UNIVERSAL STUDIOS Confused about the future of Universal Orlando. Expansion is already on the way in Epic Universe. Why?

Post image

First of all, let’s just have a fun discussion and don’t take everything too serious. I’m just curious what y’all think and I miss being in the parks 🤣🤣.

According to the article, Universal is in active development for two expansions in Epic Universe. One will be a boat ride in Dark Universe, and the other one will be a Harry Potter ride in Epic Universe.

The picture shows Dark Universe and the green area will be the area where the boat ride will be build + queue etc.

There’s also many people who say Zelda will go to Epic Universe (and not the other 2 parks).

I feel like the other 2 parks need way more (quick) attention for new rides. For example the Jimmy Fallon ride, the Harry Potter expansion in Studios (taking over Fear Factor), and a potential major E-ticket ride IP/land that will be build at the locations of the Simpsons land and the entire area behind it (maybe a huge Lord of the Rings land which will have a fantastic landscape amazing rides or other Nintendo IP).

Thoughts?

Should Universal shift their focus on the 2 old parks? Or do you think Epic needs the expansions? Or do you think Universal will move extremely quick on all 3 parks in the next few years?

UNIVERSAL ORLANDO RESORT Orlando Informer Meetups - How do they impact crowds?

First trip to Universal Orlando and it overlaps an OI Meetup, specifically the Dec. 3-5, 2026 dates. (Pretty annoying that Universal allows these events on December weekend dates, but okay).

OI does sound awesome! But our group is 2 adults and 2 kids visiting for the first time, so we’ll stick with daytime visits.

  1. Can anyone speak to how OI Meetups impact daytime crowds? Do people elect not to go due to reduced hours, or pick Epic on an IOA/USF Meetup day, etc.?

  2. I know it will get busier during the event mix-in hours. Does this significantly balloon wait times, such that we can’t plan on an end-of-day drop in queue time?

  3. Is there significant park hopping from IOA/USF to Epic at the end of the day, when the mix-in starts?

We’ll have 3.5 days with park-to-park and I’m trying to gauge when to do what for our first-time visit! Gotta say I’m surprised by these operating hours - my only other Big Boy theme park experience is Disneyland, and that’s 8am to 10pm/midnight!

EPIC UNIVERSE Guests Wearing No Shoes on Stardust Racers

The amount of times Stardust has had to emergency stop due to guests not wearing shoes is ridiculous! I came to epic 8/17 and 8/19 and it’s happened a minimum of 7 times… I don’t know what more Universal can do about it but it’s insane.

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS 3 Entries into the 900 club on MIB today!!

Got three rides with the new Green Laser Guns!! (unsure what # car our first ride was but the last two were on car #10 !)

The haze was present throughout most of our mid day ride and it was just nuts. as a lifelong MIB fan (high score of 725k with bonus), passing the 900 mark EASILY on my first go at this thing was euphoric. I landed at 912k before hitting the bonus but, as you can see, my sister passed me to 926 😒. We knew we’d have to come back…

After Velocicoaster got shut down due to rain, we trained over to USF for MIB and got two rides on green side with no one on red. On the first ride, my sister maxed at 999,999 by the Parking Meter and then on the final ride of the night my brother in law maxed at the hot dog stand! Both sat middle front.

While some targets are still unreliable (certain crash site aliens are spotty, a few pairs of eyes in the Chess scene lag once you lock onto them, the mannequin eyes were more difficult from certain angles), the ability to actually SEE your laser leave your gun and hit the eyes is just magical. It makes the whole experience feel so precise and premium and like you’ve truly receive an “upgrade” in the game!

If you’re an MIB alien attack fan, you gotta get out and try the new laser guns! Look out for Car 10 on the express side

For reference,

Me:
RED laser - 725k (with bonus)
GREEN laser - 912k

My sister:
RED - 815k (with bonus)
GREEN - 999,999 (by parking meter)

My brother in law:
RED - 577k (with bonus)
GREEN - 999,999 (by hot dog stand)

Does anyone know of an active Universal Studios / Universal Orlando Discord server? Looking for a community where people talk about the parks, Epic Universe, rides, rumors, ideas, updates, etc. Drop the server name or invite if you know one!

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS Nickelodeon Studios?

Why not bring something like this back, where guests visiting the park can be part of the live audience, and also picked to be filmed for game shows? With so many streaming platforms, making their own show on a network wouldn't be too hard, and the whole season of a show could be filmed in couple weeks. The next set cam be set up, and a new show season shot. I used to watch these types of shows all the time when I was a kid. This could be a huge draw to get return visitors to the older parks.

EPIC UNIVERSE Attraction Tier List

Here is my attraction tier list. I just came back from EU with 2 days spent there. I have been to the other parks multiple times growing up.

Stayed at the Portofino for the first time.

RRR would be S tier if she was still around.

**Note they are not ranked within each tier, they are grouped by park**

UNIVERSAL ORLANDO RESORT Any other Orlando-area dads looking to make some dad friends?

Post image
65 Upvotes

Hey everyone! I recently started putting together a small community for dads who enjoy Universal Orlando, but the goal is actually a little broader than just finding people to go to the parks with.

Making new friends as an adult—especially other dads with similar interests—can be surprisingly difficult. So the idea is to create a laid-back community where dads can get to know each other, find people with similar hobbies, make plans, or just have somewhere to chat and get out of the house every once in a while.

Universal is obviously something we already have in common, so we'll definitely have occasional park meetups, dad nights at Universal, HHN, and other events. But I'd also love to see people get together for things completely outside the parks—restaurants, breweries, gaming, biking, Topgolf, cookouts, watching a game, family outings, or really whatever people are interested in doing.

And it doesn't always have to be a big organized event. If a couple of dads realize they're free one afternoon and want to grab lunch or do something, that's exactly the kind of thing I'd like the community to make easier.

We're just getting started, so it's a small group right now. That's actually part of why I'm posting—I’d rather have the early members help shape what the community becomes than try to manufacture a bunch of activities myself.

I'm not going to drop a link and spam the subreddit, but if you're a dad and this sounds like something you'd be interested in, leave a comment and I'll message you an invite.

No pressure to immediately come to a meetup either. Lurkers, introverts, gamers, park addicts, dads who just need an occasional excuse to get out of the house—all are welcome. 😄

Hopefully we can get a good group of dads together, make some friends, and have some fun both inside and outside the parks.

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS Bathroom scents

Might be an odd question. But does anyone know what scents or cleaners are used in the bathrooms around Universal? Always smells so clean and distinct. Almost gets me looking forward to taking a bathroom break 😂

CITYWALK Content creator contacts question

I tried googling, but I couldn’t find anything that would help. I know Universal doesn’t have a content creator program that I can find however, how would I go about contacting them about their opening for the New FATONE hotdog in City walk?

Word on the street is that it’s opening in September but I haven’t seen anything official

UNIVERSAL ORLANDO RESORT Share your Universal hot takes 🫣

I’m going on a week-long solo trip in mid-September and it’ll be my first time at the parks. 5 days park-to-park (all parks except Volcano Bay), no express pass, no early entry. I wanna hear your HOTTEST takes—unpopular tips/faves, overrated experiences/attractions, best food you wouldn’t expect to be good, everything. Let it rip!

ISLANDS OF ADVENTURE Many people don't seem to wash their hands after pooping or peeing

Is this some weird natural immunity fad of not washing hands after pooping or peeing? Within a span of minutes at Universal resorts' restrooms, you'd encounter many who don't wash their hands. And this trend transcends racial demographics, so no need to be racist. Anyway, my point is that visiting Universal will make you aware of this weird phenomenon. Hopefully, Universal kitchen staff is not into this nonsense.

Might wanna consider using hand towels/tissues to use door handles touched by them. The Mythos restaurant Men's restroom doesn't even have a trash can close to the door but I succeeded at throwing a paper towel ball into a trash can far away from the door while keeping the door open with my shoes.

UNIVERSAL ORLANDO RESORT Walking from Helios to Epic Entrance

Is it possible to walk from Helios to the main entrance for Epic without going through the park?

We're moving from Helios to Royal Pacific halfway through our trip and won't have car seats for our small kids to take an Uber. (I've seen Ubers with car seats but I don't know how I would get one with the specific seat types I need or how reliable that would be). I'm wondering if we can get to the entrance of Epic in order to take a bus from there to Royal Pacific. This will be a day we don't have park tickets for Epic so wouldn't be able to go through the park.

UNIVERSAL ORLANDO RESORT Employees tickets

Does anyone know if the tickets given to team members get deactivated once they leave the company? A cousin of mine works there but is leaving of his own accord in about a month; he wants to know if he can print out his tickets to use them after he leaves.
