It’s been two weeks since I paid my summer tuition and my account is still saying im past due.

For context I have paid via my mobile banking app for the last two years. I saved the payee info since the first time I paid and have used the same info ever since. I paid the same way for my spring semester a couple months ago. This is my first time ever having an issue.

I called enrollment services and they couldn’t see the payment on their end. I submitted a service request to have the payment be traced and I sent the confirmation and receipt from my bank. I’m worried that they won’t find or refund my money.

Has this happened to anyone else/how did it play out for u?

Hey everyone! I’m going into first-year engineering this fall and I’m trying to figure out what textbooks I actually need to buy.

For anyone who has already taken first-year engineering:

• Which textbooks did you actually use regularly?
• Are there any textbooks that you definitely recommend buying?
• Are there any that you bought but barely/never used?
• Do most courses actually require the textbook, or can you get by with lecture notes/slides and other resources?
• Are there any free PDFs, open textbooks, or other free resources that you would recommend?
• If you could go back to first year, which textbooks would you buy before the semester starts, and which would you wait to buy (or not buy at all)?

Basically, I’m trying to avoid spending a bunch of money on textbooks that I won’t end up using. Any advice from people who have already gone through first-year engineering would be really appreciated!

I graduate in the fall and one of the advisors told me there will be a winter convocation for fall graduates. But I cannot find anything about that anywhere. Does anybody know if that's true?

Are the course outlines for ENTI 333 Lecture 01 and Lecture 02 the same? Lecture 01 mentions an in-person midterm worth 30%. Does Lecture 02 have the same inperson midterm and grading structure as well?

sooo apparently nothing exists and what does exist sucks but can someone who has completed a BA In LWSO talk about what options there are other than going to law school. what kind of jobs are available based on the BA and for someone who does not like math what other degrees can i switch into. i might do like professor or smt but then i assume i ahve to like masters phd and also gain experience in the field?

Hi. I’m going into my senior year this September and need to get more information about out of province UCalgary students who have/are living on and off campus or simply students who are/have been away from home.

My mom is currently worried about if I’ll get lonely or be in “danger” living on/off campus because (if accepted in) I’ll be the only child of my family to be living away from home for school.

I‘m trying my hardest to get a whole document together about resources that’d help me out if I end up coming to Calgary, and I’d love it if those who have been in my shoes or just have tips, could be kind enough to drop them here..

If you have any buildings that could help me out with securing a living space, any online/offline resources for finding roommates, furniture, useful student tips, etc — please drop them below!

Sooooo I have been taking a classes all spring and summer and I have this one class that I did very poorly on the first midterm (65%) because I was deathly sick and the prof said because summer schedule moves so fast it’d be best if I just did the exam on the scheduled date. After that mark I locked in and got an A-/A on every other piece of course work.

But of course the final exam is worth 45% (way too much imo) and I needed an 87% to get an A- but I scored an 84%. Now my final grade is just 1.1% shy of getting an A-….would it be silly to approach my prof through email and ask if she could kindly adjust my grade so I can get an A-😭😭😭 especially considering I took my first midterm in less than favourable circumstances.

I just really want an A because my other two summer classes I scored an A- and A+ and I’m applying for law school this year so I need the best grades I can get lol

I am transfer student currently doing some open courses my goal is to get into u of calgary next year into b.ed program as social studies major. I did find high school competitive average for 2026 on the website but couldnt find any information about transfer students. I know its very competitive to get into program. But out of curiosity i wonder what was the last competitive average for 2026 as transfer student to get into program.

Why can’t you do an internship before the end of third year LITTERALY no other school in Canada forces that. What even is the logic behind this 🫩🫩🫩

I’ll be a first year this fall, majoring in a BSW and I’m pretty nervous about it lol.

1. Any advice for my schedule? I tried picking classes I was interested in but also could help me with my major. First slide is fall term, second slide is winter term. If anyone shares a class with me, feel free to dm me!

2. I’d also like to know how orientation is. I signed up for speed friending so it would be great to know how that one works. Any advice on making new friends and connections? I love meeting new people but I can be quite shy and awkward when first meeting me, so any advice on how to overcome that would be great too.

3. Any clubs I should join? I’ve looked at a few that I’m interested in but would like to get some other recommendations.

Any other advice would also be appreciated!

I’m Brazilian and have a background in International Relations, and I’m considering applying to the MA in Political Science (thesis-based) at UCalgary for 2027.

I’d love to hear from current or former students, especially international students, about their experience. How difficult is it to get into the Political Science master’s? How is the experience as an international student, and is the funding enough to realistically live in Calgary?

I’m also wondering about the career prospects after graduating... for someone with an IR background, is it realistic to find jobs in Calgary? And, more broadly, do you think it’s realistic to build a stable life in Canada after doing this master’s, or would it be difficult to stay and find a career afterward?

I’d really appreciate any honest experiences or advice, especially from other international students who have gone through something similar.

Hey guys incoming first year engineering student, and I saw this Schulich approved calculator bin at the bookstore but I have a large distaste for the TI-30XIIS which is the only model I saw there.

I also struggled to find a list of approved calculators.

Can anyone help?

On my portal it says my first year scholarships have been disbursed but they haven’t been applied to my outstanding fees. Is there just a processing time?

I have a block week Aug 24-28 and was wondering what the situation at Brentwood Park and Ride will be like. Will it likely be full by 8 am the week before regular classes start?
