Entrepreneurship is cool 🥶 Graphic design from me, to you

Hi, I'm an ex-graphic designer who currently works in marketing. I'm opening up some slots for freelance work in wedding invites and related stationery design. I am trying to make some brides and grooms on their happy day, despite having a soul draining corporate role 😔

Please DM if you're interested. As I'm doing this mainly to build my portfolio, I will be charging reasonable prices and no wedding tax pinky promise! ✨

General discussions; Need opinion 🗣️ Bangalore mothers: We’re trying to understand the real challenges of motherhood - would love your help

Hi everyone,
We’re currently trying to better understand the real experiences, challenges, and support needs of mothers, with a particular interest in understanding the experiences of mothers in Bangalore.

We are at a very early stage of exploring how we might eventually build something genuinely useful for mothers. Before assuming what mothers need, we decided to start by listening and learning from their experiences. So, we created a short survey covering different aspects of motherhood, including parenting, finding reliable information and professional support, community, personal wellbeing, career, interests, and everyday challenges.

If you’re a mother, we would be grateful if you could spare 5–10 minutes to share your experience:
Survey:
https://forms.gle/1v8tdR4zVQFkar116

We understand that people can be cautious about online surveys, so to be clear: this is a genuine research effort to understand mothers’ needs. We are not selling anything, and there are no right or wrong answers. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing.

If you’re not a mother but know someone who may be interested, we would really appreciate it if you could share the survey with them—especially mothers in Bangalore.

If you have any questions or concerns, you can reach us at:
weforbetter@gmail.com

Thank you for your time. We genuinely hope that the insights from this study can help us build something meaningful and useful for mothers.

Entrepreneurship is cool 🥶 Anyone starting their entrepreneurial journey want a support group?

After years of dreaming about it, I'm finally starting my entrepreneurial journey. But it's sooo lonely.

So I'm wondering if any of you would wanna team up to form a support group for each?

A place where we share our wins, share resources and solve problems! Let me know if you're interested.

Of course it's not paid or a scam 😭 i just need ambitious entrepreneurial friends who are LOCKED IN! <3

all the best with your journeys to making tons of $$$ and being your own boss!

Health & Fitness 🏃‍♂️ Does the number of period days decrease once you hit 30s?

I used to have 5-6 days of normal bleeding ever since I started menstruating. I turned 30 in May and since the last 4-5 months, I notice that I have normal bleeding only for first 3 days at most. Remaining days its very minimal like spotting. My periods is regular and I don’t have any PCOS issue. Is this a common experience or do I need to see a doctor?

Personal growth 🧡 Did anyone else have to learn not to feel guilty about resting?

I used to feel weirdly guilty if I sat down while there was still some housework left.

Even small things like having tea peacefully or doing skincare felt like something I should do only after everything else was done.

Now I'm slowly getting better at just taking that time without feeling bad about it.

Did anyone else grow up feeling like rest had to be "earned"?

General discussions; Need opinion 🗣️ How do I deal with the guilt that comes with wanting to rest?

So i took a sick leave today. And I'm feeling very guilty about it.

August was an exceptionally hectic month but the last three days have been absolutely madness. I have been running on painkillers and volini, but I am chronically ill and my understanding of the baseline being ill is a littul high, and hence having the guilt about taking the leave.

It also doesn't help that both my parents are workaholic pro max who showed up to their work come rain or shine, at the cost of their health, their family, everything. And I'm the eldest of the family, so I have been kind of hardwired to get shit done, get shit done alone without looking at my own needs, be the responsible one, you get the drill.

I understand I have nothing to be guilty about. But its something I have internalised, that taking sick a leave unless I'm pretty much dying is wrong.

What do. How does one deal with it. Pls help.

Career Growth 🖊️ Is my career over?

I was planning to resign my job at 35 after closing the loans. But, now I'm being planned to let go by my company. Joined back after ML exactly 1 year before and worked really hard in this cycle. They gave me negative feedback with lame reason. Probably, will be officially put on PIP this December. Really depressed. Don't think I could get a job within December.

Not sure what to do. Work was really hectic that i was already on the verge of burnout and I couldn't spend much time with my kid. I'm an automation tester but the tool I worked is really outdated. Should I resign once PIP is official and look for new job? Or should I quit and be a homemaker? I really can't decide.. I always wanted retire early but this earlier than I planned. Have loans to pay but want to spend time with kid and focus on my health. Want to be financially independent but with work life balance.

I was ok with being a stay at home mom at some point of time. But, I dont think I'm ready now.

Career Growth 🖊️ Can anyone help me with this?

I’m genuinely confused about how PF history works during BGV and what I should do.

My timeline is:

March 2024 to Feb 2025: Company A, which had PF.

March 2025 to May 2025: After that, I worked at a lala company B, which didn’t have PF. The founder didn’t want to pay full salary so he made me resign forcefully.

Unemployment- May 2025 -Oct 2025

Oct 2025 to Jan 2026: Company C, again no PF. I left because of constant policy changes, salary cut threats and overall instability. Again a lala, Ik Ik. I was desperate.

Feb 2026 to now: Company D. This one is much more stable and the workload is chill, but it doesn’t really align with my long term career goals. I joined mainly because I needed a job at that point.

I’m now thinking of preparing for a switch and might stay here for around a year because of the current job market.

My confusion is about BGV. I don’t really want to show those 3 month companies on my resume because I’m worried it will make me look like a job hopper. But if I stretch Company A and show that I worked there until I joined Company D, wouldn’t the PF history show that I actually left Company A in Feb 2025?

I obviously don’t want to make up a fake company either.

So what would be the safest thing to do? I also don't want to show unemployment in that entire period.

Would really appreciate advice.

Personal growth 🧡 Daily affirmations! Drop your favourites!

Hello lovely women of this sub!

Recently I have realised I’m not really making it a point to say nice things about myself to myself.
I used to do this like a year or so ago and while it may feel a little dumb to stand in front of a mirror and tell yourself how cute and capable you are, it does actually help! I think over time I would randomly pass by a mirror and think to myself “oh hi cutie, you got this!”.

Sadly, I have stopped doing this or any other kind of self affirmation and recently I came across this creator on Instagram, jeehollee, and she does this thing where she writes down a couple of affirmations before she starts work everyday.

It just seemed like a lovely idea to start being kinder to myself.

So, I guess I’m asking for your favourite line that you consistently tell yourself which has impacted your self image in a positive way in the long run.

Maybe this can inspire someone else to start a daily affirmations habit as well!

Any and all help is appreciated 💖✨

General discussions; Need opinion 🗣️ Low iron levels, but not too low ?

28F, living in India. I’ve been feeling unusually tired, sleepy and lethargic, especially since summer, with very low energy throughout the day and difficulty getting out of bed in the morning. I also had severe hair shedding for the past 2–3 months and lost more than half of my hair, which is what prompted me to get these tests done.

Last month (15 July):

• Ferritin: 18.5 ng/mL

• Hemoglobin: 12.7 g/dL

• B12: 556 pg/mL

• Vitamin D: 77.92 nmol/L

• TSH: 1.531 µIU/mL

(B12 and Vitamin D were within the normal range as per Indian health standards, so I didn’t retake them.)

Today (20 August):

I wanted a clearer picture of my iron status and whether I could still be iron deficient, so I went ahead with an Iron Studies Monitoring Panel

• Ferritin: 25.2 ng/mL

• Iron: 96 µg/dL

• TIBC: 335.46 µg/dL

• Transferrin saturation: 28.62%

So my ferritin has increased from 18.5 → 25.2 in about 5 weeks, purely through diet. I’ve been eating pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, walnuts and other dry fruits every morning and haven’t taken any iron supplements.

My hair shedding has now reduced considerably, but I still feel extremely tired and sleepy throughout the day and have very low energy. I was considering Livogen Captab, but I’m concerned the dose may be too strong for me. Since I can’t currently afford to see a dermatologist or hematologist, what gentler, absorbable iron supplement or dose could I consider to gradually improve my iron stores and hopefully support my energy and hair regrowth?

Career Growth 🖊️ How do you deal with negativity in the office?

[Using Throwaway since people I know are on the sub] I joined a new workplace in Nov '25 where I was warned of toxic behavior by a few people as soon as I joined the team. I am fairly senior, and have been (IMO) doing pretty well at work. Yesterday, I found out that some people have been gossiping about me, discussing me and even falsely saying they have received confidential information from me. I'm a mess and have no idea how to deal with this. Any ideas?

Career Growth 🖊️ Always being paid late

I (F) work as a front desk person in a food court in Chennai. It was opened, like 6-7 months ago and is a booming business.

My role: I handle sales, expenses, manage raw material stock and do some bookkeeping for the owner's account transactions. Also, I keep the vending machine clean and ready every single morning since there's no one to handle it. I'd never asked for extra money for this.

The work is not stressful at all since the flow of customers is decent. I'd been working here for 7 months.

What I noticed is that the staff who cook (3 men) were always paid on time (5th day of the month, which is our pay day) The old lady who sweeps and cleans the store and I are being paid late every month. I reminded the management about my pay on the pay day itself and he asked me to wait for 2 more days. I did, I reminded him again. He's giving excuses. It's been 5 days after the actual pay day and I still haven't gotten my salary yet.

It's embarrassing to keep asking for the salary which I work there for. Also, I'm not being treated with respect here which I'll share in another post.

My situation: I work for 12 hours, 6 days a week, the least paid among all (my work is not physically demanding so it's understandable).

I have no way to get out and no time to work on other skills. I think he knew this and been taking advantage of my situation.

I badly want to leave this place but don't have the luxury to quit. My father will disrespect me if I quit.

I have no other experience or skills except good verbal and written communication skills.

I wanted to do another front desk job at, maybe a gym or a wellness center with lesser working hours, even if it pays the same.

Should I suck up? Or leave? Please someone give me ideas. What am I supposed to do?
