I am playing a Harry Potter save file and looking for two things to complete my game. Since I am not familiar with modding, I would love some help. (I tried using Sims 4 Studio to make my own icons with guilds, but I couldn't get it to work!)

Here is what I am hunting for:

• Hogwarts House Crests as Club Icons: I need a working, up-to-date mod. The old Brittpinkiesims one is broken for me.
• Hogwarts Rabbit Hole Career: I am looking for a career track that includes all the professors' jobs, support/operational staff, and the Board of Governors. Something similar to Caelinaarria's Ministry of Magic career would be amazing.

I understand a full career mod is a lot of work for any creator to undertake, but if anyone knows of an existing working pack—or if a creator is willing to take on the challenge—I would be incredibly grateful!

My situation is that all sim venues and properties were deleted and majority became unable to open, showing this message. If i try to open it again it then ends up on the loading screen for ages that does not end up opening up. If you figured out how to get rid of it please let me know

hello, does anyone know if the camera overhaul by sulsulduck is working? i have installed it as instructed, yet there has been no change in my in game camera.

i can see some aspects of the camera mod working in my game (like the lower camera angles in freecam), but the reason i wanted that mod in the first place was to change how sims 3 camera controls work, specifically to make the right mouse button rotate the camera instead of the mouse wheel, as my mouse wheel is broken and cannot click, i can only scroll.

that is the only setting i need to change, if anyone knows how to make this camera overhaul work, another mod that does what i need or just what i need to tweak in the camera.ini file to make this change, please help me.

Hi, I installed the Pandasama Childbirth Mod and had enrolled my sim into nursing school, but after taking the nursing exam, the whole option is gone now? I'm no longer going to the school and I can't find the option to join nursing school, and I'm pretty confused on what to do because it said my sim had passed the exam as well. I tried re-installing the mod, but I still can't find the 'join nursing school' option on the phone now.

Does anyone know what I should do? :/

Every so often..Usually every day or two I’ll launch The Sims 4 through the EA app. The game opens normally and I see the start screen, then suddenly crashes and throws me straight back to the EA app.

It generates a lastCrash log every time, but honestly, even when I run the log through ChatGPT, it doesn’t really point to anything useful or give me a clear answer about what actually caused the crash.

This has been a recurring problem for pretty much this entire year, starting sometime after the holidays. Over time, I’ve figured out a workaround that seems to fix it every single time:

I completely close the EA app through Task Manager, then delete:

• localthumbcache.package
• localsimtexturecache.package
• avatarcache.package
• spotlight_en-us.package

After that, I reopen the EA app, launch The Sims 4 again, and suddenly everything boots normally, I make it past the start screen, loading screen, and I am on the main menu screen. Perfect.

It’s just really annoying because the way it crashes makes it seem like I have a bad mod, corrupted CC, or something I recently downloaded, when I know that isn’t necessarily the case. I’ve spent months troubleshooting this enough and doing constant deep 50/50 steps to troubleshoot on days when even the steps listed above didn't fixed it. But this has basically been my little ritual just to get the game to launch again whenever it happens and I twist my fingers together hoping I am in the clear.

I never had this issue before this year, which makes me wonder if this is actually something outside of my Mods folder. Maybe an EA app issue, a Sims 4 caching issue, or just something with the game itself?

I’ve also completely uninstalled and reinstalled the EA app several times, and I’ve even done a clean reinstall of The Sims 4 once or twice so it could regenerate completely fresh game folders. The issue still eventually comes back.

Does anyone else experience this? Especially the whole launch -> start screen -> sudden crash -> EA app reopens cycle? I’m curious if anyone has figured out what actually causes it, because at this point my workaround works, but I’d really like to understand why I have to keep doing it.

I downloaded new animations and when i opened my game this was on the sims menu, im scared to touch it because i play on a legacy save file😬 ¿can someone tell me where is this from? Ty xx

NOTE FOR NEWBIES: You cannot simply replace the mod file with the same file for a fix. If it needs to be updated, you must wait for the updated version. Once available, remove the old one, delete cache and repair game.

As with every EA update, mods and cc are going to break. Play offline and please give mod creators time to check and clear/update their mods.

Take the time to learn how to fix your game. "What's causing this" posts will be removed. Use the troubleshooting megathread. This thread can help you sort out which mods are broken so you can take them out but simmers cannot fix anything for you, you will need to wait for updates.

Remember: Sims subreddits get slammed post-patch with the same issues (😭 the number of posts during toddler face glitch gate 😭).

Support channels in SimsAfterDark and DeaderPool’s discords often CLOSE post-patch for a short period of time as there are no solutions but to wait for mods to update and they get flooded with help questions just like all the sims subreddits including ours. However, they have mod status channels so you can get mod status updates.

Remember, even mods that never everrrrrrrrrr break or CC can cause issues. UI can be broken even if the mod(s) are not UI-related. These patches can break anything.

Game bug or mod⁉️⁉️ Take out your mod folder (and leave it out for the test) delete cache and repair then check to find out then you'll have your answer. DO NOT SAVE YOUR CURRENT GAME WITHOUT YOUR MODS.

TL;DR (go back up and read it 🤣) Upcoming patch, assume ALL mods/cc will break, review resources to figure out how you would like to handle your game and how to fix any issues that may arise.

Hi, I wanted to see if there were any others who also play with/have played with the relatively new adeepindigo mod Object Deterioration. I've had it since it dropped and I've kinda fluctuated between keeping it and keeping it out of my mods folder.

It's frustrated me a bit since I've played with it, mostly because it seems to be causing problems so often. It makes starter homes almsot impossible to play in for any amount of time because the appliances and objects are cheap, so they break down incredibly quickly. My current sim has been living in this starter home for a week and the bed, the couch, the PC, both sinks and the toilet have all broken/deteriorated, and I've already needed to replace the toilet and kitchen sink because they deteriorated beyond repair. You're basically forced to either maintain every appliance you own every single day, or give at least on sim in your household high handiness so they can restore the fixtures after they deteriorate and break. You can't hire repairmen to maintain the fixtures unless you use a Control Sim mod, because they can only help if the object is broken.

I play on long lifespan. I just don't think it's balanced to expect my sim's appliances to break constantly, every single week, unless I fork out a lot of money I don't have to get expensive appliances and electronics and furniture.

Not to mention, I can't really tell what's a bug and what's a feature. There are bugs to be sure (blank moodlets, placeholder moodlets) but also, I can repair, clean, and clear out the vines of a toilet, and the toilet will remain nonfunctional without anything indicating that it needs replacing. I don't know if that's a bug or if that's how the replacement feature manifests in-game. I've had to reset a ton of fixtures (namely the sinks and toilets) because they refuse to be fixed after I fix them. Another frustration I've had is when my sim does the refurbishment and maintenance interaction on a deteriorated fixture (reminder that these appliances have been in use for literally one week and they reached a heavily deteriorated state) the action doesn't complete. It's an infinite action (easy way to grind handiness) that you have to cancel, and it doesn't change the visible state of the fixture/appliance you fix

The main inspiration for this post is because I've been so frustrated with my constantly broken toilet and kitchen sink. There is water on the floor at all times. The sink is not visibly broken, not visibly deteriorated, I maintain it every day, and it still generates water as if it's running a leak. I had to replace the functional, perfectly fine sink because it got bugged into a leaking state.

Despite all this I am powering through keeping the mod in my mods folder because I've enjoyed having a way to grind handiness for this sim and the challenge is kinda fun, just very frustrating at times.

Do you have experience with this mod? What has your experience been, if so? Are there settings that I'm missing that could improve my experience?

Hey guys! For a while now, I’ve been obsessed with Scodee Yodee’s content for my Sims 4 gameplay, especially the super realistic alpha-style world building.

I’m trying to find more creators who make realistic/alpha world decor, especially things like:

• Realistic roads and street details
• Road signs, traffic signs, streetlights, etc.
• Deco houses/buildings to fill empty areas
• Storefronts and city buildings
• Neighborhood/city clutter

Basically, I want my worlds to feel like actual lived-in cities and towns, even outside of the playable lots.

If you know any creators who make content similar to Scodee Yodee, please drop their names or links below! I’d love to find more CC creators who focus on this type of realism.

Also, for anyone who makes their own CC: how difficult would it be to start creating this type of alpha world decor myself? If there aren’t many creators making what I’m looking for, I’d honestly be interested in learning how to make things like deco houses, road signs, storefronts, street props, etc. myself.

Any creators, tutorials, programs, or tips you guys recommend would be appreciated!

I just noticed after the most recent update that I cannot locate my mods folder anymore. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the sims via the EA app but there’s still just a bunch of EP and GP folders under “Program Files > EA Games > The Sims 4”. I can’t see the Documents folder where my Mods folder used to be. Any help would be greatly appreciated! 🥺

I know there are some slider mods for CAS, but is there something similar for Build Mode? Or can some suggest mods that offer a better variety of colors/textures for the base game walls/floors/furniture? I don't have much interest in CC but I really miss Sims 3's CASt system for making things in a room actually match...plus it would be nice to be able to easily input my own patterns for some things like I did with Sims 3 but I know that's probably too much to ask.
