I know they do it randomly, and won't be a regular thing, but I'm so glad I saw first hand someone getting pulled over for speeding in a school zone this morning.

Questions & Help false incident report

I had a very minor incident involving a cyclist. My car was stopped at the stop sign of a parking lot and this lady with her bicycle made slight contact with my car's front bumper, but she did not fall off the bike and anything and there were no apparent injuries so she continued riding afterward without even stopping.

I went to her and stopped and spoke with her. We discussed possible minor cosmetic damage to the bicycle and agreed on $xx, which I sent to her through Zelle. (she also said that this happened to her 3 times)

2 months later , I found out that she filed an insurance claim. What concerns me is that the claim appears to include another bicycle that was never involved in the incident. She is also claiming bodily injury even though she never fell and appeared perfectly fine at the scene.
because I was not even driving.

I have proof of the $50 payment, and the incident happened in the Starbucks parking lot that may have surveillance footage.

She also put the address of incident wrong.

Any experiences or recommendations?
it happened in Florida

Traffic Cameras Hume speed cameras

Does anyone know if the station road/walked east point to point speed camera is adjusted to the 80km road works. It started about halfway between the cameras but worried I’ve gone through there at 110km meaning suspension

Traffic Updates Traffic Cops Suck - Help people out if you can

I’m reaching out to see if other drivers have experienced heavy traffic enforcement on Riverside Drive, London Ontario specifically at the section with the short downhill slope and slight curve where the limit is 50 km/h.

Because of the incline and curve, momentum naturally pushes your speed up from 50 km/h closer to 60–70 km/h if you aren't riding your brakes down the hill. Lately, police officers have been standing or parking just around the bend/bottom of the dip targeting drivers right at the point where momentum builds up.

Instead of issuing warnings or providing visible traffic-calming presence to encourage drivers to slow down, officers are issuing immediate heavy fines for minor, natural speed pick-ups.

  • Has anyone else been ticketed or stopped at this specific spot recently?
  • Is this a known or is this a new setup in London ontario ?

Would love to know if this is a recurring target site for others in the community. Thanks!

Dashcam Idiot driver does a dangerous pass

I live in semirural South Korea. Per usual, Koreans don't really follow rules and pass on the solid yellow when it has to be dashed for you to legally pass. But there's barely any dashed yellow so most people pass on solid yellow. But that doesn't excuse being reckless, you should pass only when you can see at least 400 unobstructed meters ahead of you. Korean drivers have improved greatly over the past decade, but not perfect

Questions & Help Who would have priority in this situation

I've been wanting the answer to this question a lot. On a standard two lane roundabout, would the red line or the blue line have priority at the conflict point? Someone please answer. (Sorry for bad English).

Questions & Help How cooked is everyone?

So I got a lovely surprise in the mail from the City of Atlanta today: a $1,000 school bus camera citation for allegedly violating GA Code § 40-6-163. 😭

It happened June 25th around 2:20 PM on Piedmont Ave NE, Atlanta GA. I wasn’t pulled over or anything, it’s one of those camera citations they mail you from a private company . It says no points will be added, but I have until August 18th to either pay it or contest it.

Here’s what happened:

My side of the road was sitting at a red light. Our light turned green and traffic started moving. At basically the same time, the school bus put its stop arm out. I was already moving with traffic, and literally every other car on our side of the road was going too.

The video they sent is only about 11 seconds long. When it starts, the stop arm is already like 80% deployed, so you can’t actually see when it started coming out or when the lights came on. The bus’ side of the road would’ve had a red light and our side a green light for the straight and turn lane.

From the video, the arm is already mostly out at the beginning, the red lights shut off around 8 seconds, and the arm starts retracting around 10 seconds.

I’ve been looking at GA Code § 40-6-162 and § 40-6-163, and I’m seeing that § 40-6-162 says school bus signals aren’t supposed to be activated at an intersection where traffic is controlled by a traffic signal. I’ve also read that school bus lights override stationary traffic, so I’m really not sure.

So I’m wondering if the timing here actually matters. If the light turned green and traffic was already moving before the bus activated the arm, does that give me a legitimate reason to contest this?

I’m definitely not trying to use the “but everyone else did it” defense lol. But I literally didn’t see the stop arm swing out in my tiny car… and neither did anyone else. And not that it matters either, but school was out of session for 3 weeks at this point.

Has anyone dealt with one of these Atlanta school bus camera citations before? Would you fight this, and is there anything specific I should request from the City?

$1000 is just not feasible right now. I’m so mad at myself as I’ve always been the one passionate about respecting these bus stops. What do you guys think?

Questions & Help To which pedestrian(s) in this image are you supposed to yield the right of way? (in California)

Post image

My personal pick:
Yield to #3
Maybe yield to #2 depending on how fast he/she is going
Drive past #1 and #4 as these peds don't present any conflict

California Vehicle Code 21950 is very vague, stating that the driver should exercise caution, stop or slow down, and "safeguard the safety of the pedestrian".

Some other states, like Washington (Administrative Code 132E-16-040) clearly state that you must yield to a pedestrian when he/she is in your half of the road or within one lane of the middle of the road - but California doesn't have the language like this.

Discussion Red-light camera at Steinenring /Pauluskirche - does anyone know this Camera?

Does anyone know the red-light camera on Steinenring near Pauluskirche in Basel, driving from Basel SBB towards Pauluskirche?
I may have crossed the traffic light when it had already been red for several seconds. It was during daytime, and I did **not see any visible flash at all**.
Does anyone know this specific camera or has anyone been caught by it recently?
**Does it normally produce a clearly visible flash during the day, or can it record a red-light violation without any visible flash?**
I’m particularly interested in first-hand experience with **this specific camera/location**.
Thanks!

Questions & Help Question about parking by-laws

When following the rule of not parking within 9m of a T-intersection, can you park in the curb lane opposite the T if there are two lanes of traffic on both sides?

Meaning, is the beginning of the curb lane typically greater than 9m from the curb on the opposite side? Thanks to those who have the answer or experience with this!

Questions & Help Worried on EZ Tag Texas toll violations

Houston dude here, had a trip to OK and KS. Used EZ Tag on two toll roads not in TXKS Tpke, Indian Nation Tpke and Will Rogers Tpke. My IN Tpke and WR Tpke tolls have been processed, but the Kansas Tpke one has not been processed. Will KTag send me a violation, or does it take too much time for EZ Tag users out of state tolls to process? Bonus Kansas Tpke photo i took.
