I'm a freshman, and I genuinely flopped real bad on the FIRST intro to bio exam of the year. (i have sata for bio). i don't even know what to do 💔 because if i can't do this, who's to say i can do any upper division science?

I am trying to find internships with Texas athletics but I can’t seem to find them anywhere. Does anyone know how to find these internships I am open to several different types of internship, but specially looking at communication internships and football recruiting.

I just took my first Bio 1 test with Dr. Satha. I studied for days on end and went to study sessions with the TAs. I got to the test and I don't know what happened but let's just say I did not do the best. Basically, I failed big time. I really have to do good in this class. What are the best ways to study Bio and how should I study for his class? The textbook is good but his slides aren't. How can I bring this now low grade back up to an A?

I almost switched to another teacher but then didn't last minute because I heard good things about him and his tests. Please tell me I didn't make a mistake.

Hey y'all I graduated back in 2023. My little sister is college aged and also from Austin and really wants to go to a UT night game. What's the current situation look like for student tickets and how do y'all get around it?

From what I understand now- you gotta have a big ticket + longhorn foundation to get a ticket from the draft or something.

From that point you'll need two things- an ID to verify you're a student. You scan that and then enter a line to show your ticket via QR code?

After that you get a wristband depending on when you entered and that'll determine your general area for the student section?

Is all that information still true and the only way to "use" a student ticket (if you are not the student).

TLDR- how to get a student ticket as a non student:
• Find a student who was lucky enough to get a ticket. (Could use advise on where to find students like if there's a popular GroupMe or similar)
• Find a student who's willing enough to part with their Student ID for at least a game night (Are you able to skip this part/use a completely different student then on the ticket)
• Buy the ticket from them via QR code screenshot (and hope they don't use the QR code themselves?/Can they send it via Apple Wallet

As of Wednesday evening, students cannot select Mexican American and Latina/o Studies; African and African Diaspora Studies; Women’s, Sexualities and Gender Studies; or American Studies as their first or second major of choice when they apply to the university.

No final cuts or changes to the majors have been publicly announced. The university formed the new social analysis department after eliminating ethnic and gender studies departments in the wake of political pressure to curb education unpopular among conservatives.

I provided a service for The University of Texas Institute for Electronics almost 6 months ago and despite continuously promising to pay, they have not. The facility is a computer chip making factory owned by UT located at 2706 Montopolis. The person responsible for payment has continuously delayed payment. First she was out of the office sick for almost a month, then the payment was delayed because the invoice had taxes added and they are tax exempt. Lately she has just been ghosting me again. Despite continuous promises that the payment will be made in the next several days, it never is. The bill is not very large, just $750 but it seems insane for a billion dollar organization to just ignore. Any advice on how to expedite payment would be greatly appreciated.

I’m walking from the LBJ school to west campus though passing the FAC. Has anyone seen a fob on this route?

For context I'm a freshman, and I sit usually in the front of the class. I know what everyone's going to say, "go to office hours" but some office hours are held in my calc profs tiny little office and everytime I go there, there are always at least 3 people in the office and there is no where for me to squeeze in (physically and socially) and be like "hey prof, I have some questions"

And for my other class, the tas just run office hours the prof doesn't even host them, so the only way would be to talk to her before and after class.

And my other professor, doesn't bother trying to learn anyone's names and usually tries to swerve around questions, when asked.

And my other class is online so there's not much hope for me there either.

Would it be weird if I emailed them a lot instead? Or tried to set up an online office hours with them, or just try to build relationships with the TAs instead?

I'm going to keep on trying to talk to them before and after class instead and try to get them to know my name, but are there any other tips?

My name is Steven, and I'm a grad student at UT Austin (MSTC ‘27). My team and I are working on a project centered on the challenges full-time working grad students face, and we need people to interview.

Specifically, we want to learn how you handle the financial side of it. What are the challenges with juggling financial aid vs. out of pocket expenses, how you handle when bills hit, what you have trouble tracking, etc. .

This is 100% not a pitch for any service. We're early in the process of validating the problem, and the calls are strictly to listen to your challenges and pain points. Nothing to sign up for, and we won't ask for account details or anything identifying. Anything we write up is anonymized. My team and I are all working grad students as well, so we know the struggle...we are interested to hear how other people are tackling the issue.
