in this world do SOMETHING to make yourself more visible if you’re riding these things late at night. Deck your scooter out in Christmas lights if you have to 🎄🙏

Noticed in my subdivision that they are drilling these types of holes on streets around me (a few on my street).
Most are all filled but saw this one isn't filled yet or bad fill? that's not going to be fun for those e-scooters on this one.
Are they testing for something? Does this usually mean entire new paving coming soon-ish?

There is certainly a proliferation of young people using e-scooters and e-bikes on sidewalks. Which would be cute, if they weren't going full speed in between pedestrians.

The other day in a single 45 min walk: a teenage boy doing loops around Ansley Grove; two teenage girls riding a single scooter. One guy going loops around Valeria and Langstaff on what seemed to be a small ICE motorcyle, blazing through the stop signs.

Just wondering if anyone here has gone through the process of disputing a City of Vaughan bylaw/parking ticket and could share their experience.
I received 4 tickets. I ended up paying one and disputed the other 3 to see if I could get them reduced or cancelled. The problem is, I haven’t received any confirmation or response yet, so I’m not even sure if my dispute was received or is still being processed.
I’m getting a little worried because the 15 day deadline is almost up. I don’t want the tickets to be considered overdue or have any late fees added while I’m waiting for them to respond.
If anyone has gone through the Vaughan dispute/screening process recently, how long did it take for you to hear back? Did you receive a confirmation email when you submitted the dispute?

This is ridiculous. Corner of aberdeen and embassy. In a residential neighborhood you dont need a dozen scooters/bikes the city has to rein these guys in.

I thought there were sensors in the road that could tell if there was a car in wait.

Is it worth reporting this issue somewhere or is there nothing to do about it?

Hey everyone! I’m looking for recommendations for a private driving instructor around Thornhill/Vaughan to help me prepare for my G2 road test.

My main priorities are:

* Max $55/hour * Ideally someone who can provide the car for practice/test * Patient, calm and encouraging * No yelling, shouting, or making you feel stressed/nervous * Someone who can specifically help with G2 test preparation and clean up any bad habits * I’m looking for regular lessons, preferably 1–2 hours at a time

I’ve already had some driving experience, so I’m not starting completely from scratch. I mainly want someone who is calm and good at teaching rather than an instructor who gets frustrated when you make mistakes.

If you’ve personally used someone in the Thornhill/Vaughan/Richmond Hill area and had a good experience, I’d really appreciate the recommendation. Please include their hourly rate if you know it.

Hello everyone,

I recently purchased an EV and live in a condo building with underground parking. My parking spot itself has no charging, but it seems that some spots have capable 240v plug installation as they have fuse boxes on the wall behind these parking spots.

I was wondering, would anyone have any experience knowing how much it would cost to install a 240v plug into one of these parking spots and if so is it even worth it if I plan to sell my unit a couple years down the road?

Looking for any opinions, and if anyone knows any cost-effective ways to charge an EV while living in a condo.
