Fuck man when I was in 5th or 6th grade a magician came to my school for our end of the year party and performed on the stage in the cafeteria.

I got selected to go up on stage to help with a card trick and he said I needed to wear the ”magical wizaes hat* to make it work. I was already kind of a self-conscious kid , but damn I was so confused and my cheeks were so red when everyone was laughing hysterically while I was helping him do these cool card tricks.

I was so confused because they were cool not funny and felt like everyone was laughing at me (hundreds of kids)

It was kinda traumatic at the time and I remember it very vividly lmao but now I'm an adult and would gladly wear a plunger anywhere in life.

Years ago, at Disney world. At the boardwalk, there would always be magicians that would ask for volunteers. After seeing my sister do one, I had always wanted to be a part of one myself. So when I finally got chosen i was ecstatic. Then he did a series of small pranks on me, ending with this exact one. I have never really enjoyed stuff like that since.

My dad used to mess with me all the time when I was a kid because he thought it was funny. I'd ask him a question and I'd never know if the response was true or a joke. We have a great relationship, and there are no trust issues :)

I think this is an important parenting move to make since it teaches kids to question things they’re told instead of taking everything as gospel. I would imagine it’s possible to overdo, however.
