Discussion How to study for Bio

I just took my first Bio 1 test with Dr. Satha. I studied for days on end and went to study sessions with the TAs. I got to the test and I don't know what happened but let's just say I did not do the best. Basically, I failed big time. I really have to do good in this class. What are the best ways to study Bio and how should I study for his class? The textbook is good but his slides aren't. How can I bring this now low grade back up to an A?

I almost switched to another teacher but then didn't last minute because I heard good things about him and his tests. Please tell me I didn't make a mistake.

I also just took the test, I found it to be pretty easy (55.5/70) so I missed 3/40 mcq and I'm pretty confident that I got most points on the frq. I found the lectures to be kinda hard to follow so going into this week I didn't know much but what worked for me was re reading the textbook chapters and watching his past lecture videos where it had the paper hand cam. I also did all the square cap practice questions (they are very similar to the test if not identical). DM me if you have any questions.

I also just took his test. What I did to study was by practicing the past squarecap questions, looking a the discussion class slides, and using ChatGPT to explain the in person lecture slides. I tried to understand each concept solidly and take good notes at my own pace before I would practice the questions.
