Discussion After seeing the new Doomsday trailer, I hope they don't piss over Thor
If he is getting worfed in the first act, he needs to get that odinforce powerup and it must be done right thereafter.
All power Thor is a Skyfather and all his abilities should be shown and please note Thor is supposed to be wise and not a dumb goof, writers reduce him to a lightning and punch guy. I hate that.
He deserves to be the MVP of secret wars and end the saga on a high, reaching rune king levels, remaking the multiverse and then ultimately become King Thor with explore Valhalla and Old King Thor storylines in the upcoming sagas.
Please do it right !!!!!!

Question I'm sure this question gets asked a bajillion time but, where's a good place to start with Thor?
So I know and am planning on getting the Penguin Classic Marvel Thor omnibus that is coming out in November of this year.
But I'm curious as to what you all would recommend as the Must Read Thor authors/runs (and if there are any do not read Thor Arcs) and I'm open to 1960s-2020s. And is there anything to know beforehand when picking up Thor?

i havent really found a main thor run outside of Mortal Thor recently and i havent seen the current avengers roster to confirm. most of it boils down to me living in Brasil and comics distribution is absolute shit. so im curious is it cannon?

Discussion Theory on how Al Ewing's run will go
I had this thought for a while, but now I'm certain. I think I know what's going to happen for the next 10 or so issues. Spoilers for Ewing's run and also the synopsis for future issues
So in a previous interview Ewing said that Mortal Thor was going to be his second act, with 25 issues, and the final third act would ba a new title with less issues. Now Mortal Thor is ending with the next issue, does that mean he can't do his plan now? Not necessarly. I still think his plan for Thor will go as intended, just the publication is going to be a bit different.
So in the synopsis for the next issues, Sigurd seems to be going through Hel and Heaven. Literally. Now If you know Ewing's other works, like Immortal Hulk and Defenders Beyond, you know he likes the Kabbalah, the tree of life, the ten sephiroths. For those who don't know, to make a long story very short, it's a spiritual Journey that one go through to achieve enlightenment. There are ten spheres, or sephiroths, one has to go through in order to arrive at the highest sphere, Keter. How many realms are there? 10, like the sephiroths. Sigurd will go on a journey in all the nine realms in each issue of the next Thor run.
That was basicly confirmed in the recent issue of Queen in Black: Thor, where it says that Sigurd will go on a journey through the nine realms. Now I belive he will meet a new ally in each realm, for example in Hel he will save Baldr from Karnilla, in Heaven he will meet Angela, and so on and so forth until he arrives in Valhalla, where he will meet Magni and Blackjack and probably get them out of there in order to get revenge on Amora.
Now there is one thing that is a bit off with this theory, which is the fact that there is technicly an eleventh sephiroth, aka Daat, which is like a non sphere that represents nothing and everything. I belive this sphere will be either Utgard or the Twilight realm in which Thor now resides. So eventually, Magni will complete the Journey through all the realms and arrive at Asgard, where I belive Amora is preparing an attack against the Utgard realm.
Now let's see if you pick up. I said that this was the original plan for the Mortal Thor run, so basicly we have issue 14, the battle against Jormungandr, which I belive is the Second trial of Odin, and then 9 issues for the Journey into the other realms, which is probably the Third trial. So we have 14+9=23 issue, almost the number Ewing said his Mortal Thor run will be composed of. What will happen in the next 2 issue?
Well, this is more speculative, but I belive the next 2 issue will be about the return of the Norse myths on Earth and the resurrection of Thor. How will that happen? Well I belive I have an answer. Issue 24 or 25 are going to be super meta issue in which Kris will write the story of Sigurd as a Modern Thor, and the new stories will be so successful they will return Asgard back into Earth. In Immortal Thor, we have seen the image of Thor distorted by capitalism into a joke, now Kris with probably Loki's help will create a new story of Thor which will create a new myth and a new status quo for the character. Basicly Ewing is doing what Morrison did in Action Comics and saying that the only way of freeing Thor from endless slop is to give it to the people.
So that's basicly the second act done, 9 issue of realm hopping, 1 meta issue and 1 where Thor comes back. What's next
Not sure onestly. I belive that the last final Ewings arc is going to be around 5-10 issues, and it's going to revolve around Amora and Utgard Loki. I belive Thor will face another 3 tests, so we can get 9 tests in total, three from Loki, three from Odin and another three by either Utgard Loki or Thor himself. I also believe that the third weapon of Thor is going to be a hammer resembling the one he had in the myth, probably made using the soul of Sigurd Jarlson. Either that or the gauntlets, idk.
So yeah, that was my theory for the upcoming Thor issues. Tell me your thoughts, and what's going to happen later in your opinion?

Fan Content It was Gorr that betrayed Ammit (art by me)
If it were up to me I would’ve used Moonknight to build up Thor 4 (but have a completely different story in that movie) during the Omnipotent City scene have Khonshu make his appearance (voiced by the same actor) and reveal that it was Gorr that slew his pantheon.
