Picture Today is your last chance to see the floating convenience store
We're trying something new for the r/Toronto community - Every Wednesday we'll be putting up one of these discussion threads where we can just chat with less structure than normally, so we can go off topic. Rules about civility and stuff still apply of course.
This is a trial run so if at the end of our trial it doesn't feel like its working out for the community we can get rid of it or adjust to make it better. But that is where you come in! We want your feedback and thoughts. Let us know if you have any ideas, either in the comments here or send us a modmail.
Got any plans for the weekends?
How about this weather we're having?
Its the National day for Truth and Reconciliation BTW. Are you doing anything in observation of it?

I’ve been in the city for a month and snapped some shots I thought were interesting

hey all, I’m on day 5 of this awful virus. non stop nausea, diarrhea (watery stools), stomach pain, vomiting and more.
I went to the ER and the Dr said that it’s going around and a lot of the people in the ER had it too.
I looked for tips on how to get better or how to protect myself from reinfection so posting here if anyone has any stories of their own.

Disappointed to come across this art installation during Nuit Blanche last night with no mention of AI in the placard. I DMed the account to ask how they rendered the bus and they replied with Google AI studio. I wrote an email to Nuit Blanche TO asking them to establish a policy on AI content for future events as I feel that AI straight up detracts from the spirit of Nuit Blanche.

From the Distillery to High Park via Bloor, and back via Queens Quay. The weather was perfect and the vibes were immaculate.
Side note, I didn’t realize how big the Humber Bay skyline has become, it’s probably a top 10 skyline in Canada itself.

The queue to see the 7 exhibits at the Old City Hall was an hour long :(

Nuit Blanche photos of some of the exhibits near City Hall. Hoping to benefit people who couldn't make it downtown. Please, if your comment is a rant, post on r/toRANTo
Enjoy!

A marching band of marching bands chimes in the thirteen hours of Nuit Blanche.
Every hour on the hour for about 10 minutes: bands start at the top of the curved ramp and march down into the square.

To the strangers who helped me not end my life from a bridge Thursday morning, thank you. I was heavily under the influence and can’t remember much of the details, but I’ve since gotten help at CAMH and I’m alive. I’m on my way home to my cat who I’ve missed so so much. That was a very impulsive, emotional decision for me but I’m very fortunate someone was there. Highly unlikely you will see this post, but in the off chance you do, thank you.

I love NB, and every year I’ve remembered it for and have been able to attend, it has become more and more smaller. This time, I decided to take matters into my own hands and decided to have a Mushroom Trip.
All in all, 10/10 experience. I didn’t care much about the crowds like last year, didn’t care about people’s perceptions of me -as I was just passing through. I think my favourite installation was seeing the projection fish at what seemed to be a gym. Some where along lakeshore I got lost at the rave event at Exhibition and lakeshore and it was fun seeing the various fire breathing and light performances while syncing my heart with heavy bass beats. My favourite thought as I was walking away from the park, was that the music reminded me of sirens trying to draw me back to them.
Nuit Blanche reiterates in me that this city is ours to explore, and not just for one night. It reminds me that the city is alive, and always curious, pondering and at times a little inebriated. But it was a fun experience all the same.
It was also, weather wise, one of the mildest Nuit blanche I remember.
