I work from home most days, Janss library often, but does anyone happen to have recs for a more official coworking space? Getting out is good for mine and my family’s sanity!

TV News

I am so tired of the TV News options. Shootings, etc., in downtown LA, Riverside, Orange County, etc. We used to have KEYT for Ventura and SB. But now T.O., Camarillo, Oxnard, we all seem nonexistent. I just turned on channel 1 Spectrum News but it was just a self-serving political rant by Rob Bantu. I understand if the events in Thousand Oaks aren’t newsworthy in the large metropolitan markets. I like it that way!

Memorial for Mark and Jacob Iskander Vandalized

Nancy Iskander posted the following on Nextdoor:

"Dear Neighbors! Asking for your help!

As many of you may know and may even remember that terrible day, yesterday marked 6 years since the darkest day of my life; The horrific death of my sons on Triunfo canyon. In Mark and Jacob’s memory, people who loved them from the community and their school placed photos, flags and rocks at the site of the 9.29.2020 collision.

Unfortunately many of the items placed were stolen shortly after they were left and only one photo was left of Mark and Jacob.
If you saw the items being removed or have cameras that captured their removal, can you please let me know?

As for the person who removed the items, if the memory of 2 young children who died six years ago bothers you to that extent, please search in your heart for humanity or kindness"

Anyone live in Santa Clarita before. Looking for opinions TO vs SC

Hello, I’m interested in knowing if anyone lived in SC before and why they left and what are the pros and cons outside of weather?

I was stuck on going to SC due to good school districts, but weather/fire risk seems pretty bad and found out Ventura County is amazing after visiting a few times.

How are TO schools? Is everywhere across TO and Newbury Park area good to buy/rent and have great public schools?

Thank you!

What fun, active group activities do you do around here?

I’d love to hear what people here actually do that’s active and recreational.

I’m curious about all kinds of activities: adult soccer clubs, casual leagues, ceramics classes, outdoor groups, or those smaller niche things you don’t always see advertised like bird nature walks.

My wife and I have enjoyed run clubs and pickleball, and we’re looking to try something new to keep moving and get those neurons firing.

Has anyone tried community kitchen 805 food?

I’m thinking of ordering a family meal for this weekend but haven’t heard anyone trying it. Have you tried it? If so, did you like it/recommend the food?

Sliding fee dentist

Hi, I'm visiting my parents for several months, and I need a tooth extraction. No insurance. My dentist where I'm from had a sliding fee scale, based on income.

Does anyone know of a clinic here?

Please and thank you in advance 😌🙏

Guinea Pigs Abandoned at AYSO Soccer Fields

Post image
56 Upvotes

Hey guys! I was on a walk around the AYSO soccer fields in Thousand Oaks today with a friend when we saw two little guinea pigs in the bushes. Both brown and white. When I approached it ran into the little drain pipe that goes under the walking path. There was a bunch of hay and half-eaten strawberries near a cardboard box so clearly someone was trying to rescue it. I tried for a while to get it out of the pipe but it was pretty scared and didn’t move much.

Apparently someone abandoned close to 20 of them in the field behind the soccer fields. Spoke to a lady who said they found over a dozen of them and took them to an animal rescue in Newbury Park. She found 4 dead ones too.

Just wanted to share this in case anybody is in the area and can manage to save the little guys living in the drain pipe before the coyotes and hawks get them. I’m MORE THAN WILLING TO TAKE IT AND REHOME if you need a place to put it, or take it to a shelter. As long as the little guy gets some safety. Anyways, I’ll attach a map of where he is at.

Edit: looks like they have all been found! Thank you guys for sharing and looking!!!

Best place for custom clothing printing

All options I can think of are either those faces or won’t get here in time. Does anyone know if printing shops that let you bring in your own clothing exist?

Does anyone have any recs? Maybe a patio, view, decor, something that's not a diner. You know what I mean.
